Soooooo I keep seeing “make money quick online” and “round-up money apps!!!” ads on my dash from accounts, and many of these are paid-for/sponsored ads for apps that may or may not be as legitimate as the ads claim. 

Just be careful and do your research; there are some legitimate ones and some that aren’t. If you ARE looking for a savings-related money round-app, I do personally recommend Acorns. I’ve been using them since September 2016, and I love it. In addition to an investment account (which will round-up purchases on linked cards to the nearest dollar. Once those round-ups reach $5, it deposits that $5 from your linked card into your investment account), it also recently began including an optional retirement account and debit account for users. Not to mention, Acorns’ “Found Money” program is a nice little way to receive a small percentage/kickback/rebate deposited directly into your investment account when you make purchases from their partnered companies, and these transactions are automatic when you use your linked card. They recently started adding local businesses to the program as well as major retailers.

As someone who works a part-time job in addition to freelance work, having the retirement account has been a comfort for my future. I also use their debit account and as a small perk, the card you get is titanium and beautiful and I get lots of compliments on it. So just gonna throw out my recommendation for a service I’ve been using and loving for several years.
