No, the solar reservoirs only work on Kryptonians or similar species (like Boy Thunder) that are empowered by sunlight. The reason they were used is because in Kandor, Kryptonians don't have powers, so the reservoir tech channels sunlight into the wearer. Lena won't be getting powers beyond what she's already been doing with her super-smarts and gadgets.

She wasn't based on anyone, no. I actually put less effort into her design than I usually do because originally after she transformed into Shadoweyes I never thought I'd be drawing her human form again, so I didn't want to "waste" a design on her, if that makes sense. Since I ended up drawing a lot of random pics of her human form and she wound up turning back that form in the next book, I put more thought into her design and refined it a bit.

There was no collab with Gail or Mark at all, no, I had no idea what they were doing and I didn't even get to read their stories until the issue came out! I was a little surprised at the different takes they both had on the orphanage, interesting juxtaposition. I don't think it'll change how I write it in the main series if it comes up again.

The main inspirations are the 1972 series by Cary Bates, Art Saaf, Vince Coletta, and Arnold Drake, and the Adventure Comics from around that same time. Everyone felt like they were on fire in those comics.

Does Daigoro count? He's joint Toho/Tsuburaya but he's the big one I'd love to do. Rodan, Anguirus, Mechanikong, and Gabara are also high on the list.

Thank you so much! Some of them were based on outfits from the cartoon or the dolls and I'd take them and make alterations to them in my own style, and some I just made up. There wasn't really a secret to it, it's just what I thought would look cool and be fun to draw and what would fit the characters and overall tone.

I consider people getting tattoos of my work to be a huge honor!! I love it, I think it's great.

I like their designs a lot but I confess I've never actually read any of the comics they're in so I don't know much about them at all.

Thanks! I love designing a million different costumes. My original idea when I first got the Supergirl job was that Kara would have a different costume in every issue. As for Luminary, the beauty of her costume being made of super-substance is that she can change it up whenever she wants! ;)

Thank you so much!! Which crossover are you talking about? Supergirl/Lobo or the Zod stuff? Either way, both of them have certain considerations that are different than the usual process, like in both cases there's much more external input from editorial and other writers. Like for Supergirl/Lobo I had to make sure it didn't contradict anything in Lobo #4 which it's a direct sequel to. Some aspects of the story are dictated to me on some level, like certain beats I have to cover, around which I can do whatever and fill the rest up with my own stuff. The Zod crossover has been fun but particularly difficult at times because there are so many moving parts and it's easy to get our wires crossed.

Summer of Supergirl!! I don't have any artwork in it but I wrote a Supergirl/Lobo story (guest starring Princess Shark and Crush!) with art by Belén Ortega and Triona Farrell. :)

I don't really hear voices when I'm writing, no! I've been asked this question a bunch over the years but I still never hear the characters' voices in my head. -_-

That would be fun, I still like that design! I'm pretty turtled out at the moment, I'll confess, I can't see myself being excited to draw any TMNT stuff any time soon, but you never know when the mood might strike me.

Hi! I've thought about Linda Danvers a bit, there are no current plans to reference her or introduce her but it would definitely be fun. I've read a bunch of that series and I thought she was pretty cool as a character. I can't promise anything but we'll see!

For Alternate Future Leo, I imagined that he was either so distraught over the state of things that he couldn't be bear it, or that he had something in mind to fix things and went off on a quest to find it.
