Kumon: Good morning, director!  Azami: ‘Morning.  Izumi: Good morning, breakfast is ready. Omi-kun made it, though.  Kumon: It looks SO good~! Thanks, I’m digging in!  Azami: Thanks for the food.  Kumon: Oh, right. Today is the elective class day, isn’t it?  Azami: Ah… yeah, I guess.  Izumi: Elective lesson?  Kumon: There are several subjects and we can choose the one we’d like to receive something like a special class— Kumon: It’s different from the usual because all the grades will be combined!  Izumi: Heh, there are classes like that. What are the subjects?  Azami: There are various related to culture, art, and PE. You can do practical activities too. Izumi: I see~.  Izumi: Since all the grades are combined, does that mean you two can take the same class?  Kumon: What! You’re SO right! I didn’t think about that!  Azami: That’s true…  Kumon: Hey, so which class are you choosing, Azami?  Azami: …That’s a secret.  Kumon: Eh~! Why?!  Azami: It won’t be fun if I just tell you. …Thanks, I finished.  Kumon: What, already? You eat so fast!  Azami: That’s because you’ve been talking all the time. Besides, we’ll be late if we don’t go out soon.  Kumon: You’re right. It’s so late!  Kumon: Munch, munch… Thanks, it was all good! Then, we’re going out!  Azami: We’re leaving.  Izumi: Have a nice day. Be careful! 

Teacher: The elective class will be next. Azami: …Huh?  Kumon: Eh! No way, you’re in this class?! I’m in this class too! That’s crazy!  Azami: Hey… lower your voice. Everyone is quiet,  Kumon: Ahaha, sorry! I got too excited.  Azami: Anyways, why are you here, Kumon?  Kumon: What do you mean by why? I chose traditional musical instrument practice as my elective class!  Azami: Really…? That’s so unexpected.  Kumon: Originally, I wanted to choose another class, but they rejected me after reaching their max.  Kumon: And since there weren’t many here, I decided to come and try traditional musical instruments. I didn’t know we would be together!  Azami: Sigh…  Kumon: But, why did you choose the musical instrument practice, Azami? Azami: Ah… for nothing in particular.  Kumon: Uh-huh~? 

Kumon: …And, and, Azami and I ended up in the same elective class!  Azami: It freaked me out to see him in the classroom.  Izumi: Ahaha, I can imagine that happening.   Izumi: How was the class?  Kumon: The instructor taught us how to play the koto. Azami got praised a LOT~.  Azami: I wasn’t the only one who got praised, though.  Izumi: The koto, huh…?  Izumi: (Hm? That’s like—)  Citron: Could it be that you are interested in traditional musical instruments?!  Kumon: Woah, Citron-san?!  Azami: Where did you come from? Citron: My Citron sense was tingling, so I came!  Kumon: Your sense?! That’s so cool!  Izumi: Eeh… what happens with the traditional musical instruments?  Citron: A madam from the shopping district invited me to a traditional musical instrument lesson.  Citron: I was sad because I won’t be able to go that day when I heard you all talking about the koto.  Citron: If you’re interested, I’d like you to go in my stead!  Kumon: Eh! I want to go!  Citron: Ooh! That’s Kumon for you!  Kumon: The director and Azami will go too, right?!  Azami: …I don’t see why not.  Izumi: I’m okay with that too.  Citron: Thank you! I’ll tell the madam about it.

It gives an authentic vibe.  Azami: Yeah… completely different from the high school class.  Kumon: I’m getting a bit nervous!  Instructor: Greetings, everyone! Are you Citron’s friends? Hello and welcome~!!  Azami: … Izumi: (I thought the koto instructor would be quiet and graceful, so her energy surprised me…) Kumon: Great, this will be fun~! As expected of Citron-san’s acquaintance!  Azami: Her passion is impressive…  Instructor: Now tell me, have you put your hands on a koto before?  Kumon: Azami and I have played for a little in one of our high school classes.  Instructor: Oh, is that true? I’m so happy to hear that.  Azami: We can’t play it quite well, though.  Izumi: Ah, I don’t have experience with it.  Instructor: It’s okay if you don’t have any. I’m glad you’ve come.  Instructor: The koto is a relatively easy-to-learn musical instrument for beginners. I’m sure you’ll have a great time playing it!  Izumi: I see… I feel more confident now!  Instructor: Then, let’s start right away! 

