Sunny daze, Sunny days, Sundays … Happy Sunday everyone :)
Unmoored
The piece meant to convey an emotion through strategic layered imagery. To feel “unmoored“ is to feel unsettled, detached, and insecure, and the composition of text/artistic elements reflects such. In this project I collaged various photographs to create a new image. Since my collage played with perspective I decided the emotion I was going to interweave into it would be unmoored. From there I used vinyl and the distortion of those letter forms to further push that insecure, confused, detached, and unmoored feeling.
This piece was also featured in Illinois State University’s 2022 Student Annual Exhibition at University galleries
International Women’s Day Calendar
This project was to take an international holiday and formulate a calendar around it. I choose International Women’s Day to celebrate all of the powerful women in the world. Within the words are collaged photos of influential women, historical women rights fighters and activists today, women who have made strides in their dominantly male careers, and all the women essential workers who have helped our society thrive during the pandemic.
Fear the Bird 2022
The development of the 2022 design for the Fear the Bird Shirt was part of my internship with Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality. This is an annual campaign where the designs are voted on by the students and then used on various ephemera. Before coming with my own designs I worked with previous iterations as we celebrated the 15th Anniversary of the Fear the Bird, the final result was an homage to previous designs as well as a look forward to the future branding of EMDH and Fear the Bird.

EMDH Event Signage 2021-2022
The Department of Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality at Illinois State is the largest employer as it is the combined responsibilities of Campus Dining and the Bone Student Center. As a Student Marketing Specialist I was a part of EMDH’s marketing team and tasked with creating innovative and interactive design for each event we host. Below you can see some of the signage I created for various events. Each event needed digital, print and animations for instagram stories.
Atlanta, Illinois 2021
As part of my time with Illinois State’s Design Streak Studio, I designed numerous ephemera items with a team of fellow student-designers for the rebrand of our semester client, the city of Atlanta, Illinois. We split into teams and I collaborated with Megan McGowan and Amanda Haubenreiser to create a modern logo based on the city's aesthetic. We incorporated modern design elements with a more retro color scheme to express the 60’s idealistic Americana aesthetic that the city prides itself on. I produced a mural for this long term project entitled “Midway on Illinois’ Mother Road” featuring a retro car traveling between Chicago and St.Louis through Atlanta on Route 66. Our studio Director was impressed by the graphics I made so much so that elements of this particular piece were incorporated into the rest of the semester’s signage for consistency.
CCE Internship 2021
One of the main project was creating various Icons to teach the different types of Civic Engagement. For this project I had to collaborate with the whole team to get opinions on what civic engagement meant for them and how each category should be portrayed. Civic Engagement should be a Universal practice for individuals so I wanted to keep the globe iconography consistent throughout the icons.
CCE Internship 2021
The CCE also host the Alternative Breaks program that brings ISU’s civic engagement ideologies to other countries to make a difference. As part of my minor in Civic Engagement I engaged in various deliberative dialogues hosted by teachers, however in the upcoming year the Center was expanding the conversation to be student led so I created eye catching stickers for those leaders to promote and get the conversation started.
Tonight, I choose to be happy.
