azzi’s being so disproportionately affected by this. i guarantee most of these people wouldn’t dare speak towards paige this way (and this is not hate towards paige, so don’t get it twisted).

Realistically I think they will say something but they’ll be damned if they do and damned if they don’t. I can’t already see the narratives either way they approach it

This isn’t in anyway a dig at Paige (who I think has handled their whole relationship and this situation with class and tried to not make it about her) but a commentary on the media/fans/psychos. It’s noteworthy that it is both the femme and (probably more importantly) the black woman in the relationship that media feel within their rights to speak to like this. Just a reminder that misogynoir is and always will be rife in media, and undermines any ‘legitimate’ or ‘journalistic integrity’ arguments people try and make - you cannot divorce Azzi’s identity from the way this is being reported.
