introducing... gamora

        ‘ oh yes. most are useless  creatures  .  ’   she  doesn’t  need  more  than  three  fingers  to  hold  up  how  many  men  she  trusts  .   it’s  not  a  lot  .   she’s  been  around  women  most  of  the  time  ,   it’s  how  she  prefers  it  .    ‘  they  are  not  annoying  ,   nor  stupid  .   it  is  nice  .  ’  

“You could always just ask them why they dislike me so much,” he offered, shrugging his shoulders slightly. The God was sure others have already filled the rest of the groups of who Loki was and whatnot. This included Gamora because despite her unlikable personality, her boyfriend Quill would have gotten this information regardless. That or Thor would happily tell his new friends to be cautious of the frost giant. “What makes you say life can’t survive here?” Maybe she knew of the stories of how centuries and centuries ago, explorers would come and die here on these red sands. Maybe she just assumed. 

Gamora rolled her eyes, but if that was what it would take, then that was what she would do. It figured that she had to be stuck on a planet with one of the most annoying, mischievous beings in the universe. She wished she had a way to shut him up, but she knew nothing would work. As it was, they were notorious for being impossible to jail or kill. “It’s a well known fact that outside life doesn’t survive on this planet. No one has landed and lived to tell the tale. I’m sure you already knew that if I did. There are things that all those who roam space know. And so I truly can’t imagine why you would bring your people here to set up camp. Are you trying to kill them off so you can leave when the time is good for you and reign whatever power you gain from their deaths?” 

‘ well , no — not really . i think it just sort of caught on . ’ it was better than having it chosen by the news — they tended to make the worst ones . her story certainly wasn’t what he had expected , although it was far more interesting . ‘ an infinity stone ? aren’t those extremely dangerous ? ’

Mantis nodded. She was unsure of what Gamora would be looking for with the way the Terran’s were acting. But she just wasn’t sure what she could do to help. “What should we be paying attention for?” Mantis asked. Mantis feels she is very able to discern certain emotions between people, though she doesn’t know if this will help and she is not the most subtle of them but she wanted to be. She wanted to be able to be useful. “Perhaps there is something I can keep a look out for?” Gamora was able to do so much, if she could impart any information Mantis would take it and run with it. “I do admit that I wish we were closer where we slept. I am feeling nervous about being so separated now and with others that we are concerned with.”

Gamora hummed quietly. Mantis could keep an eye out for things that others couldn’t, especially if she hadn’t shared what she could do yet. "For starters, try not to volunteer too much information. I know you are trusting, and that’s a good trait for you, but the information we have is our best weapon here,” she said. “Look out for Terrans who think they know best, who are too confident and too comfortable here. None of them should be comfortable here, so those that are can’t be up to any good. Keep track of those who are too... interested in us. If that makes sense,” she finished. She offered her a sympathetic smile and nodded. “I know. Maybe I can find a way to get our tents moved closer. I don’t think the people you’re with are too worrisome. Pepper and Cindy seem good, for what it’s worth.”

IT WAS ALMOST so fictional, to think that one day, civilisation would be on a new planet. though, it could be possible, but for it to happen so soon? it most certainly almost felt fictional; as if he was reading a science-fiction novel.

yet, it came with the price of losing abilities, and then being stranded on a planet; sounds so very much like a science fiction novel. though, at least it did help that the avengers knew of thor, one of the groups that was also on this planet — was the other called guardians? or so, that’s what he heard.

erik’s eyes drifted over, before grey hues saw a green figure. he could assume that she was a mutant, until he remembered that she was with — was it the guardians? erik approached her warily, though he wasn’t one to approach someone, nor strike up a conversation.

“considering that we are stuck here, i suppose it would do us some good if we knew of each other,” erik stated silkily, “i’m erik.”

Some days Gamora was so irritated with Quill for getting them wrapped up in this mess that she wanted to wander away on this god forsaken planet, just to have a moment to herself, a moment where she didn’t have to hear voices of strangers. Those days were far and few between. She knew better, even if she wanted nothing more than to be anywhere but here. It was bad enough when they were stuck, worse yet when they’d run into the Asgardians, but now that they were amongst all these Terrans, she was beyond pissed. 

