Spent most of the day working on my next assessment - a draft essay about colonialism in classic anthropology. It's not a topic I have a lot of knowledge about, so I've found it really interesting to plan, however I'm quite worried it's going to take too long to write - I have two more assessments due right after it next week! In the evening, me and my friends visited the light festival which was on in my city. It was beautiful and such an inspiring experience! There were art installations all around the city centre, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

This morning I had a political theory seminar discussing freedom, equality and autonomy, then I spent most of the afternoon continuing to work on my sociology formative essay. After dinner I attended an interfaith panel discussion about navigating university as a person of faith - it was very interesting, and I liked how a lot of the dialogue focused on the similarities between religions, rather than the differences. Unfortunately, I ended up having to pull an all nighter to complete my formative and didn't manage to get it done until 5am! At this point, I'm just glad I managed to finish it at all - and I'm very glad it's just a formative, not a summative!

Didn't have any lectures today so I spent most of the morning in my room doing readings for an essay I have due on Friday. This is my first assessed essay of the year, and I'm still getting used to academic referencing and how to find sources. After lunch I had a stroll into town and picked up some fruit and bread as well as a few essentials. I spent the rest of the day in the library, attempting to plan my essay. It's really feeling like the end of autumn here - all the trees are bare, and every day is dark and rainy. At least it makes for some cosy study sessions!

Hoping to post daily and keep this as a digital diary of sorts, but we'll see how it goes!
