for anyone wanting to learn more about the types (choirs) of angels, this is a pretty good infographic with cited lines that talk about them.

in conversation about white people who go to Japan and expect their knowledge of anime to culturally carry them, I was once posed with âitâs like if there was a Japanese guy who was obsessed with spongebob and came over here and thought he could get by just communicating in spongebob quotes.â This is a false equivalence because if such a man existed we would crown him king. Weâd love him. Americans would fucking love that. sometimes I get sad that this isnât a real guy I can invite to a party.
Ok the last one got me laughing actually

Can I be honest with yall I don't want to hear SHIT against cishets at pride this year
Day 155 You're being too loud.
How do you view it/its pronouns
(My mother is insisting that anyone over the age of like 20 is going to be against them because "they are racist" and I just wanted to ask because I just can't deal with her and I wanted to see if at least one adult I know (/follow) doesn't hate them)
I think that if you can significantly improve someone's quality of life by changing a few little words in your vocabulary to denote value and respect then the effort to reward ratio is too high to reasonably refuse
When Tess Morgan's son came home with a tattoo, she was griefstricken. She knew her reaction was OTT (he's 21) but it signalled a change in their relationship
This is gold this, absolute gold, the most over the top melodramatic hysterical ridiculous thing Iâve ever read
This is actually so interesting to read- itâs from 2012 but its full of the same anxieties, even some of the same phrasing that many of the guardianâs later pieces on transness use. really hammers home how much of the terfism that emerged in the late 10s was middle class mothers angry at a loss of control over their adult children- whether that be their bodies or their friends or their opinions- and making that everyoneâs problem because they have the power to do so
He says, âIâm still the same person.â
I look at him, sitting there, my 21-year-old son. I feel Iâm being interviewed for a job I donât even want. I say, âBut youâre not. Youâre different. I will never look at you in the same way again. Itâs a visceral feeling. Maybe because Iâm your mother. All those years of looking after your body â taking you to the dentist and making you drink milk and worrying about green leafy vegetables and sunscreen and cancer from mobile phones. And then you let some stranger inject ink under your skin. To me, it seems like self-mutilation. If youâd lost your arm in a car accident, I would have understood. I would have done everything to make you feel better. But this â this is desecration. And I hate it.â
Also just the classism of her associating tattoos with âvest tops, dogs on chains, broken beer glassesâ; like, just say you hate poor people
i would rather see the information for an event handwritten in sharpie on a paper towel than see another AI generated flyer
Saving this post to show my boss who I told the AI flier makes us look lazy and ignorant, and offered to hand draw one. She still printed tons of ai fliers and I'm tempted to make a better one just because it annoys me so much.
Fun update: event was canceled because literally nobody rsvp'd to the AI flier.

Happy pride month everyone :3
Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as âproblematicâ in class and our professor was like, âThatâs cool, but âproblematicâ doesnât really mean anything. It means that the thing youâre describing has a problem, and in and of itself thatâs not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else itâs not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like youâre trying to say that this is bad, but you donât want to say âbad.â Is that right?â
So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the âbadâ thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, âIâm uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.â
Once we stopped calling things âproblematicâ and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, âthatâs racistâ or âthatâs misogynisticâ or âew capitalism grossâ out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, âUhhh... Iâm not sure whatâs so bad?â and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.
Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I canât help but think of this professor being like, âGood starting point, now letâs get specific.â I think when we have to commit to saying âthatâs ___â it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever weâre claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes itâs art, and it should be full of problems, because thatâs what art is.