𝑰𝑻 𝑾𝑨𝑺𝑵’𝑻 𝑳𝑰𝑲𝑬 𝑯𝑬 𝑫𝑰𝑫𝑵’𝑻 𝑲𝑵𝑶𝑾 𝑻𝑯𝑨𝑻 𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑺 𝑾𝑨𝑺 𝑯𝑰𝑺 𝑭𝑨𝑼𝑳𝑻. 

pretending   that   he   was   innocent   was   just   a   defense   mechanism   he’d   used   after   years   of   living   with   yondu   and   the   revengers.   he   hated   taking   responsibility   for   his   idiotic   actions   because   everyone   expected   so   little   out   of   him   anyway.   he   knew   he   was   an   idiot.   he   knew   that   no   one   really   thought   he   could   do   the   most   simplest   things   in   life.   upon   meeting   his   guardians,   he   realized   that   he   truly   belonged   somewhere.   this   beautiful   woman   that   currently   sat   before   him   simply   had   no   idea   the   control   she   had   over   him.

he   deserved   the   aggressive   and   tired   tone   that   he   received   from   gamora.   truthfully,   he   wouldn’t   even   mind   it   if   she   decided   to   punch   him.   any   attention   from   that   goddess   was   positive   in   peter’s   eyes.   he   just   hated   the   idea   of   letting   her   down.   so   now   with   hands   held   out   as   if   to   say   he’d   surrendered,   quill   spoke   once   more.   ❝   you’re   right,   you’re   right.   ❞   he   was   never   going   to   deny   her   that   truth.   he   spoke   more   with   the   help   of   his   ego…   his   brain   was   rarely   present.   (   perhaps   he   got   that   from   his   dad.   )

   ❝   do   you   think   i   trust   them   ?   ❞   he   quipped   back,   only   moments   after   he   tried   to   slip   out   of   the   conflict   he   created.   ❝   i   didn’t   even   trust   the   god   of   rainstorms   or   whatever–   let   alone   his   sibling.   ❞   quill   thought   it   was   best   to   hide   his   jealousy,   knowing   that   if   he   complained   then   he   might   not   get   a   goodnight   kiss   tonight.   she   kept   him   more   in   check   than   he   ever   allowed   himself   to   be.   ❝   gamora–   i,   i   just   really   don’t   like   this.   ❞

All of this was close to what Gamora could consider her worst nightmare. She wasn’t fond of strangers, wasn’t fond of most people in general. And that was in small doses, but this? It was unavoidable. She couldn’t keep away from the people she didn’t know, and she shouldn’t either. They had to play nice, so long as they were stuck on this planet. Gamora was flighty. When things grew uncomfortable for her, she left. It was her defense mechanism. Being stuck here made her anxious, which made her lash out. 

It was clear Peter was trying, even if he exhausted her often. She softened a bit, letting out a sigh. It was his fault, but it could’ve happened to any of them. Any one of them could have made a bad call. It just so happened this bad call was his. As he spoke again, she rolled her eyes a bit. “Obviously not. But that doesn’t make me any less stressed,” she reminded him. She wasn’t fond of Thor, but she didn’t think he was any harm. Loki, on the other hand, seemed like he was only harm. “I cannot stand Loki,” she spat, growing tense again. 

         everything about yelena seemed to  be  double  edged  ,   for  sure  ,   she’s  had  her  few  good  deeds  -  but  double  the  bad  .   it  made  her  a  real  good  survivalist  ,   at  the  damn  least  .    ‘  the  amount  of  men  i  have  seen  …  attempt  to  start  and  finish  a  fight  …  well  ,   i  would  say  sad  ,   but  i  don’t  waste  emotion  even  as  small  as  pity  on  men  .  ’   ah  ,   yelena  ;   always  opinionated  ,   always  cocky  .    ‘  okoye  ,   carol  ,   and  brunnhilde  .   they  are  on  my  good  side  .  ’   for  now  .  

         ‘ yeah, it stumped scientists too.  it’s  funny  ,   there’s  other  kids  exactly  like  me  out  there  ,   but  i  almost  prefer  to  distance  myself  .  ’    cindy  thinks  it’s  a  cultural  difference  ;   sure  ,   they  have  the  same  set  of  powers  ,   but  cindy  can’t  relate  to  many  of  them  .   it’s  why  she  worked  so  much  better  with  the  agents  of  atlas  .    ‘  sure !  what  tent  are  you  in ?  or  ,   i  mean  ,   you  can  stop  by  mine  …  ’    she’s  just  excited  to  do  something  else  other  than  superhero-ing  or  worrying  .    ‘  where  are  you  from ?  ’   she’ll  ask  curiously  .  

                 ‘  YOU  KNOW  WHAT ?   I’M  NOT   gonna  lie  .   i’m  kinda  missing  my  purple  hair  .  ’   daisy’s  gone  through  a  few  hair  changes  ,   it  kinda  symbolized  the  changes  in  her  life  throughout  the  years  -  but  purple  was  the  only  thing  cut  too  short  .‘  coulson  had  said  they  didn’t  have  purple  hair  in  the  20s  and  50s  -WHICH?  fine  .   fair  enough  . i  get  it .   but  i’m  not  there  anymore  ,   shield  needs  some  new  vibes  ,   and  purple  seems  like  the  best  vibes,   dontcha  think ?  ’   maybe  she’s  turning  this  into  something  not  big  at  all  -  but  she’s  still  kinda  pressed  about  it !

