“Your right. I didn’t” He laughed as he tried to dodge the pillow.He had known that he had a place here tonight to sleep if he wanted it and was more then grateful for that. “Then I’m here to be your source of entertainment or whatever. it’s so what, McDonald?”  he asked. She was keeping something from him, now he was sure of it and he wanted to let her know that he’d listen. “You know Mary if somethings wrong you can tell me.”He was hoping she was drunk enough to maybe just tell him but if not he wasn’t going to push unless he felt is was necessary. “Yeah I guess it would be  Not much: working, eating, sleeping, have a date with lily.” He knew that would get her attention and if he got it out of the way now he could focus on why she hated being in her place alone. 

“Oh, I never except anything less from you Jamie. You are nothing, if not consistent,” she grinned, letting out a small giggle at the prospect of his offer of entertainment for what remained of the night. It was a welcome, albeit temporary,  distraction from the conversation she knew was eventually coming. She had made such an effort to keep this hidden, to not let on that there was a problem, or that things had gotten so bad with Mulciber. But if there was anyone she trusted to keep this secret, it was James. Even so, that hardly make it any easier to talk about. For the time being, she wanted to focus on James; if she was really lucky, they would get so immersed in talking about him, he’d forget all about her little slip-up. “I knew it!” she exclaimed, arms flailing, practically falling off the couch in excitement. “Okay, okay, okay. I’m going to ignore the fact that you kept this from me all night, but only if you tell me everything that happened in excruciating detail. Not that I’m not interested in everything else going on with you, but this has been years in the making. Remind me, who was it in fifth year who told you that the two of you were inevitable?”
