“How the hell did we do long-distance for months, again?” she kissed him quickly, again and again. 

A soft gasp left her, and she pressed closer to him. Damn, she really had missed him. “Johnny....” she sighed his name before kissing his neck harshly, giving his hair another tug.

His yelp got a grin out of the reporter, her lips brushing past his neck as she leaned in close to him. “You know you like it.”

“Good! Looks like the California air did you some good then,” Betty giggled, carding her fingers through his hair tenderly before giving it a sharp tug. 

“Oh am I? Heaven forbid,” she laughed, straddling his lap and kissing him deeply once more. “ I think you deserve it, all things considered.”

“Maybe I did.” Betty pushed him down into the armchair behind them. “Sue me for wanting to give my boyfriend a proper welcome home.”

Her fingers tangled in his soft gold locks, giving a small tug as a wicked grin curled her lips. “Definitely not before I get my mileage out of it.”

“Sorry to hear that there was mourning to do.... but I’m glad you were all together.” She cupped his cheeks, fingertips eventually drifting back to toy with his long blonde locks. “Jesus, you got shaggy.”

“Oh, you know. New York is New York. Always something going on, work to be done.” She let out a long sigh and pulled back enough to kiss him deeply. “How was California?”

“Sure, show me your handiwork,” she held out a hand, waiting for his card. “Did you just really love Ghostbusters as a kid...?”

“Well, look what the cat dragged in!” Betty grinned, pulling Johnny into a hug. “How’ve you been?”

“Hey handsome!” the reporter exclaimed, arms winding around the blonde’s torso as she all but flung herself into his arms. “I missed you.”