         ‘ such emotional attachment to something  as  flighty  as  powers  .  ’   yelena  herself  preferred  …  more  solid  things  .    ‘  learning  to  fight  or  point  and  shoot  is  far  more  capable  and  in  your  control  .  ’    a  pause  .    ‘  i  miss  having  my  own  tent  .  ’ 

‘ ah , i see . that’s how most of our aliases were made up as well . especially mine . ’ professor x definitely wasn’t something that he’d choose for himself , but the others seemed to like it . there were worse names to pick from or make up , so it really wasn’t so bad . ‘ you nearly destroyed yourselves ? that sounds like an interesting story . ’

          ‘ ah, no. he is! is  my  wording  too  confusing ?  he  and  i  were  involuntary  made  into  …  enhanced  humans  from  this  interaction  with  a  radioactive  spider  .  ’   hopes  she’s  not  coming  off  as  too  nerdy  ,   just  wants  to  explain  it  as  thoroughly  as  she  can !  it  is  ,   after  all  ,   just  as  much  her  origin  story  as  it  is  peter’s  .    ‘  yeah !  they  also  have  these  cool  backgrounds  and  stickers  you  can  decorate  it  with  .  ’   blinks  at  the  other  woman  ,   she  didn’t  seem  that  much  older  than  cindy  ,   but  she  supposes  that  appearances  can  be  tricky  .    ‘  i  have  .   i  think  they  came  out  when  my  parents  were  younger  -  they’re  not  my  personal  favorites  ,   but  still  good !  ’   lips  purse  ,   cindy  makes  mental  notes  .    ‘  if  only  it  were  that  easy  .  ’  

“I don’t believe I owe you any explanation.” He retorted right back, eyes remaining on the words in his book. As much as he’d love to entertain the green lady, Loki could care less of what others thought of him. Much like they could care less about Gamora’s feelings and opinions despite her being close to Mantis. It was perhaps one of the only downsides to his plans but the God knew even if they did bother to try and charm Thanos’ adopted daughter that they’d get nowhere. Unlike the rest of her friends, Gamora was intelligent and had radar for bullshit. They flipped to the next page of their book, letting the group of morons called heroes figure out what to do next. “Shouldn’t you be participating? I’m sure your knowledge of the galaxy could be useful.” 

“You form an alliance with my people that potentially paints a target on us and you don’t think you owe me an explanation? I beg to differ,” Gamora said, raising an eyebrow at him. Loki was getting under her nerves in every possible way they could, and she could not determine if it was intentional, or just the way they were. She’d noticed the way Mantis was around him, and him around her. While she didn’t know the God on a personal level, she knew enough of them to know she didn’t trust them around Mantis. She was too good for someone like Loki. “I don’t know anything of this planet. I try to stay away from planets where life cannot survive.”

        okay, and that actually will  bring  surprise  to  flash  in  cindy’s  eyes  .   this  woman  must  be  from  somewhere  really  out  of  it  .    ‘  he’s  a  super  hero  back  home  .   has  spider  themed  powers  .  ’   she  shrugs  .    ‘  i’m  human  ,   just  have  some  perks  with  speed  and  strength  .  ’   that’s  good  enough  ,   right ?   cindy  smiles  ,   actually  recognizing  the  words  the  other  says  .   take  THAT  for  being  young !    ‘  zunes  have  super  cool  colors  .   what  have  you  listened  to  so  far ?  ’   someone  who  knows  less  about  modern  music  than  her  ,   she  loves  it  .    ‘  don’t  know  if  there’s  much  innocence  left  -  ’   cindy  moon  had  to  grow  up  real  fast  in  that  bunker  .

he could understand her mistrust , humans had a tendency to mess things up . after all , that was the reason they were going to orbulite anyway .

charles liked drax , although at times he was difficult to understand . it often seemed as if he had a vague grasp on figurative language , which proved to be difficult when in conversation .

‘ you’re one of the guardians , correct ? that’s a very interesting choice , how did you come up with the team name ? ’

As a child Wanda had always daydreamed about going to space, as most children growing up did, she wasn’t sure what she had expected when she’d fantasised as a child, but she had never expected it to be like this, though she supposed that was the problem with hoping, things never usually turn out how you’d expected. “I don’t know much about that, but the people who decided to bring us here are some of the smartest, if not the smartest, people on earth. They must have had a plan.” And though she and Stark were no longer seeing eye to eye on things, she could acknowledge that he, for the most part, always knew what he was doing. “I have faith that they’ll figure this out, in time. What brought you here?”

Perhaps she had the wrong idea about Earth, but Gamora was quite certain that no one on Earth was even aware of the things that people spoke about in space. There were other planets like Earth, those with limited exposure to space travel, and they often didn’t know the things beings of other planets knew as common knowledge. It was a shame, though, that they hadn’t sought out others who could help guide them better. After all, they knew Thor. Surely there was someone they could have consulted. “I hope that they do,” she said with a small smile. “Sheer idiocy. The thought that we could be the ones to explore this uncharted planet. My friends’s plans aren’t always well thought out.”
