I know everyone’s bashing you today, but seriously I’d just like you to take a little minute out from supping your crystal bubbles on your private jet, and give a thought to the hundreds of thousands of truly talented artists that work tirelessly for many years to craft their art as DJs. 98% of artists haven’t had the luck of being born to a billion pound fortune, and your total disrespect for them, and the DJ art causes a huge amount of tension and frustration, to each and every one of them.
I’m not a DJ so you can’t call me bitter, but I have represented 100’s of real DJs that truly deserve to be world-renowned and I feel, see and hear their pain acutely. They struggle to compete for recognition, as most can’t afford the big bucks now needed to market themselves. Where as you come along and think its OK to buy yourself into being a DJ, you show no humility whatsoever!
House music is a spiritual thing, not everyone understands it, and you clearly don’t, it’s not supposed to be about the money, the glory and the fame. Aided by the mainstream media that your Daddy probably has some control of being one of the elite rich, you are now creating yourself as a false idol, young girls will aspire to “just press play” think it’s all about the money, the dripping diamonds, the tits and the celebrity fame, maybe you don’t care, but I’m saying in your position of power you should do.
You don’t need awards, you don’t need the money, if you want to be a true artist be humble, step down from the façade of being worth a million pounds to DJ, and think about the long term damaging effect to the future of our music scene you could be having.
If you really think you have skills then show them, play with a real DJ master and let them be your judge, and play for free, you don’t need the millions. Stop raping the money out of the music world just because you can
