I meant to get to this earlier this summer, but I’ve been so busy. Sorry everyone. I was also initially thinking of making macaroons for this recipe but they don’t tend to cooperate with cookie cutters.  Difficulty: Easy, 5 hours (mostly refrigerator time), makes about 25 cookies depending on size. 

-¾ cup (170g) margarine  -2/3 cup (133g) sugar -2 eggs -¼ teaspoon (1.2mL) almond extract -2 cups (250g) flour -2 teaspoons (8g) baking powder -½ teaspoon (2.5g) salt -1 cup (100g) shredded coconut

Glaze: -1 cup (125g) powdered/icing sugar -½ teaspoon (0.5mL) vanilla extract -Milk -Shredded coconut

In a medium bowl, cream together the margarine and sugar until smooth and fluffy. Add the eggs and almond, stir to combine. 

In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and stir until almost combined, and then add in the shredded coconut. Finish mixing and then cover and refrigerate for 4 hours. Note: if you’re using chunks of coconut like me, you might prefer to use a food processor rather than kill your fingers on a grater. Lesson learned. 

Turn the cookie dough out on to a lightly floured surface. Roll it out to about ¼ inch thickness. Cut out palm tree shapes (or whatever type of shape you want to use) and place the cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet. 

Bake at 375°F for 8 minutes or til done. Let them cool completely on a wire rack. 

While the cookies are sitting, prepare the glaze. Sift the sugar into a bowl and add in the vanilla extract, stirring a bit to combine. Add the milk about 1 teaspoon (about 5mL) at a time until you have the desired consistency (runny but not too liquidy is best). You’ll only need about 3 teaspoons (15mL), roughly. 

Dip the top of the cookies in the glaze and allow the excess to drip off. Then dust them with shredded coconut and gently shake off the excess. 

These cookies are quite coconuty, and incredibly good. The almond comes through as an aftertaste and compliments this soft, sweet cookie perfectly.

Ash - She would scold her s/o for being so careless, and frankly would not allow them to engage in any physical activity till they have completely recovered. She would give them drinks and ensure that their wounds are properly taken care of, as she feels that she didn’t do a good enough job in making sure they were safe in battle.

Barik - Barik would not seem as caring as most of the other front liners, but he is worried. He isn’t a medic and has no clue on how to help his injured s/o, so he’d rush to any of the healers who were free to check up on the injured party. He would stop work occasionally to come back in and check if his s/o is doing any better.

Fernando - He would panic and get help instantly. Like Barik, he would make sure the healer he got would make sure they were properly patched up, but he would certainly be more caring in the regard of bringing them whatever they needed and wanted. If they wanted him to stay, he’d drop everything he was doing and made sure they were as comfortable as possible.

Inara - Mummy Stone would be so, so worried, making stone walls to prevent anything potentially dangerous from harming their s/o. She would make warm soup for them and tuck them into bed with a comfy blanket and tell them stories of the Mother. She would watch over them when they are asleep and makes sure to talk to them about being careful in the morning.

Makoa - He would chide his s/o, reminding them that being hasty usually does not end well. He has learnt a lot from experience, and would calmly tell them not to be so reckless again. He would bring them little sea shells from the shore and even pearls if he’s lucky enough to find any to make them feel better.

Ruckus - He is a cranky little goblin, and would probably insult his s/o for getting injured. His s/o would then yell at him for not shielding them in time, and that’s when Ruckus begins to feel bad. He would make it up to them by getting Pip or anyone else who could help and give them a little contraption he rushed to make while they were sulking in bed.
