When I fell, I hit the ground, hard, a wet thud, a rasped breath.
I was not the same after this:
My head was always aching, I was exhausted although i still slept my days away. seasons passed without notice. I’m not sure I was real during this. I’m not sure I remember this correctly. I wondered if I really fell, or if i jumped, or if i was pushed.
My head was still aching, but now my ribcage was tender and bruised as well. I did not speak these days, words were a laborious trouble, so I stopped attempting, I began to lose interest in people. they still came and went, i still smiled like a porcelain doll, I do not believe I was like me. I did not care for much either, I would just lie down in the open grass, and stare at where i thought god might be staring back.
Nothing ached or hurt, everything was well, I did not feel pain or sorrow just a numb buzzing in my ears. I was quiet still, i liked it this way. everyone stopped trying to help. i didn’t want help anyways. I wanted to be alone. always alone. everything felt far away, like looking through a locked glass window, like setting the house on fire and still freezing to death. Between me and god, I won the staring contest.
Everything hurt with a terrible pain. I was in agony day and night, suffering, yet my voice had returned to me! I screamed and screamed. yet nobody was around to hear. I was falling again, and I knew I would hit the ground, hard, a wet thud, a rasped breath.
and I would not be the same after this.