Izumi: (Eeh, is it like this…?)  Izumi: ♪~   Izumi: Ah, it made a sound!  Instructor: Indeed, my dear. You can use only your thumb for now. Be sure to pluck them from the front to the back—.  Kumon: ♪~  Instructor: What a lovely sound! I wouldn’t expect less from an experienced one!  Kumon: Hehe, thanks!  Azami: ♪~... ♪~ … Instructor: Well… Very well… That’s…! There’s an ephemeral feeling in his melody—.  Instructor: It’s like you were a contemporary Hikaru Genji!  Azami: —  Kumon: Hikaru Genji from “The Tale of Genji”? Instructor: Yes. The radiant master could play any musical instrument wonderfully.  Instructor: Since it’s a story from the Heian Period, there are traditional musical instruments in it… And the koto is one of them.  Kumon: So that’s the thing! Did you know that, Azami?!  Azami: …Yeah.  Izumi: …In the end, Azami-kun chose traditional musical instruments as his elective class because of their relationship with Hikaru Genji.  Kumon: Wait, really?!  Azami: …Is there a problem with that?  Izumi: Of course not. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about him.

Izumi: Did you get interested in the koto after your role as Hikaru Genji? Azami: …Something like that.  Azami: I mostly listen to hip-hop, which is completely different from traditional musical instruments. But it’s not that bad to listen to it sometimes.  Azami: I don’t think I’d have played traditional musical instruments if it wasn’t because of acting.   Azami: Things like that broaden my horizons… and make me think that acting is great.  Izumi: …Fufu, I see. 

Instructor: But seriously, his aura is quite wonderful.  Izumi: Azami-kun played Hikaru Genji until not long ago.  Instructor: So that’s the reason! Tsumugi: Ah, Itaru-kun.  Citron: What are you looking at, Itaru?  Itaru: It’s the pamphlet for the Goldfish Festival I got a while ago. Citron: From the festival where you’re going to perform?!  Tsumugi: Oh, yeah, Hisoka is performing there too. He will get a marshmallow assortment for that…  Itaru: That’s right. I heard there’s a marshmallow stand, so I’m checking what else will be there.  Citron: Since it’s a festival, there must be a soothing salary and a goldfish scooping stand!  Tsumugi: Ahm, do you mean shooting gallery?  Itaru: A soothing salary is the comfort of company slaves.  Tsumugi: Ahaha…  Tsumugi: There has to be goldfish scooping at a Goldfish Festival, but does it have other exclusive stands?  Itaru: Something unique besides the marshmallow stand… Itaru: …Fufu.  Tsumugi: Itaru-kun?  Citron: What is it?  Itaru: Sorry. I remembered something. I found this page about a workshop to make goldfish lanterns.  Tsumugi: Heh, you can make cute lanterns like that. It’s the perfect event for the Goldfish Festival.  Citron: So this reminded you of something funny? Itaru: Yeah. There’s this goldfish vtalent I’ve been into. Their name is Goldfie. Citron: WHAT! I know Goldfie too!  Itaru: You’ve watched them, Citron?  Tsumugi: Vtalents are famous people on video platforms, right?  Citron: Yes, yes! Vtalents chat and play games on streaming using a virtual avatar!  Itaru: Goldfie’s virtual avatar is a goldfish. Their mouth is always moving—.  Itaru: It goes the same when they pause or chat seriously until they banter like a straight man.  Itaru: Just like the lanterns on the pamphlet, their gaze doesn’t change no matter where they are looking, which is strangely charming.  Citron: Goldfie is popular not only for that!  Citron: The fins and scales even their details are beautifully modeled. The enigmatic delicacy is attractive to the viewers!  Itaru: Absolutely.  Citron: By the way, they say fy~ at the end of their lines. I heard many people are into the contrast with realistic avatars.  Tsumugi: Heh, a talking goldfish sounds interesting. But why a goldfish?  Citron: I don’t know… but I can sense an intense fixation for goldfishes from them.  Itaru: That’s a bit uncommon. However, they haven’t revealed the reason, so it’s a complete mystery why a goldfish.  Tsumugi: I see. Vtalents have a deep nature.  Citron: I’m doing it. I’ll go to that stand, Itaru.  Itaru: Eh? Citron: Found ya!  Itaru: Woah, Citron.  Itaru: If you’re here, I can assume that you came to make the lantern.  Citron: That’s right! I’m so ready! So let’s go! Itaru: Eh? Me too?  Citron: Yep! You don’t have anything better to do after all!  Itaru: That’s rude. That’s just because we had the rehearsal early in the morning.  Citron: This means you’re free until the performance! Over there, Itaru!  Itaru: Wait, don’t pull me!

