“and by ‘anyone’ i suppose you mean those friends of yours?” john lights up, looking over at the girl ever so briefly before shrugging. “not your da, not my place to tell you what to do. your secrets are yours so long as you’re not planning on poking into the things that go bump in the night.”

“Speak of the devil and he appears.” John grinned. “I’m at least 16, I’d say. Eight’s a bit too precocious for me.”

“do you want my help or not?” john didn’t take his hands off the item, giving the other a long look. “my work needs items to work. nothing should be hurt so you can let your pretty little heart rest easy.”
