Alright, guys. One album down, like eight million more to go. Tomorrow we tackle Seven Swans, but until then, let’s all take a breather.

Listen to my favorite song from The Avalanche, "The Mistress Witch from McClure (Or, the Mind that Knows Itself)", and think about how he recorded enough material for Illinois to have a full album of pretty-good outtakes.

If you’d like, you can cheat, and have a look ahead at my Spotify playlist that I’m using to plan out the week. The track listing there isn’t any kind of guarantee for what I’m going to get around to on the blog, but I do really mean to, I promise. If nothing else, it’s a pretty solid primer, I think.

This amazing house was build in 2006 by Arquitectura Orgánica. A young couple with two children from Mexico City who after living in a conventional home wanted to change to one integrated to nature. The goal of this project was to make it feel like an internal inhabitant of a snail, like a mollusk moving from one chamber to another, like a symbiotic dweller of a huge fossil maternal cloister.