Citron: We’ve arrived! My turn!  Itaru: Hey, this is not a duel.  Owner-manager: Hm? Do you guys want to make goldfish lanterns?  Citron: Yes, we do!  Owner-manager: Very well. The full course is sold out, so we’re not taking more people. However, we still have slots for the basic course.  Citron: The full course is THAT popular?!  Owner-manager: Yeah. After all, it’s the opposite of a normal class. The festival also plays a part in it.  Itaru: Is there a difference between the full course and the basic course development?  Owner-manager: There is. In the basic course, you draw the body pattern, eyes, and mouth in a pre-made goldfish body to complete it…  Owner-manager: But in the full course, you start by making the structure of the goldfish body.  Itaru: I understand. So what do you want to do, Citron?  Citron: I wanted to do it from zero but I’ll take the basic course for now!  Citron: No matter the course, I’ll create a goldfish that lives up to that vtalent!  Itaru: Where did you get that enthusiasm…?  Itaru: Whatever. Then, two basic courses, please?  Owner-manager: On it! 

Owner-manager: First, start drawing the fin pattern and its scales.  Owner-manager: After that, the eyes. You can use these stickers here, and later draw more things on it.  Itaru: What do you mean by drawing more things on it?  Owner-manager: You can add eyelashes or make the iris bigger. Some kinds have compound eyes. It’s up to you how to make them.  Citron: We’ll do our best!  Itaru: Then I want to do it like one of the sample lanterns.  Citron: … Itaru: (The scales should be like this. Citron’s ones…) Citron: Starting with the waves… and spirals here!  Itaru: Eh, that pattern is completely different from the ones in a goldfish. Are you sure?  Citron: Yes, it’s all fine! I’m picturing a goldfish having fun swimming underwater!  Itaru: And this arrow is for?  Citron: That’s its speedup command! The eyes are amazing, and the fins and scales are thinner and more delicate than the sample.  Itaru: There was another enthusiastic person besides Citron, huh?   Citron: I’m not gonna lose! I’ll show them how serious the basic course is! Next, draw the eyes and mouth!  Itaru: …More than a goldfish, it looks like those good with a goldfish style.  Itaru: (Let’s finish the eyes and mouth too.) 

Citron: —And it’s done!  Owner-manager: Your lantern looks neat, guy. I’m sure there’s no other like that in the world.  Citron: My work is the owner’s favorite!  Itaru: That’s not what he meant, you know?   Owner-manager: Your lantern looks good too. I’d even like to place it with the sample ones.  Itaru: Thank you.  Citron: I can’t wait to show it to Tsumugi!  Itaru: Yeah.  Itaru: (Even if it wasn’t the full course, Citron seemed to have fun. Well, I think I also had fun with it.)  Participant B: Amazing…  Citron: It’s not that great, but thanks!  Itaru: They are not talking about us, but the one next to us.  Participant C: Mine didn’t come out like that. You’ve totally beat me…  Participant A: … Itaru: It’s at the same level as a real goldfish. The fins and scales are prettier than the real ones, aren’t they?  Citron: So true. I have to be careful not to get caught. Itaru: (At the end, they simply loved goldfishes.)

