+ Driven, Methodical. - Cold, Self-Indulgent.
While their internet persona may show off a certain charming warmth, Momo has never been able to bring that level of social charisma to their real life - and they generally have no desire to. They've given up on trying to impress anyone, regardless of who they are, which tends to make the act of friend-making difficult. They are a very good listener and enjoy being physically around their friends, but getting to that point can be difficult.
A R R I V A L — ( 2012 )
When Momo's parents split, her father went West and she went with him; she hasn't left for longer than a vacation since. They still have to drop in to New York occasionally, when they can't get out of an in-person meeting with a new client, but they avoid the Chelsea area and K-Town at all costs.
E X T R A B I T S —
- Sort of approaches people like they're dolls. She struggles to keep herself from manipulating situations, and can't quite make the connection that what they're doing is actually manipulative. It's something they've worked with their therapist on for a very long time, but it will plague them forever due to their inability to read between the lines emotionally.
- Needs everything to be very clean despite falling into messiness. The cycle is: clean room -> uses space -> space gets messy -> they're unable to be productive due to messy room -> 2-3 days of paralyzing depression and inability to do anything about the messy room -> panic sets in and they finally clean -> room is clean again and they're able to be productive -> repeat.
- Always able to put space between themselves and other people around her. If someone gets too close she subtly moves away, keeping a nice orbit around her body to avoid getting upset.
- Is not a furry but often connects with other hackers in those spaces. She helped SiegedSec back in 2022 despite not quite fitting into their other binaries.

seeking:
- a roommate. their living situation is likely very spacious, a two floor situation in a rented house, but they've never lived Alone Alone and prefer the sound of someone walking around on the other side of the house than being completely by themselves
- a couple of good friends, perhaps made through the internet before their move? also some friends made the old fashioned way
- people they've had negative interactions with. they can be kind of cold, and likely have at least one friendship that came to an end because of it.
B A C K G R O U N D —
tw: parental emotional neglect,
- adopted by an older korean couple who couldn’t get pregnant - mom was 40 when the adoption went through, dad was 43
- raised her bilingual although the environment was pretty americanized - grew up in NYC and spent a lot of time wandering koreatown though her parents apartment was in chelsea
- feels like she was raised more by family friends than her parents once she was old enough to go out on her own - feels like her mom lost interest in her once she wasn’t a cute little girl anymore. tbh was never a Cute Little Girl Anyway. diagnosed with autism quite young - she had selective speech, choosing mostly to converse with the therapist she was assigned and ONLY about topics she cared about. did not enjoy being touched in a coddling way, but would allow herself to be picked up and moved from space to space (until about 8 years old).
- because her father was a tech mogul she got involved and interested with tech at a young age - discovering the internet and growing up there was hugely impactful on her. she was definitely in online spaces she shouldn’t have been and definitely scarred herself doing it but mostly it was a very positive thing - she made friends and came out of her shell in real life because of the big social things she was doing online. in general, the internet was way easier for them because they felt they could accurately gauge what people were feeling because all they had were words instead of facial expressions
- their relationship with their father was always better than with their mother. he, too, was withdrawn and quiet, and when they were alone they could sit in silence without it being heavy or awkward. momo’s mother on the other hand always tried to push momo, to fix them, and it made momo feel both confused and upset as a child and then angry and despondent as a young adult. when momo's parents separated (never divorced), they lived mainly with their father until eventually living on their own. communication with her mother is minimal - an effort on both of their parts.
- momo's interest in the computer and TV started very young. one of their first hyperfixations was power rangers, which led to her constantly seeking more information on the internet, which led her down community board rabbit holes, which, of course, had her talking to adults way before they should've ever been talking with adults. teens, too, of course! it was power rangers after all!
- fandom as a concept became familiar, and momo found themselves in chat rooms and community boards for various interests as they popped up. through these paths they learned how to code, how to edit, how to use photoshop... all in the name of keeping up with the one social factor they enjoyed: fandom.
- these skills of course led to their accomplishments in both technical pursuits and real actual jobs, which is how they've found their niche in freelancing graphic design & marketing videos. they're beginning a foray into movie trailer editing after their successes with a fan video for challengers.
- they're not room-locked, though. growing up in nyc meant that time spent in nature was sacred, respected. while the family would often take trips to the adirondack mountains in the summers, it was never enough. the move to aurora bay helped with their claustrophobic feeling from the city, allowing them a backyard to lay in while listening to music or podcasts.

