Nightmares.. Everyone has them. It isn't something strange or anything. Its normal to have nightmares. But when its every night? Its a little concerning.
Simon suffered from constant night terrors. Yes, the Simon J. Paladino.. Gazerbeam suffered from night terrors.Â
 Every night, he would wake up in pools of sweat, huffing to himself. Some of his nightmares consist of him losing a case or a normal, he gets hurt on a mission. Some were him as Gazerbeam not being able to save as many people as possible. Normal. But, there was always one reoccurring one.
It started off nice, smooth even. It didnât feel like a nightmare.Â
A certain blonde, his lover, Jack, would take Simon out to some crazy event. Sometimes it was a photo booth, or a fashion run way. Sometimes it was a slow night like a fancy dinner. Other nights, it was laying on the couch and being lazy all day. Jack, let's just say, always kept Simon on his toes with dates. And he liked it. They were always different. And he enjoyed the fact his boyfriend cares about his preference. Nothing too loud or too bright.. Just right.Â
Tonight's dream was simple. A simple dinner date.
Nothing wrong with that. Simon thought to himself
They sat there, the two of them giggling like they were a couple of high school girls talking about gossip.
Jack chuckled lightly, always yapping about something that happened at his job. Simon listened. He nodded, his head light, staring at Jack. He stared at the movement of the others arms, to every small detail of him with his hair and his cute stubble on his chin. The freckles on the manâs cheeks to the light grey hairs he was starting to get. Of course Jack always denied the greys, but he looked handsome with or without anyways.Â
Then.. There. Simon tilted his head lightly and stared. Those pretty blue eyes, he thought to himself. How they get all big anytime the blonde stared back at his pearly blues. He smiled lightly.Â
Everything went red. His jaw dropped. The new outfit he got? Ruined. Covered in ..Â
No.. No No⌠Not Jack.. PleaseÂ
Simon pulled his head back to see the full picture. He was now staring at a headless Jack. His face was wet. His hands were red. He just sank into his chair. He started hyperventilating.Â
His now bloody hands covered his eyes as he howled. He opened his mouth but his howl, his scream didnât come out. Nothing came out. He cried as his hands went to his neck. He was hoping it was a dream. He continued to shake himself to wake up.Â
Simon woke up and quickly sat up. He didnât have his glasses on. Any squint could trigger it.. He has to be careful. His grand plan was to shut them tight. Yes. . Shut them really tight.Â
He needed to check Jack though.. Simon opened his eyes again and started to pat the area next to him. A soft groan was heard. The groan became a growl before it became a whine.
â Simon-I.. You.. â
Simon sat there. Tears were streaming down his cheeks yet his facial expression was numb and plain. It was almost cold how his stare was now. All he heard was his motherâs voice. Oh Simon.. You made yourself a mess again! Poor Poor Simon.. Always making things worse for him..You made another mess, Iâm disappointed in you.. You nearly killed me. You wouldnât hurt your own mother now would you?
 He felt something grab him. He was getting pulled into something?... No? Someone?.. He heard the hushing..His back felt the soft taps from small hands.  That smell. He knew this smell..Â
âAnother nightmare?..âÂ
âThe same one like last time..?â the voice called out.Â
Another nod as he gripped the small body.Â
âShh⌠Its alright.. It was just a dream.. I am still here.. Not harmed..â The voiced hummedÂ