Notes: Citron says 社畜 (company slave), instead of 射的 (shooting gallery) to which Itaru replies something like “Not the company slaves mention…”

When Itaru says Goldfie Jr, he means that Citron’s lantern might have a similar style to Citron Jr (a doll made by Citron).

The owner-manager refers to Itaru and Citron by お兄ちゃん (onii-chan). 

I tried to sort them according to the dorm spirit and, sometimes, their vibes. 

But I think some of them could fit in other rooms: · Guy -> Ignihyde · Hisoka -> Diasomnia · Chikage -> Octavinelle · Tsuzuru -> Heartslabyul · Tasuku -> Ignihyde

An odd one could be Octavinelle Hisoka, but hear me out. He’s observant, empathetic, and capricious, traits akin to Octavinelle. He is also willing to help with anything you say if you pay the price (marshmallows). Looks wise, Diasomnia's uniform fits him better.

Marshmallow Buff! / 1

Izumi: Okay, that’s all for today. Great job, guys!  Itaru: GG.  Hisoka: …Good job.  Izumi: Your character portrayal was so on point that I wouldn’t think this was a sudden performance request.  Itaru: The world-building made the acting easier. Kudos to our resident scriptwriter. Tsuzuru: That’s nice to hear, but that’s pretty much because of the base script from the Goldfish Festival organizer.  Tsuzuru: The story adaptation went smoothly thanks to it.  Izumi: I’m glad the theme was easy to write. Keep this same energy on the big day, guys!  Tsuzuru: Sure thing.  Itaru: There won’t be anything to worry about if we get the director’s thumbs up before the performance. Hisoka: …Director, is there something we should change to make it better? Izumi: Not really. I think the interpretation and moves are good enough.  Hisoka: Okay.  Tsuzuru: …Is it just me, or is Mikage-san more motivated than other times?  Itaru: I noticed it too. The tempo in the dialogues between you two has been on point in every practice.  Itaru: That motivation of him could only be—-. Tsuzuru: Because Mizuno arranged a marshmallow assortment and a marshmallow dessert stall, isn’t it?  Izumi: Yeah, but there’s one more reason related to it…  Itaru and Tsuzuru: Huh?

Hisoka: … Izumi: (Oh, Hisoka-san. He is looking at something very happily.) Izumi: What are you looking at, Hisoka-san?  Hisoka: The list of stalls Mizuno gave me. The goods that will be in the marshmallow dessert stall are written here.  Izumi: It makes sense why you couldn’t take your eyes away from it.  Hisoka: Yeah.  Hisoka: I told you before that Mizuno noted down all my recommendations when I took him to the marshmallow specialty shop, right?   Izumi: Yeah, I remember that. He wanted to go to the marshmallow shop to hear what you had to say about them.  Hisoka: Yes. He searched for marshmallow desserts combined with various sweets based on those notes. Izumi: (Mizuno did that much for Hisoka-san…! I feel indebted to him even if he didn’t do it for me…!)  Hisoka: He prepared exclusive goods for the Goldfish Festival that isn’t in the marshmallow specialty shop. I’m looking forward to it.  Izumi: Everything makes sense now. If we finish the rehearsal quickly, you might have plenty of time to look around the stalls.  Hisoka: !  Hisoka: When is the rehearsal? In the morning?  Izumi: Hmm, that’s up to the priest and Mizuno-san to decide, but… maybe early in the morning since there are fewer visitors.  Hisoka: In the morning then. Izumi: Great job, everyone!  Izumi: You were more fired up than at the practices, Hisoka-san.  Itaru: Yeah. That fire on him reached us too.  Tsuzuru: It felt like the real performance.  Hisoka: Are we free until the performance now?  Izumi: Yes, we can split up for now—. Hisoka: I’ll go to eat marshmallows.  Izumi: Eh?! Hisoka-san, wait! I have a message for you… Tsuzuru: And I was wondering about him changing clothes so fast… Itaru: The marshmallow buff is no joke. Izumi: Ahm, you two can go around the festival and enjoy your free time. I’ll go after Hisoka-san!

