Do you like Gerard Way? Do you like butterflies? Well TOO BAD!!!!! I POST MOTHS!!!!!
Moths are like 80% of the Lepidoptera (= scaled wings) order. You can recognize moths from butterflies because moths rest with their wings next to their body, while butterflies keep them upwards, as well as their antennae (butterflies have club-like antennas) and overall fluffiness (not foolproof though!)
With that out of the way hello I'm a biology student who is also autistic about bugs and my main blog is @mossy-petrichor
This blog was inspired by @birdgee and @geepods !!!
Why is the name in italic?
That's how you're supposed to write a scientific name, to distinguish it from normal text! I use them because sometimes bugs will have multiple common names or none at all
What's with the "[ ]dae" between parenthesis?
That's the family name! Lepidoptera is an order made up of many families - you'll often see Saturniidae, Erebidae, Sphingidae, Noctuiidae... There's also subfamilies, like Arctiidae (Erebidae) and Saturniini (Saturniidae). You can also say a moth is a "saturniid" or "noctuid"!
Not limited to Gerard I post whatever whoever whenever
You can give me suggestions, moths or gerards to match, or ask me anything about moths!
Please do NOT comment on how you hate moths or bugs on my posts, I don't wanna hear that
Check out my brothers in chitin @geebeetles , @spidergee and @mychemicalinsects