Kaede hadn’t made the drink order yet for his daughter so he had time to spend playing the game. He’d been wanting to find her something to play that maybe her and Layla could also play together. Maybe it was his age but he had no idea what the game was she’d just mentioned.
“ I’m okay with playing that but you’re gonna have to tell me what it is? “ @momo-wi
🎮 Pixelscape: If muse could star in their very own video game, what type of game would it be? If they are already a video game character, what types of video games do they/would they like to play?
"I would be an excellent protagonist in a detective RPG. I think I'm sensible and observant enough, though perhaps not as charismatic as some leads. I'll play most games once, no matter the genre. Puzzle games are most interesting to me. Have you played Inscryption? That's been my obsession most recently."
The way the space in the empty booth across from him is taken without asking has Aiden slowly lifting his eyes from his phone, though his chin remains tilted down toward his chest until it registers who it is across from him.
Then, their choice of greeting has him sitting back, and he stares at her petulantly, his mouth opening to throw an insult back her way and only stopping when Momo presents whatever it was they were looking for.
Oh.
"What the fuck," he mumbles more to himself, and he leans forward to look at it from a better vantage, his gaze shifting up to Momo for a split second before back down to the image. "Yeah, it's my hand."
He clears his throat and falls back against the booth, picking the picture up to look at it more.
There it is with the Monster can and the spilt beverage, and the asphalt beneath it all. That dirty, grimy alley way where Aiden recalls what he thinks is the weirdest interaction he's had to date, and he's ended up in some weird situations.
"Were you just carrying it around waiting to find me?" It's placed back down on the table and slid over to them. "Here."
"I was carrying it around in case I found you, yes," Momo clarifies. "I wasn't looking."
A few blinks is all they can muster for an initial reaction to the photo being returned. Does he not like it? Is he angry? Momo finds it hard to read anyone but this man is particularly elusive - mostly because he's held the same expression since the moment they met.
"You don't want it?" Their eyes study his, attempting to parse out why it might be that he's giving it back. "It's a good picture. It isn't my best work because I was being rushed, but the composition is fine, and I caught the lighting well."
Momo doesn't reach for the photo. It's his: she'd saved it for him. They have their own copy at home, alongside the rest of the photos from that roll of film.
"Are you angry that I said you smelled like refried beans? It wasn't a personal attack. You really did smell like refried beans." A pause; they tilt their head. "I apologize for letting you know that you smelled like beans."
Noah is about three steps from the booth when he turns to look at Momo with a scoff and a mimic of 'your money is no good here'. He doesn't push it, however, because he knows better than to try. Instead, he finds the walls of games and skims his fingers over the weathered boxes until he finds it.
When he returns and starts to lay out the board, he almost doesn't realize her return.
"A snack too?" He bites his tongue before he insists on sliding the ten back over and nods with gratitude. "Oh, right. Deal's a deal, and first thing, I messed up the name of the game. It's Pandemic, not Quarantine."
Noah spins the box cover around to face Momo. "Big picture first is we're a disease control team, there's a contagion spreading, and the board is the world. Cities get infected, and our players have different tasks and abilities to help contain outbreaks." He points to the player cards that are face up until he grabs them to shuffle for them to draw. "Goal is discover a cure before the world is infected, but if too many outbreaks happen then we lose together."
The card Noah draws reads 'Field Operative'.
Noah slides a role card toward her facedown. "I can walk you through the first play through, and if you hate it, we can always pick something else."
Momo's job pays more than Noah's does. It's an unarguable fact, and one they've relayed when he's attempted to pay for things that Momo's already offered to buy, but it's also not usually met with an agreeable tone, so this time, they choose to keep quiet about it. If he wants to slide Momo a ten, and Momo wants to secretly slip the ten back into his bag when he gets up to use the restroom, then that's the way it's going to be between them.
"If I hate it, we'll still finish. That's the point of playing a game. Now: let's discover a cure."
The game goes well. It's not difficult to grasp and Momo was right about making a good team with Noah, though that's not surprising considering their long and successful video gaming history.
"A joint victory, as expected." Momo smiles: a real one, a rare one. "I'm impressed at your tactics. I don't ever want to play it again, but this was an excellent experience."
Momo pushes the empty bowl of cauliflower out of the way so they can help clean up the mess.
"We should start coming here sometimes instead of always playing online. Not often - I prefer being in my own home - but it was nice to be able to strategize in person."

