Liko is truly a very good person but she and the other RVTs have every reason to become evil with everything that has happened to them.

explaining it like this reminds me a lot of the relationship between Perl and Rose Quartz in Steven Universe, I don't want to give spoilers for those who haven't seen the series but it's practically similar to the one between Gibeon and Amethio.

two completely different series but in the end the same thing always happens, one has done everything for the other only to be abandoned and not know how to carry on without him.

they both have a connection with technology, are introverted and even look alike.

I don't think they have a family bond because if that were the case there would have been a plot twist right from the start where Dot would have immediately recognized Spinel if they had a special bond.

And if perhaps she wouldn't have said it openly, it wouldn't make sense to hide it from the rising volt taklers considering that they would have helped her anyway.

so I think just Spinel and Dot are just good parallels of both of them to kind of show the hero and the villain being her opposite.

literally he's a complex character who literally evolved and learned twice.

the first when he became evil and was possessed by the laquim

the second when he is redeemed thanks to Lucius, Amethio and the others (except the other explorers obviously)

And honestly I really like how Gibeon understood his mistakes towards Amethio and "forgave" him.

It must be taken into count considering that in the end he was not that character who in his case was not just a bastard with no change towards Amethio, as usually happens with his category of characters.

Honestly, I find that all the characters in Pokémon Horizons are very well written, but Gibeon is one of the best, hands down.
