EXPLANATION

So, you’ve gotten past basic astrology and are starting to fall down the rabbit hole of draconic charts. But, what exactly is a Draconic astrology chart? Well, a Draconic astrology chart takes your chart and adjusts it until your North Node is at 0 degrees Aries. The North Node at 0 degrees Aries directly translates, in astrology, to “your life purpose is to figure out who you are in comparison by who you’ve been told to be”.

Why does setting the North Node to 0 degrees Aries reveal your true path, you might ask? Well, it all has to do with the symbology of the Moon. When we arrive in this world, there are two components that affect us: our nature and our nurture. The Moon points to how we experience our entry to this world (mother) and the north node of that moon (the path she sets us on) determines how the rest of our chart manifests. So, if we mathematically set our life path to be a mission to figure out who we are, the resulting ratio of planets changes to what we would be without our mother’s influence.

Now, of course, it should be noted that since we do in fact have a mother that brings us into this world, so our draconic chart may seem irrelevant, but it can give us insight as to what we would do “naturally” without the moons influence. Getting an understanding of who we are at our core, before we even incarnate, can also help give insight as to why we’ve changed to accomplish this new component of growth in our current lifetime.

Now that we have a base understanding of what a Draconic astrology chart is, we can move on to how you read one. In short, it is as follows:

INTERPRETATIONS     

*Note: if your North Node falls under another category, treat it as non-aspecting, or that you are in an in between step in lifetimes. There is still info to be gained from your Draconic chart, but there isn’t a general way to relate it to your natal one that I’m aware of. These themes are EXTREMELY general and are meant to help you relate your Draconic planets to their counterpart (Draconic Sun to natal Sun, Draconic Mercury to Draconic Mercury, ect.) natal planets. 

If your original North Node is in 25 degrees Pisces -5 degrees Aries…

Your Draconic chart hasn’t really changed, meaning you’re already on the path of discovering who you are. All of your Draconic placements should be more or less conjunction your counterpart natal ones.

If your original North Node is in 25 degrees Aries - 5 degrees Taurus…

Your Draconic chart is looking to take the first step to evolving into something new. All of your draconic planets will form semi-sextiles to your counterpart natal ones and a major lesson will be learning limitations that having a physical body has on what you would otherwise be. As a result, you’ll likely feel like you’re constantly trying to figure out what the next step is to get what you want or how to think ahead and plan for what you want to do. This aspect makes you feel as if you are constantly trying to catch up to a seemingly infinite number of steps, which is enough to make many people with this placement question their sanity. It also, however, provides nearly limitless experiences and a constant motion to your life.

A Draconic chart is who you really are, while natal chart is who you think you are after growing up, trying to fit into your environment, being exposed to society and life in general. (Also Persona charts are just like mini Natal charts. But they also add explanations to them: like the reasoning why you became like your Natal chart. There can also be more of a “wanting others to see you this way” type of ordeals with them too.)

Ok back to Draconic charts, literally everything is the same but the signs of your planets because all the signs turn counter clockwise until the north node is on 0.0’ Aries. Your planet’s houses and all the aspects will be the same. So what you really want to look at are the signs. Which makes sense since the signs, by themselves, are energy (and houses are where you put that energy.) Draconic charts are very personal, people don’t see or recognize them when you are exerting energy outside, aka the houses. It’s more of an internal energy.

Draconic charts also can tell you about your past lives. But I think that you really need to look into that yourself because this chart and past life info in very personal and you can only make sense of it. I also think the same thing about Natal and Draconic comparisons because only you totally understand your soul and know the persona that you’ve built around it.

Nodes: How and what you need/want/will do to move grow. Since the North node will be in Aries in every chart and all the aspects will be the same as the natal chart, so the sign of the planets that aspect the nodes are important to look at. (Most aspects will be easier to understand, e.x. everything that will opposite the node will be in early Libra/late Virgo, this signifies what you have let go, often relating to serving and sharing, to move forwards as an individual. Squares nodes will be in Cancer or Capricorn, etc.)

Ascendant: What you truly project out to others. It’s kinda like the actions and expressions that you have to do/do without thinking. Some people say you actually look more like your Draconian Ascendant, but you also look like the dominate signs and rulers too because appearance don’t always rely on the asc.

IC: The family that you wanted (while the natal chart is what you actually got). Emotional connections that you need.

Descendant: Relationships that you need (while the natal chart is what you’re actually look for and attract.)

MC: What your soul wants to accomplish, the ideal version of your soul. If it’s somehow important or dominate, you can have a spiritual mission in this lifetime.

Sun: An extension and reflection of your natal chart sun, aka your identity and purpose.

Moon: Literally who you are and how you express yourself. No matter how suppressed, the Draconic moon will still crawl out of you. Since Draconic is based on the lunar nodes, the moon is the most important planet.

