［作品コンセプト］今回御徒町の集合住宅への作品設置と伺い、御徒町について調べた際に町工場など職人の街であること、そして宝飾の街であることがわかり装飾的要素として宝石を扱うことにしました。モチーフとして使用したのは原石と加工された石、両方のシルエットです。加工と無加工の形状が混在する事で工房のようなイメージにしています。そして、殆どがその装飾要素に隠されてますが絵画全体に大きなイメージとして描いたのは施工中の室内の様子です。ある瞬間を切取り作品化する事は絵画や写真作品にとっては非常に古典的でスタンダードな方法と言えます。このモチーフを選ぶことによって１つは記念や思い出のように今しかない建設中である状況を描く（最終的に表出するか否かではなく描いた筆致が絵画自身に記録されていることが要とします。）というということ、そしてそのイメージをそのままに扱うのではなく装飾で隠す事によって、写真や映像、自分の眼に映るものなどの一見本物であるかのような視覚情報に対して疑問を投じるような作品を目指しました。

An abandoned school in a mountain village in Beijing was transformed into a boutique hotel. Due to the restrictions, the structure of this rent property was not allowed to be changed. The project hired local villagers for construction in order to strengthen the connection with the village.