closed starter for andy acosta ( @andyacostas )
-> ocean crest apartments, outside andy's door
When the door opens, Momo doesn't immediately say anything. They aren't the type to go socializing with neighbors in this way. That's why they'd been so reactive when Andy had first moved in and made her way down the line of doors, eventually coming face to face with an unimpressed Momo; it's 2026, who brings presents to the strangers in their apartment complex.
Now, it's Momo's turn to return the favor, in the most Momo way they possibly can.
"Hello." Panic. "I don't enjoy baking. The process is fine, but the mess is overwhelming. I decided to make cucumber salad instead. If you don't like cucumbers, that's fine, I'm happy to take them back."
Momo shoves forth the glass tupperware and hopes Andy can tell it's an act of goodwill.
"I... Didn't try the cookies you made me. I was worried about the texture. But I'm thankful that you made an attempt to reach out as a neighbor and now that's what I'm doing for you."
closed starter for aiden stevens ( @aiden-stevens )
-> all nighter diner
It's late. Momo should be home, safe behind their computer, but the last few weeks of holiday time off spent with their father has them feeling particularly claustrophobic in their usual safe haven. A long walk through the dimly lit streets has (mostly) fixed that for now, but one additional treatment is in order.
Pancakes.
To-go, of course, so that they can sit in front of a screen while they poke at their banana-covered breakfast-dessert. Momo notes the quietness of the diner when they walk in, though the room feels very much alive despite the late hour. After giving their name and order to the waitress, she advises Momo find a spot to wait, as it would be a minute before it's ready. While they'd normally be content to stand off to the side, they've already spotted a familiar face at one of the booths, and while her company may not be desired, they decide to sit down across from him anyway; she has a gift for him after all.
"You don't smell as strongly today," Momo says frankly. They immediately begin rifling through their bag until they find the envelope full of various prints, which they lift onto the table so that they can get a better look inside. The photo she's looking for is close to the front, so it's found quickly, and just as quickly gets slid across the table to the grumpy line cook on the other side.
"Your hand," she says simply. "I told you I'd let you see the picture if we ever ran into each other again, so here it is."
King - How far into their darker side would your muse go to achieve their goals?
"I wouldn't say I'm happy to push people aside so that I might make upward movement in my field but I am happy when I get what I feel I deserve, even when it comes at the expense of someone else. In general, when I make choices about my life, I'm not usually weighing anyone else's life alongside my own, which a lot of people view as selfish or dark as it is. I only hurt people on purpose if they deserve it."
Ten - How does your muse react to unexpected things happening to them?
"It depends on the severity of the unexpected thing. I don't enjoy getting off schedule, or having to change gears when I'm excited about doing something. I do enjoy the sporadic strange interactions I have with people, though. I'm okay with those."
Aiden's face screws into an expression of contempt. "And you asked because I asked if you needed to here it before fucking off." Whether she does or doesn't, it's no skin off his nose.
"Dunno, you seemed like the sort who would linger all awkward and shit when you really wanted to go off. The whole frog thing seemed pretty important."
The disconcerting way she remains unbudging in front of him, though, has Aiden almost wishing she did take off. When he hears the shutter click of the camera, he is about to let out a slew of expletives except he is cut off by a quick, rather succinct, affirmation that the photo isn't of him.
His mouth snaps shut and Aiden scoots back some more, scraping the milk crate along the asphalt so he can stand up. The Monster is left in the ground, and he takes a long drag of the cigarette before letting his arm hang by his side, the ember of it facing away from his jeans.
"I don't know what you're gonna do with the picture, but we don't know each other. It's weird to have a stranger's picture, especially all formally with an actual camera and not a phone pic or something."
He waves down to the camera in her hands and blows the smoke away from the both of them. "I don't even know what that means, so you should go find someone who likes posing and shit. It's not me."
“I wouldn’t. I tend to do exactly as I please, no matter the circumstances. That’s why I came over to talk. It’s why I asked to take your picture. I don’t need anyone’s permission, but I prefer to get it when my desires might cross boundaries I’m not aware of.”
The sound of the crate across asphalt once again renders Momo temporarily frozen; their face pinches and they resist the urge to cover their ears because the sound is over before it’s worth combating. From their spot on the ground, she blinks up at the man above her. Even she can tell he’s frustrated, or annoyed, or some sort of negative emotion that’s prickling him up like a cactus, and despite their rather forward way of life, Momo isn’t seeking to cause problems.
