I had a thought about this statue. What if this wasn't actually Marika or Godwyn like we assumed and it was actually Messmer instead? After all, it would make sense for Miquella to reach out to the Shadow Lands in that way.

It would also make sense for Messmer's character to bond with siblings who are also cursed like him. He seems to foster connections with those who are or would be spurned by the Erdtree more than most.
