Jack Smiles, s2, part 6 (episodes 10, 11&12)
The second to last batch of s2.
For sheldonslog and sismom63 - because you asked :)
*sigh*
thank you for making them, lunalove-blr!
That tiny, censuring squint in the first gif gets me everytime!
Those smiles (and don't even get me started on smirks) that escape he are the most rewarding.
Are there any posts of jealous Jack gifs from the show? 😆
Sorry for the late answer 🙏🏼
Buuuut as far as i recall, i haven't done anything like that before. It is possible there are other gif creators on here that might've captured those moments but i personally haven't (tho I totally should). I will make it a point to have that amongst my upcoming gifs 😌✋🏼
Please DO 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
So, tell me, Jack. Where did you collect your coins? (requested)

Still a bit relaxed from their Queenscliff adventure.
Still both reeling from the memory of creamy thighs and bikers legs in their bathers 😍

Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries + text posts (3/∞)
for @greenmountaingirl, because she asked :)
woke up and someone spilled vanilla extract all over my dash, so as punishment you strange little beasties are getting all the VANILLA FACTS i know:
vanilla is the 2nd most expensive spice in the world (2nd to saffron)
which is why more than 99% of what we call “vanilla extract” is actually vanillin (vanilla’s dominant flavor compound) and is not extracted from real vanilla.
luckily, even professionals struggle to tell the difference when it comes to things like baked goods. but there is a distinct difference in non-heat treated products like vanilla ice cream. real vanilla has a more complex, individualized flavor profile.
why is vanilla so expensive? because it is a ridiculously delicate & demanding crop. complete primadonna.
vanilla beans come from vanilla orchids. these crazy flowers bloom for A SINGLE DAY and have to be HAND-POLLINATED in a process that is exhausting, delicate, and requires specialist knowledge passed down over generations.
then, if you’re lucky, you get vanilla beans.
which then require months of further specialized treatment.
the entire process takes about a year and can go wrong at any stage
vanilla has been cultivated for over 800 years (possibly much longer). the first known cultivators are the Totonac, an indigenous people of Mexico.
the Aztecs used it as a sweetener to balance out the bitter taste of cocoa. it was popular in a drink called xocolatl–the precursor to modern hot chocolate!
it is only pollinated by a very specific orchid bee!!!
which is why no fruit could be grown outside of Mexico until the 1800s
Edmond Albius, born into slavery, invented the pollination method we still use today–launching a global industry when he was just 12 years old.
today, the majority of the world’s vanilla is grown in Madagascar
if you want real vanilla, read the labels carefully–it’s harder to find than you think!
in conclusion, those tiny black specks you see in fancy vanilla ice cream? those are vanilla bean seeds! itty bitty orchid seeds!!! they are delicious and also a PRISSY BITCH!

PHRYNE TEACHING DOT ABOUT A CERTAIN “ELECTRICAL MASSAGER”
➢ requested by @unusual-disaster
For a nice Catholic girl she sure has come a long way 😅
Sometime down the line I suspect Hugh will be extremely grateful 😏
Because she is bound to have learned a thing or two. Most importantly that women are allowed to enjoy sex too
The “encrapification” of the American pint — a chemist’s plain-language dissection
Really good article by a chemist on why most ice cream sucks now— it’s because it’s not really ice cream.
part of me wants to be like "do people really not know this" and part of me knows full well i only read the labels because i have gut problems and don't want to suffer
anyway i've had my eye on the fat content for years. actual ice cream made with real cream won't trigger my lactose intolerance, because the higher the fat content of dairy, the lower the lactose content. my personal tipping point is around half-and-half so if you make "ice cream" with with skim milk, the enshittification i experience is unfortunately literal
Just to mention a few:
We also prohibit a long list of food colorants. Most antibiotics and all growth hormones in meat production and a long range of other additives.
But it still isn't anywhere near the quality of the olden days in terms of authentic food from when I was a kid.
Simply because ingredients aren't local and ingredients seasons aren't observed.
And don't even get me started on the carbon footprint of especially fruit and vegetables because as far as I recall strawberries aren't in season for 12 months of the year.
The result is inferior produce with absolutely NO taste and severely diminished nutritional quality.
Miss Fisher Snippets (298)
One of Phryne’s superpowers is safecracking. She calls it “a shady trick” taught by her father. As for why and how Henry Fisher acquired such skills, it is anyone’s guess. Anyhow, according to Wikipedia, the first known safe dates back to the 13th century BC found in the tomb of Pharaoh Ramesses II. Over the centuries, the material used and mechanism applied continues to evolve and improve, but there has yet a known uncrackable safe. It’s just a matter of how long it would take to breach the barrier.
Some of us may own a safe, but very few have the need to actually crack one. Still, it’s fascinating to watch a real-life professional lockpicker demonstrate techniques for cracking locks and safes – a session first presented at Miss Fisher Con in 2018 (Portland, Oregon) and an encore this year (July 22-24, 2026, Las Vegas). How you chose to apply the knowledge acquired is entirely up to you. Visit MissFisherCon.com for more details.

2x12 Unnatural Habits
Jack realising that you'll catch more baddies with honey than with vinegar 😏
insp.
They are just destined to become lovers.
Jack might have fought it kicking and screaming in season 1 (He was married after all)
Tried to save himself from heart break in season 2 (she didn't have her finest moments in Blood At The Wheel)
Only to reel in her heart in season 3 (where she really ran out of good excuses for not entering a true partnership)
And in every glance and heated look he just broke down her defences.
The ultimate relationship goal is to have your partner look at you the way Jack looks at Phryne

SHIPS MEME: A New Ship ↪ Phryne and Jack ♥ #it was a romantic overture
5250 days since the world was introduced to Phrack on the 24th of February 2012
4709 days since the premiere on Danish television on the 18th of August 2013
Then how on earth have I had at least 10.000 days where I missed my bedtime because I was devouring MFMM Fic on AO3?!? 😅
listen to me, this is so so important: you've gotta get used to really giving it your 60% as a default. like don't half-ass it necessarily but try not to go over 70% or so of an ass. you'll feel better and live a happier more fulfilled life, and on the rare occasions where you do need to lock the fuck in you'll be able to pull off bullshit that the sad miserable wretches giving it their 100% can never dream of, because they're busy draining themselves dry and you have energy reserves to spare.
Now this is life balance wisdom 👆
