Of course he was one of the first few faces she'd recognised upon her return. Damon-freaking-Salvatore. Why not, Stefan? Someone with whom she actually had the time and patience for. Alas, she didn't have the room to be picky given her current situation. She didn't truly feel herself, a sense of 'missing' somewhere deep within her being. A muted version of Alexia, almost.
"Yes, I'm back, no I don't want to talk about it," She began, immediately setting the standards for the conversation as she continued, "and don't misread my being here, talking to you, as friendship." A shrug followed, head shaking as she made herself somewhat clear. "This is a situation of circumstance, Salvatore."

He knew magic. And this was certainly a city in the middle of the clutches of it. Unfortunately though, his witches were nowhere to be seen right now. Not exactly the most ideal situation. What he did know though, was that shit was about to hit the proverbial fan, and Tavan needed to get the lay of the land before he subjected anyone to the revenge he would certainly be dishing out, due to being ripped from his residence. So, he watched, and he waited. Quietly surveying the environment, whilst keeping his entrance under wraps. Until now, of course.
"Tell me," he began, hands coursing through his hair in somewhat mild annoyance, "am I to be subjected to these painful conversations the entire time I'm here?" Small talk wasn't his thing. So, when he was minding his own business, and those around him thrust it upon him, well, he was semi-tempted to show them why to avoid him entirely.

"that price is outrageous," wesley told the store clerk who clearly didn't give a bloody damn. "it's not even a blasted first edition." with a sigh he returned to the shelves of books full of history, monsters and magic of all kinds-- many written in latin or other dead languages. find the book, translate it, realize it's useless. it's become a pattern at this point. and yet here wesley was, searching again. it wasn't long before the spine of a book caught his attention, someone was standing in front of it but if that was the word he thought it was--- "pardon," wesley began. "there's a book behind you i'd quite like to reach."
Of course, the first place Sophie had stopped was the local magic shop. Why wouldn't she, given what she was? This way, she was ready. Ready for whatever she was supposed to be prepared for, anyway. But all she knew right now, was that she was magically transported to another city, with no means of escape, or allies to converse with. At least, none that she'd made just yet. So, of course, here she was, scoping out the wannabe's from the genuine magically-inclined.
Eyes peeled to a book in her lap, sitting in front of the bookcase behind her, the woman in a whole other world, leading her to be completely unaware of just who was trying to squeeze by. "Shit," the brunette began, before rising to her feet, book in hand, "sorry."
A reassuring and ever-so-slight smile creeping upon her features, as she brushed herself down. "Recon." She half-admitted, not quite going into the specifics, but of course giving the inclination she was deep in thought, hence the apology. "The same for you, or?"

"it must be said your talent is impeccable," your tone was nothing but sardonic. in your hand was a coffee cup with the name ron written on it. you would have loved there to be a ron somewhere in there, but you were the only one left awaiting a drink. "sweetheart, i didn't even give you my full name to make it easier on you. i said RICK. like brick, or rickroll or HENRIK." you sighed. you could barley feel the coffee's heat, nor would the taste be much of anything. but it helped you feel human, just a little bit. you dropped a 50 into the tip jar for the hassle you'd given ( it was all part of your game of pretend ) and began searching for an empty seat.
Coffee. A simple yet intricate delight that spurred Cami on throughout the day. As a psych major, it was hard not to rely on caffeine from time to time throughout her past education. Today was no different. Not to mention it helped curb her thought process at times, considering she was still battling with why or how she got here, and why people weren't freaking out as much as she was on the matter.
"I think just accept your fate." The blonde chimed in, looking down at the coffee, and realising the barista's fuck up. But, coffee was coffee, right? It did the job at the end of the day, regardless of the name it came with.
A shrug followed, before she pressed on. "But, depends, if you were vying for foam art with your name on, then maybe wait around for another, but with her 'talents', not sure it's worth the extra dedication at this point." Would she wait around for another attempt at 'Cami'? Unlikely.

Her return was swift and something nobody could truly prepare for, considering she wasn't entirely herself. Not really. A hollowed out shell, trying to come to terms with those that controlled her. But now? Was she free from their hold since returning to Mystic Falls 2.0? Or, were those that brought her back, just around the corner, waiting to call her back like their little lapdog?
“If I listened to my heart, I’d never be able to do my job.” The revenant muttered to herself, pondering if she even had such a thing anymore. Or was it just a feeling of what she remembered being there? Regardless, she knew that people she loved dearly were here, and the contemplation to avoid them entirely was rather high. For, would they even recognise her anymore? Could she put them in danger, if she was controlled in the most abhorent ways?

You hadn’t thought about anything except holding Orion in your arms since the moment that jail cell slammed shut behind you. The finality of that echoing crash rang in your ears for weeks. There were moments—brief, fleeting—when you managed to dull the ache in your chest without him, but they were rare. Mostly, they came with the full moon, when distraction replaced the quiet and the loneliness didn’t get the chance to creep in.
Los Angeles felt like a chance. A real one. An opportunity not caged by iron bars or bad choices. “A new life,” you whispered to yourself as you walked the streets, eyes scanning every building, half-expecting him to step out of one and end the search you’d been running on desperation and hope. “A new start.”
Thank God she was with her son at the time. How it happened, and why, for that matter? Well, she was none-the-wiser. Alas, it didn't particularly matter. Not really. Not as long as she could continue to protect her child, and keep a close watch over him. However, what she hadn't quite anticipated, was locking a target across the street from her, with whom she assumed was still behind bars. Though, that didn't mean much when apparently you had magical transportation, against your will.
"Isaac?" She called out, stood dead in her tracks. Her son locked up in a little place she'd managed to secure herself, away from others she'd clocked had since arrived. There was no telling how people would react, and the last thing she needed was for her kid to be in the line of firm. Tension breeded uncertainty, and not being able to predict her surroundings concerned her. Greatly.
