Lately. Just haven’t been feeling okay.

So I love thrift shopping. You guys have no idea. It’s my new thing. The vintage look and all I love it. Anyway, I’ve been looking for mom jeans for so long (I love the high waist and the color and everything about them) so I went thrift shopping with my Aunt yesterday, and I found mom jeans. Perfect fit. Perfect color and make my butt “pop”. I bought them. Perfect price like 4 something dollars. I was about to put them on this morning, THEY HAVE MY NAME SEWN ON THEM. It was meant to be.

She has a mind that never stops moving. Never stops running. She hardly sleeps but when she does her brain does summersaults, and flips, and cartwheels. Thinking of the what ifs and instead this and that. The if only, the if I, the instead me. She feels alone. Lost. Hurt. Confused. The lullabies don't work anymore. The past has stained her thoughts of everything. A stain that won't come out. No matter how many thing have been done to remove them. They stay. Slowly the stains become bigger. Darker. If only, right? If I didn't, right?

You know. I hear about this all the time. People in public shaming women for not shaving. I've heard it in school and I've heard it online. But I never thought to hear it from my own uncle. I'm be very close with my family. We are all there for each other. But one thing the family does is judge each other. I don't know why. I've heard from my grandmother that I am "too fat" and got nasty looks while In a bikini. And let me just say it's taken me years to finally be comfortable in one. But today my uncle came up to me and said "Shave your arm pits" I looked at him and said no I'm good thank you. (Just to let you know. I shaved then not too long ago. It's not even long.) he said "It's nasty no one will like you" And I proceed to say that there was no one I was trying to impress so I see no reason. I looked him in the eyes and said "Why do women have to shave their arms, armpits, legs etc. , but it's okay if a man grows everything out. If I don't it's nasty and why is that?" And he said because I was a women. So I told him. "I'll shave my legs. My arms. My armpits once you do. Otherwise I'm just not going to." And he looked at me. Nodded. Gave me a handshake. And said that my little sister (only 13) and I will be hairy and nasty then. And I said cheers to that and smiled. I am very healthy. I eat healthy I regularly work out, and I am of a healthy weight. I don't have a perfect flat stomach, I don't have a thigh gap, but I'm definitely not over weight. :) Don't let anyone tell you how to look in your body. I've been told so many things are wrong with my body and I've changed so much and I never win. Love your body the way it is. If you want to shave, do it. If you don't, then don't. If boys want to wear makeup let them. If girls want to wear men's clothes let them. Do what you want. Wear what you want. Because at the end of the day. Who is in your room, your bed, you reflection, your skin. You.