“You’re putting too much stock into this. Photographers take pictures of strangers all the time, and I disagree that it’s weirder to do with a professional camera; I’d be far more upset to find a man with my photo in his personal iPhone collection than stumbling upon an artistic portrait of myself in a stranger’s gallery display.” Momo looks past the man’s legs, through the gap their thinness creates in front of her, and stares at a distant yet distinctly frog-shaped blob at the other end of the alley. Finally, they stand as well.
“I don’t work for JC Penny. I have no interest in taking pictures of people posing or showing off a persona they lift when a lens is pointed their way. I asked to take a photo of you because you drew me in; you’re dirty, and you smell like refried beans, and there’s rice stuck to your non-slip shoes, but I like the way you looked under the streetlamp.” Momo still does. He’s a modern portrait of mid-shift exhaustion and it’s a shame he’s so angry about it. “I’ll keep a copy of the photo I took in case I see you again. If you’ll excuse me, I’m leaving now; my original subject seems to be waiting for me.”
With that, Momo steps over the puddle of spilled Monster and makes their way down the alley.

There's a bit of disappointment on Dorian's face when they say that it's a game best played alone. To him, it sounds fun to play a game that takes awhile between turns, but he understands that he enjoys many things that others do not. "Alright, well, I don't mind..." He motions for them to wait as he goes and retrieves one of the chess games. Setting the game down between them, a smile appears, "I don't mean to brag, but I actually made this one, well, I restored it." The video of him restoring it got a whopping 250 views on Youtube, but he isn't bothered. It's about the journey, not the views.
Momo sits patiently to wait as told, then tracks Dorian's return, eyes locked curiously on the board in his hands.
"You restore chess boards?" they ask, reaching without permission to touch the game he's delivered. "I'm surprised you decided to bring it to Well Played. People play with food all over their fingers and coffee rings on the tables; aren't you worried about someone ruining your hard work?"
"Hmm, I think I could get into it," he nodded as they explained the game. It sounded rather intriguing, and he was willing to learn something new. Board games were a whole new world introduced to him in the last couple of years. Monopoly was by far his favorite, and he enjoyed learning Clue.
"How do you play it solo, though? I thought the point of board games was to play with others." Then again, his family could become rather competitive, and he's been a witness to relationships being severed all because of Uno. "I would like to keep the remnants of my ego intact, but if you would like to tag team against my twin sisters, I would appreciate all the help I can get."
"I should be more clear. I don't want to play Cascadia with anyone else, you included." Momo says this softly, though quite matter-of-fact. It's nothing personal. Their face twists as they consider his point. "The point of board games is to play a game that involves a board. Many games marketed towards multiple players are able to be enjoyed alone, though I believe there's much more entertainment in the aspect of friendly competition."
Momo hums. Team games don't usually appeal to them unless they're sure their partner is on their level, and they have no way of knowing if this man can meet that internal criteria.
"I'd be happy to help you take down your sisters. Being born with a twin sibling is an unfair advantage; you deserve an advantage of your own. If we're going for a team game, I highly recommend Codenames - mostly due to the fact I've played it enough to know strategy."
Kaede had been on a hunt for something to get his daughter. She’d still loved all her drawing and art projects but she had mentioned a drink at the game cafe and he wanted to make sure she had it in time for pick up. “ oh how long ? “ Kaede asked because he was willing to play he just wanted to make sure he’d have enough time and time to pick up his daughter. “ not that I don’t want to it’s just I have to pick up my daughter in an hour “ @momo-wi
Momo studies the man before them and then turns to study the game wall with equal intensity.
"Something short, then. We could play Bananagrams. The rounds only take about 10-15 minutes depending on how quickly you can come up with words." Momo's hand hovers over the banana-shaped letter bag before taking it from the shelf. "Don't feel pressured, though. I wouldn't want to keep you."
"No," Aiden just about scoffs, but the bluntness of her question does manage to earn an amused snort mixed in with the sound.
He looks at her again, and there isn't much for him to go off of, other than she was looking for a frog in a back alley behind some buildings and wielding a camera, and now much closer than before. Not that Aiden minds, she isn't encroaching so much on his space he feels caged in.
He makes a sound with the brief raise of his brows, something that sounds like a noncommittal 'hm' and takes another long drag of his cigarette.
"Fuck off," Aiden drawls in the exhale. "Or don't, I don't care. You can make your own decisions. Least I'm sure you're capable, aren't you?"