Mercury: How you look within. How you learn about your inner self, and how you connect yourselves and they communicate together. How you rationalize your soul.

Venus: Your soul’s perception of beauty, love, value and enjoyment. How you truly accept value and feel love in other but especially towards yourself.

Mars: The passion that burns in your soul. Your inner drive and temper. What gets you excited, in a sexual way and not. 

Jupiter: How you soul expands; learn and explore. Good luck, pleasure and natural abilities. How your soul connects philosophy and spirituality, usually as a means of rationalizing.

Saturn: How and what structures your soul. What hurts your soul and how you need to grow stronger. Karma from past lives. How your soul restricts and builds/treats it’s foundation.

Uranus: What truly causes change (often by braking away from karmic patterns.) The oddities and discoveries of your inner self that are nerve-shattering. It’s fascinating in a “new” way; aspirations, originality, excitement, etc.

Neptune: The parts of your soul that dissolves and end up in the void of unconditional love and creativity or delusional pain and emptiness. How you can let go of the real world and blindly cherish your real self and everything else.

Pluto: How your soul transforms during longer periods of time (lifetimes, after deaths, before births, etc.) often caused by karma. The darkest and most taboo parts of you. okay so it’s about time for an astrology post about the coronavirus. this post is going to be divided in two parts: analysis of the transits during the development of covid 19 so far and some lame ass prognostics based on future transits. don’t take it too seriously or base anything you do on what you read, i’m just curious if i’m gonna be right.

analysis of the transits so far:

• november 17th 2019: first case of covid 19 was detected. at the time, saturn and pluto were already approaching each other and are in orb for a conjunction with saturn at 16 degrees capricorn and pluto at 21. i’m going to discuss the symbolism of this conj in the next date on the list. saturn is opposing north node in cancer - difficulties, obstacles and pestilence are directly interfering with our fate and the feeling of comfort it might bring. another aspect worth exploring at the time is mars sextile jupiter opposition uranus in taurus - there’s a green light for any sudden outbursts and accidents that can injure us physically and this might happen on a global scale in a way that is related to nature. we also have jupiter square chiron - from my experience with reading natal charts, harsh aspects between chiron and jupiter usually indicate an expansion of pain, a good environment for hurtful things to happen. the sun is trine chiron and sextile pluto which makes those two Bringers of Misery (and healing) even stronger. • january 13th 2020: technically the noise around coronavirus started on the last day of 2019 when the world health organization was informed about as many as 44 patients that have an unknown type of pneumonia in Wuhan, China. but things became more clear around 11-12th when there was more info on how the disease started and was spread and when the new type of coronavirus was publicly identified and its genetic sequence was shared with other countries so they can use it for developing diagnostic kits. around that date, other countries started reporting cases of the virus. so i think it’s safe to say that’s when shit started getting serious. now, as all respectful astro geeks know, january the 13th is when the infamous saturn/pluto/sun/mercury conjunction took place. in motherfucking capricorn. let’s talk about what this means. now we all know saturn conjunction pluto has been an indicator for earth-shaking disasters throughout the centuries. before pluto was discovered - meaning until less than 100 hundred years ago, saturn was the official daddy of death and dark stuffs. saturn is also the symbol of lead in alchemy; lead is the base matter (prima materia), the shit that one has to turn into gold. it’s the primitive chaos we all need to tame and work on in order to have good things and live an honorable life. saturn is also associated with pestilence - i was reading a book about the role of pestilence in medieval english literature by brion lee grigsby recently and i think it will be useful to share some quotes i found in it: “No one was quite sure what Saturn had or did, but most experts felt that its combination with anything was bad” (Gottfried, Black Death, 111) - imagine what it indicates when it’s in its own sign of rulership and is combined with pluto, an archetype mostly associated with transformation on a LARGE scale and death. “In the Knight’s Tale, Saturn states to his daughter Venus "My lookyng is the fader of pestilence”. Since Chaucer was the first person to translate astrological work into the vernacular, namely “A treatise on the Astrolabe”, we can assume that he was knowledgeable of contemporary astrological learning. Therefore, on the authority of Chaucer, we learn that Saturn foretold the coming of pestilence.“ need i say more? many modern astrologers have forgotten saturn’s correlation to pandemics but it’s there and it’s twice as intense when it’s combined with pluto. and any planet in capricorn is bound to affect society and the social order, especially when it comes to economics and finances (which are deeply disturbed by the coronavirus crisis). let’s see what else have we got during this significant conjunction: oh yes, the sun and mercury have joined it too, putting into light the hidden energies of pluto and saturn and making them affect our communication on a global scale (that’s when it was publicly announced that the new virus exists and is spreading and people started talking about it). jupiter is in capricorn too making the abundance of capricorn energy even more intense. but it’s nothing compared to what’s coming when jupiter joins pluto and saturn in the conjunction. mars is trine chiron and square venus, making this a good time for wounds and illnesses on the physical body. • march 11th 2020: that’s the last date in the past that i’m going to look into. shit has been getting progressively more and more real as jupiter was approaching saturn and pluto. and yeah, jupiter is playing a larger role in this than one might think. in general, the jupiter archetype is one of the most misunderstood ones in modern astrology. it’s portrayed as some fat clown that’s constantly dropping bags of luck and fortune on people while simultaneously drinking wine from a jug and screaming obscenities. jupiter is not about fortune, jupiter is about the abundance that leads to inevitable decay. jupiter is about being stuffed until you burst open as opposed to saturn that’s about being so thin you’re almost gone and having to train mercilessly to gain some muscle. let’s look at the transits when the pandemic was announced: we got a wide conjunction between jupiter on 21, pluto on 24 and saturn on 29 degrees capricorn. bitchez are getting closer as they’re dancing with death. jupiter is expanding the effect of the saturn (pestillence) conjunct pluto (large scale transformation). but that’s not the most significant change in transits that happened between january 13th and march 11th. let’s look at mars but first, it’s time for some more quotes from my cryptic book. "Doctors believe that the alignment of Jupiter, a warm and moist planet, and Mars, a hot and dry planet, were the root cause of pestilence. When this alignment occurred, Mars ignited the excessive moisture from Jupiter and these rays rained down on the earth thus affecting the miasma. However, Saturn also figured into this portent, as he does in Piers Plowman.” AND ALSO, as Geoffrey de Meaux said all those years ago, “I do not wish to imply that the mortality comes only from Saturn and Jupiter but rather through Mars, which was mixed with them at the time of eclipse.” (Horrox 171) by the time coronavirus was infecting and killing too many people, mars is conjunct jupiter with a 5 degrees orb. so when the pestilence was rising, the conjunction was mad tight. seems like these old dogs were kinda right, weren’t they? we also have chiron square north node with like a 0° 0’ orb - the archetypes of karmic fate and pain/wounds are clashing hard. another aspect that shouldn’t be overlooked is sun cojunction neptune in pisces. this whole thing is unfolding when neptune is in its own sign and is very strong. this indicates the strong panic and misinformation going on rn and how people, even now, are not quite sure whether this whole pandemic thing isn’t just a hoax, an illusion, and are living their lives as if nothing’s happening - or panicking so hard as if the world is coming to an end. anyway this got super long as it is so i’m moving to the second part with the prognosis and i’m gonna keep it short there.

