July 10th, 2018, one of the most heartbreaking days of my life as a Madridista. I would be lying if I said I didn’t see this coming given our club’s history. But I was hopeful, I was hopeful that the man who’s shattered so many expectations, the man who shocked us again again with his genius and magic would be an exception. I had hoped that we would at least fight to convince the best player in our history to stay. I had many hopes and wishes but none of them came true..instead I’m left heartbroken and empty. I don’t know what the future brings, but I know no one will ever be able to replace Cristiano. He is and always will be an extraordinary player and a huge part of our history. His name will always be remembered alongside the likes of Zizou and Don Alfredo. This is no ordinary club, and this was no ordinary player. Together, they made an incredible partnership that brought the world to its knees time and time again. Thank you Cristiano, thank you for your passion, your grit, your determination, your incredible outlook on life, your will to always keep fighting no matter how difficult things get and no matter how many obstacles life throws your way. Thank your for your loyalty, for all these moments you breathed life into us just when we thought all hope was lost. And most importantly, thank you for your MADRIDISMO. We all know how much you loved this club..this was a fairytale that no one wanted to end, but sadly things don’t always go our way. I wish you the very best of luck in the next stage of your journey and I hope you find happiness in everything you do. I am eternally grateful and in awe of not only the player you are, but also the amazing person you have become. Thank your for 9 wonderful and legendary years, I will cherish every second you’ve blessed us with.
