Ariana Grande through the decade (2010-2019)

Dove had been engaged to Ryan for six months before she shocked everyone and broke off the engagement and relationship. Dove felt like something was missing. Like she wanted to find herself. Something just didn’t feel right. Moving on to work on Hairspray Live had been just what she needed. Moving on from a four year relationship was hard, but she finally started to feel like herself again. She honestly hadn’t expected to like Ariana the way that she did. In the way that she wanted to kiss her. Never in a thousand years did she think it would ever be reciprocated. That’s why she thought she was being pranked when Ariana first said it. I mean, she was Ariana. She had dated people like Big Sean, Mac Miller, and she had just gotten out of a relationship with Niall Horan. She still wasn’t convinced this wasn’t all a joke. If Ariana said that she was joking, Dove would say she was joking too.

Teasing Ari by saying that she was waiting for her to show up, she leaned back on her couch, waiting for a reply. It never came though. She sighed, looking at her phone every so often. She was starting to think that maybe Ari fell asleep or was just done talking to her when she suddenly heard a knock at her door followed by singing. She recognized the song and the voice. Hoping up, Dove jogged over to her door and looked through her peep hole to see Ari on the other side. “Oh, baby, look what you’ve started. The temperature’s rising in here. Is this gonna happen? Been waiting and waiting for you to make a move,” she sang before opening the door. “Before I make a move,” she finished, grabbing Ariana’s face and kissing her.

When she first met Dove, Ariana knew there was something special about her. Every time they would be in the same room, her mood would always change to the best. She found herself smiling and laughing more when the other girl was around her and after the recent break up with Niall that Ariana went through, Dove was always there for her to support and make her smile. At first, the singer thought that it was probably a small crush but noticing how fast it was growing with time, Ariana couldn't just leave it like that. She had to open up to the other woman but she was scared. Hell, she has never been scared before and that was making it worse for her. Ariana knew very well the whole situation between Dove and Ryan and part of it was holding her back to talk with the blonde. She was terrified even with the thought that Dove wouldn't feel the same way or maybe she wanted to be alone for awhile or maybe Ariana was not even her type. Simple as that.