There is a pride felt when she says he 'seems the type', and great. At least he hasn't lost that air about him even if he's not thrown threats out in a long time, or thrown a punch in even longer.
Until she's at eye level, and Aiden leans back from his originally slouched posture, his frown deepening. It's hard to hold her gaze, though Aiden tries until he busies himself with another drag and his free hand searching for his can of Monster. In the fidget, the tips of his fingers knock it over so it fizzles out on the asphalt.
"Wha— fuck, no. No! You cannot take my picture. That's fucking creepy."
There is a strange satisfaction in that answer. They can't quite parse out what exactly the noise he made is, but there's a glint in his eye that makes Momo feel as if he's not as spiky about the whole interaction as his grumpy facade makes him seem.
Even when he says fuck off it doesn't land like he means it, further proven when he's framed it as a suggestion. Yes, Momo can make their own decisions, and yes, those decisions often get her into some sort of trouble. The desire to give into curious impulses will always win out over holding herself to some kind of imaginary standard for interactions with strangers.
"That feels contrived. You're only saying it because I asked if you would."
Momo watches as Aiden leans back, their own posture staying the same - neither leaning forward nor moving back, perfectly content to stare from exactly where they are as they await response. Her attention drifts only when Aiden's fumbling sends the can horizontal; a stream of liquid pushes slowly across the pock-marked ground toward her skirt hem, though Momo makes no effort to get out of the way. Instead, they lift their camera up - despite the man's loud protests - and snap a quick photo of the spill, the tilted can, and the bony hand reaching for it.
"You're not in it," Momo dismisses quickly as she lets the camera hang back round her neck, which is technically a lie as his hand most definitely was in the frame, very purposefully so, but is only a small fib and therefore permissible. Their piercing attention finds his eyes once more before speaking again. "Is it creepy because the action of photographing a subject is? or because you think I'm going to do something weird with the photo later?"
She pauses, considering him - wonders if he favors the truth.
"I take pictures of things that interest me. Usually animals, like the frog who escaped me. People, sometimes." Momo subtly moves the hem of their skirt as Monster energy dares to wet it along its path. "I simply find you... visually compelling."
"You won't win if we play Cascadia. If you'd like a fair shot, I'd recommend a game you're familiar with." Momo gives a little shrug. "It's not everybody's speed, either. The feedback I usually get is 'boring'."

Noah slides everything back a smidge so Momo can have enough space on the other side of the table. "Uh, yeah. For our next session, and—" He pauses at the name thrown his way, and no offense is taken. He just laughs out a, "Hey, you're one, too!"
In her own ways. It's part of why Noah likes being around Momo, they can relate in many ways. And he can appreciate her cadence, and her to-the-point way of conversation.
"It can be, unless we really mess it up. We draw roles, and we have to prevent a contagion from infecting the world. Either we do it, or we don't, hence the teamwork aspect of it."
He slips out of the booth, "Get a snack, or you can wait and see. But if you do, uh, here." He pulls out a ten dollar bill. "Can you get me an acai refresher? And I'll go find the game on the shelves."
A nerd, indeed. They tended to flock to each other, hence why Momo and Noah have forged their quiet friendship with both ease and depth. They may not share every interest - the day Momo considers playing Dungeons and Dragons (and roleplaying out loud) is the day she should be taken in for a brain scan and possible dissection.
"I have complete faith in our ability to out-think this game. If we don't, we'll play again."
Easy as that. You can't lose if you never give up on the chance of winning.
Momo rises from the table before Noah's finished offering them the options, and when a ten dollar bill appears, she turns up her nose.
"Your money is no good here. I will buy you the acai refresher in exchange for a rundown of the rules of Quarantine and an explanation of what your next session is about."
They disappear then, returning a handful of minutes later with said refresher and a bowl full of buffalo cauliflower pieces to poke at while they play.
"Okay. I'm ready for you to make good on your half of the trade."
"I will most definitely play a game with you." Celine replied, feeling a little bad for the other. "But I think you can make a better choice than me. There are many interesting options here and I'm afraid the only ones I've played are the basic ones -like Monopoly and Clue."
"There is nothing wrong with Monopoly or Clue. In fact, the better you know a game, the more fun you can have outwitting the other player. Wouldn't you rather enjoy the challenge of a well-matched partner than the challenge of learning a game I'll most certainly beat you in?"