Izumi: (Where was the marshmallow stall…?) Hisoka: … Izumi: Found it! Hisoka-san—. Hisoka: I’d like marshmallow cake, marshmallow macaron, and marshmallow ice cream, five of each one.  Izumi: Eeh?! That’s a gigantic order…!  Hisoka: …Ah, director. Stall Person A: Sir, your order is ready.  Hisoka: Thanks. Munch, munch… yummy.  Izumi: You did your best in every practice for these unique marshmallows.  Hisoka: Yes. I strongly believe Mizuno-san should join Mankai Company’s staff.  Izumi: Yeah, that won’t be possible. Oh, right. Mizuno-san wanted me to give you a message.  Hisoka: …A message?  Izumi: “Be at the marshmallow stall at noon.” Hisoka: …I’d stay here even if he didn’t tell me to.  Izumi: Haha, I should have known it.  Woman A: Look, it’s a marshmallow stall. That’s so rare!  Woman B: Those marshmallow macarons look so good~! Should we buy some?  Child A: Mom, I want that ice cream!  Mother A: Oh, that looks delicious.  Hisoka: …More people are coming.  Izumi: Yeah. Other customers will come, so hogging the stand is not a good idea. Let’s move a little.  Izumi: Since we’re in the festival, why don’t we check other stalls until Mizuno-san comes?  Hisoka: … Izumi: They might not have marshmallows, but we might find other sweets.  Hisoka: …Okay. Let’s look around. Hisoka: But, give me a minute.  Izumi: Hm? Hisoka: I want the same I asked before. Hisoka: …The cotton candy was good. Izumi: You were eager to visit all the stands with sweets at the festival, Hisoka-san.  Izumi: Okay, we should see the marshmallow stand soon… Ah, there are candy apples next to it!  Hisoka: Candy apple?  Izumi: Yeah. They were placing goldfish-shaped candy apples when we left the marshmallow stand. I wanted to try one.   Hisoka: Oh, you’re right. I didn’t notice it.  Izumi: There were only marshmallows in your mind after all. I should get one now that I’m here. Do you want one, Hisoka-san? Hisoka: Sure. Izumi: Okay. Excuse me, could you give me two candy apples? Stall Person B: Sure thing! Izumi: Thank you. Here is yours, Hisoka-san. Hisoka: Thanks. Izumi: Now that I look it at this close, it’s quite cute. Hisoka: …

Choice 1: Marshmallows are better?

Izumi: Marshmallows are better, aren’t they?  Hisoka: Eh?  Izumi: You didn’t eat it immediately compared to the other ones.  Hisoka: No, it’s not that. It feels like it’s watching me, so I can’t eat it.  Izumi: Pfff, you’re right. It has eyes attached to it.  Hisoka: …I’ll eat it from the fin.

Izumi: Did you like the goldfish candy apple?  Hisoka: …It’s only candy, but I feel bad eating the goldfish.  Izumi: Oh… do you feel uneasy about eating it because your role in the performance is a goldfish? Hisoka: …Don’t worry about it, I will eat it after I look at it a little more, it’s pretty. 

Izumi: …Ahh. It was good.  Hisoka: Yeah.  Hisoka: —Ah.  Mizuno: I-I’m very sorry! Did I keep you waiting?  Izumi: Not at all. We were looking around and just came back.  Mizuno: I’m glad if that’s the case. I wanted to give something to Hisoka-san, but it took some effort to arrange it.  Hisoka: Give me something?  Mizuno: Yes. It’s this.  Hisoka: ! A marshmallow bento…! Hisoka: But the one after the performance… Mizuno: This is a snack before the stage. There’s another assortment ready as an appreciation token.
