petition to start using this

i wanna see a moomin but drawn like it was described to a medieval artist.

i think my problem is that i can't just pull a snufkin and spend three months out of each year wandering through nature in the contentment of my own solitude, marveling alone and quiet at the way birds sing and stars turn and light falls through forest branches, passing through towns where i talk to the locals just enough that we no longer feel mysterious to each other, playing music by riverbanks under the bright moonlight, only to return from my travels rejuvenated and yearning to tell all the stories i've gathered to my warm and understanding boyfriend, whose anchoring presence is the closest i will get to letting myself use the word home

my favorite thing about the moomins is that their domestic cottagecore aesthetic is basically just a cover for the fact that they’re actually like 2 degrees of separation from going full feral at any one time and literally everyone knows it

something i love about the moomins series is how everyone comments on how moomin misses snufkin terribly whenever he goes away, and not only are they right, but it's actually an understatement, because as soon as snufkin leaves for winter moomin literally spends every waking moment sighing and looking wistfully towards where he went and writing him letters like a lovesick romance novel protagonist
