I’ve seen a lot of people say that they wanted the apocalypse, or something apocalypse-like, to have been in season five. I see it in video, fanarts, and fanfics.

However, I have something to say about this…

Am I the only one that was okay with that not happening?

Like, don’t get me wrong, the idea of Hawkins in the apocalypse thanks to the events of season four sounds really cool… for fanfiction.

For the actual show, I feel like it would’ve been kind of a total tonal change to go from small town homage to 1980s sci-fi, to an apocalyptic version that’s akin to the “Walking Dead” or “The Last of Us”. In fact, a lot of what people in the fandom that wanted this said feels like something that could come from the two aforementioned franchises. I don’t know, they just feel like two completely different things.

Maybe it’s because I don’t remember anything from the 1980s that had teenagers fighting any kind of apocalypse. The closest I can think of is “Red Dawn” but that’s more of a “what if WWIII happened in the 80s” scenario rather than the apocalypse.

Again, like I said before, the idea of a Hawkins Upside Down Apocalypse is a very fun and cool idea, but for me, personally, it doesn’t really fit with the vibe that Stranger Things has, especially compared to seasons 1-3.

But in all seriousness, Happy Birthday to my favorite ST character!! May you know that it’s okay to make mistakes and that it’s okay to have a hard time accepting yourself. You’re only human. And you’re loved nonetheless. Not by everyone, but from the people that matter the most to you. Just feel free to live life the way you want it, surrounded by those who you love and that you find happiness along the way!!

It just gives me the weirdest ideas ever when it comes to my writing. One that people wouldn’t normally think.

The most recent example: last night, I was minding my own business, coloring in this mandala coloring book my grief counselor gave me to use as a stress reliever. My tv is in on, playing a documentary about Disneyland. And then, out of nowhere, my mind give me a random idea and basically shouts to me:

“The zombie apocalypse, but it’s in Disneyland! They’re trapped in Disneyland!”

And then, seconds later, due to me celebrity crush on Finn Wolfhard, my mind adds:

“And Finn Wolfhard plays the lead, and he’s just trying to protect his younger sibling because their parents are dead!”

One day later, and it’s still in my head and I’m seriously considering mapping that out for potential writing.

So, for those of you who are up to date with me here, I am currently writing a Mike Wheeler-centered season 5 re-write called “Kill Vecna”. I am now in the development of brainstorming the finale. Now, I have a quest for you guys about that.

Should I kill off Steve?

Like, as much as I was okay with the finale, I’m a firm believer that Steve should’ve died in the finale. But, on the other hand, with me already having killed off Nancy, and I’m still iffy about what to do with El (even though I’m slightly leaning more to “El’s alive, but in hiding”)I’m scared that me killing off Steve would look like me doing that for shock value with no real purpose because that’s not the main focus of the fic. So, what should I do?

I’m not sure if I’m the only one who think this, but I absolutely hated Mike’s outfit for the final battle. It manly has to do with the contrast between the sweater and the camo vest.

I’m also meh on the green beanie. Like, it’s fine in its own, but with the rest of the ensemble, I just don’t like it.

So, this is all to say that I will definitely be changing his outfit for the final battle in my rewrite when I reach that episode.

But I’m curious to see if anyone else agrees with me on this.

How did we come to the conclusion that Will’s epilogue boyfriend’s name is Carlton?? ‘Cause I’m sorry, every time I read a Byler fic that includes this man, I laugh because all I see is Carlton Banks from Fresh Prince of Bel Air and I always hear Alfonso Ribeiro’s voice in my head. I have expect him to do the dance.

Whenever I hear the name Carlton, I automatically think of that Will Smith’s preppy cousin from that show.

So, I just realized that I forgot to prompt my new fanfic here, which is a Stranger Things fic, so the rest of you can check it out if you want.

It’s called “Kill Vecna”, and it’s a season 5 re-write where I asked myself, “what if Nancy went to save her family alone in the beginning of episode 2, gets ambushed and dies, and this causes Mike to become a vengeful person who makes it his top mission to kill Vecna and save Holly? Oh, and let’s add Byler in there”

How long is it going to take for some to write or do fanart about a Stranger Things “The Long Walk” AU???

People he saw as friends, all those supers in that list in Syndrome’s computer, are dead because of his former fan not being able to take “no” as an answer and wanting revenge. He literally found one of his super friend’s skeleton in a cave in that island. I can imagine that sometimes, Bob thinks about how the events of the first movie could’ve gone differently if he had done something different when it came to Syndrome. That maybe, if he’d done something different, his friends would still be alive.
