There is an old belief in Serbian villages and small towns that certain pumpkins (and watermelons), when left outside during a full moon, will turn in to a vampire.
Happy Halloween, everyone!

This is the quality fall shit I’m here for
I think it’s great that Pumpkins (and other squash) were only introduced to Europe around 1600 and the Serbs wasted absolutely no time blaming them for their problems.
Something I really like about Gravity Falls, and I mean this with absolutely no offense to the girls, is it does a good job of writing characters that would be bullied. Like... Candy, Grenda, and Mabel are really weird kids. They are so unabashedly themselves in a way that is not what is prescribed for them. I had no trouble believing that Pacifica and her gang would make fun of them.
A lot of shows have kids who are bullied that just have like, one “funny quirk” away from them being the same as the “normal” kids. And I’m not saying that those types of kids can’t also be bullied! It’s just that... other shows seem so afraid of actually writing kids who are loud or fat or quirky and instead stick “awkward” on a pretty thin girl and call it good enough.
It’s so nice to see these kids being extremely different and loving themselves and loving each other for it. There’s never a plot about these three wanting to fit in — hell, even the one episode about Mabel wanting to be more normal utterly rejects it and shows off how her being silly is great. The narrative of this show can spin it like “yeah, look how genuinely different these kids are. the bad guys make fun of them for it, but we think it’s awesome.”

That’s really freaking cool

#Blackout for Minneapolis. For Louisville. For Toronto. For Brooklyn. #Blackout for Us All.
To the #Blackout Community and Tumblr at large,
We know you must have a lot of questions or are feeling distressed about the news. The world has been dealing with a lot this year, and it is an especially harrowing time for Black Americans and Black folks abroad. We know your biggest question right now could be summed up by a quote from Toni Morrison:
“What can I do where I am?”
Here at #TheBlackout, we have decided to help you start finding an answer to that question - we feel that we need each other. We need unity, organization, a clear sense of direction, but more importantly, a space where you can be yourself without judgement or fear.
So, in addition to boosting your art and businesses, our highest priority right now is to provide you all with resources to help you start from where you are.
This is a masterpost of places you can donate, find mental health + spaces for radical self-care, and just do something fun. We will be adding on as things change.

kind of obsessed with the idea of the rest of the gaang leaving Toph and Zuko to watch over some cooking food and when they come back its burned and Katara starts fuming but Toph and Zuko are like “we’ve never stepped inside a kitchen in our lives and only have one eye between us, if anything it’s your fault”

fun fact: on the Good Place podcast, Jason Mantzoukas said many of Derek’s lines were written by putting dialogue through google translate several times, which is definitely how they got this sentence.
In the subversive masterpiece Avengers: Endgame (2019), directors Anthony and Joe Russo made the bold artistic choice to film scenes with a camera, which is why you can see things on the screen.
