Valko being canceled is setting a precedent for both studios and fans. It tells toxic players if they go unhinged enough and make enough fake reports and spread enough false information, they can get their way.

What if the next myth of your LI is hated and gets canceled? What if a feature you like gets removed? What if the skin tones and hairstyles you wanted don't get added because it offends CN? In your mind, you think, "It could never happen to the OT5!" Guess what? It can. If toxic CN girls want to get your LI's event removed, they can do that; Infold has shown they will allow it if pushed enough.

This is very "old man yells at cloud" but the way fandom and fan culture has just.... DISINTEGRATED over the years holy fucking hell. People don't know how to interact with creative companies at all. THE ENTITLEMENT. THE HARASSMENT. "if I can't have what i want the no one can" is the mantra of the last decade istg.

We joke all the time that the ancient texts of don't like don't read are lost but they really fucking are. They really are. The puritanical way people try to have anything removed from the face of the earth if they don't like it is WILD behavior. And as a decently adjusted individual that knows how to separate fiction from reality, I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THESE MFS CAN BE SO UNHINGED ABOUT THINGS THEY CAN STOP INTERACTING WITH.

This isn't limited to LADS ofc, but seeing as I've never had the displeasure of seeing a company crumpled under a fraction of its own player base like this before, it is a today.

i understand the desire for a main story update first, but it's important to remember that a new LI comes with a massive amount of story update.

i understand that there's missing content for sylus and caleb, but if the 6th LI is the last to be added, there's actually more of a chance for them all to catch up together.

i think we need the boys to be complete in order to really move forward with the story.

i know there's been a lot of feelings about reruns, whether folks feel there are too few or too many. as someone with a long history playing paperfold games, let me just say that love and deepspace has been insanely quick to offer reruns.

i get the disgruntlement of the short length and high cost of reruns. i feel it even as a longtime player. but it also feels like infold decided to give a lot more reruns this year than they have with any previous games i've played.

it feels like they want new players to have a chance to catch up with the game lore before the 6th LI arrives. yes, there's a lot of money grabbing also. but it's seriously surprising that we have gotten as many reruns as we have at this point.

infold is always going to be too greedy, that's nothing new. with all 6 boys in the game, though, there's a good chance we're going to see some serious forward movement in the storyline and in gameplay.

if I had to guess, there are things that have been held back and pushed out specifically to accommodate for the massive rise in players over the last two years. love and deepspace is doing incredibly well, and i can only imagine the amount of calendar management that has gone on behind the scenes to adjust for it.

i've spent some time revisiting early memories and events recently. for all the complaints about sylus and caleb lacking content quantity, they aren't lacking in content quality.

as a xavier main from the start, i actually feel like sylus and caleb have more content that contains significant depth and momentum than xavier or rafayel do. yes, there's less overall for the newer LIs, but the original 3 feel like they're trying to catch up in terms of quality at times.

This is all my personal perspective, obviously. But it's felt like I've been expecting the 6th LI for ages now, just to finally get things moving forward.

I'm excited for Valko, whether I end up adding him to my star/fish/crow collection or he ends up chilling in the background with zayne and caleb. he's not going to take anything away from the game. his arrival means change. change is uncomfortable but usually necessary for things to grow and evolve.
