holmes/watson is perhaps the only ship I ship where I concede the sex sucks. which is fine. they love each other. they’re highly sexually incompatible but they make concessions. watson would never reproach holmes for his bony ass and pillow princess ways. once or twice a year is less intimacy than watson would like but he loves holmes and holmes loves him. watson finds holmes irresistibly sexy and holmes thinks sex is a bit of a waste of time but finds watson’s attraction to him very flattering.

holmes is highly romantic in his own way, flirts in ways watson isn’t quite aware of. they like to link arms. they’re fond of kisses. they usually sleep together. they often hold each other on the couch in the evenings. the sex is bad but the domesticity is good and the love is there.

Anything that puts all of the child's power onto the parents' hand, anything that assumes parents are going to inherently do enough of a good job no one else needs to interfer, every single one of these IS going to be used by controlling, neglectful or unprepared parents and already are, and if the system did not account for that very real, tangible, dangerous tendency, then it's not worth fucking anything. You shouldn't make things "for the youth"/with children in mind if you are going to overlook this painfully common aspect of their lives u_u