Moon/cancer in the third house: man they’re pretty easy to pin! Aha this is the emotionally expressive couple! The ones who seem like they could brake into tears at any moment when you see them talking to one another! This is such a adorable position and makes both partners very deeply receptive to each others feelings at all times mad or not. They tend to stray from direct eye contact and look when the other isn’t-eye contact from what I’ve seen seems to be made at moments of distress between the couple or rage. They talk with their feelings and can often create an atmosphere without even realizing it. i LOVE scorpio venuses, so yes i absolutely think there’s so many positives! here are some things i love about scorpio venus:

very in-tune with their loved ones moods & emotions: they have really good intuition when it comes to their friends & partners moods, feelings, etc. they’re able to sense out how their loved ones feel without them having to say it, and are able to comfort them/act accordingly

I feel like it is very fated to have contacts with any of these in synastry. This is because the north node is our highest potential and what we should be climbing towards, the south node, meanwhile, is what we are naturally like and what we naturally cling onto. Similarly, in my opinion, the midheaven is what we strive to be like and the ic is how we naturally are/behave. So, to have contacts, specifically personal planets or one of these to someone else’s, seems like destiny. Whether they feel like someone from your childhood or a past life (ic and south node) or someone you wish you could be like and believe will bring you closer to who you want to be (mc and north node), this person will likely be highly important in your life. 

For example, my boyfriend’s venus and mars conjunct my mc/oppose my ic, his saturn and pluto square both my mc/ic. the venus-mc conjunction is .36 degrees, which is our tightest aspect. his mars is also conjunct my north node/opposite my south, his uranus opposite my north node/conjunct my south, and his chiron square both. 

My sun and mercury are opposite his mc/conjunct his ic. my chiron and asc are trine his mc. my mars and jupiter are square his north and south nodes, while jupiter trines the north.

We have been dating for about eight months, but it feels like it has been much longer and it does not feel like it will end anytime soon. I often feel that even if we broke up, we would meet again at some point or find it hard to avoid each other; it feels very much so like he was purposefully brought into my life.
