M.O.T.H - Westside Industrial

Sick & glorious & out today on slashsound, M.O.T.H’s Westside Industrial. In his sophomore recording, the Grand Rapids stalwart-turned-Brooklyn-transplant reflects on social and commercial patterns of a changing city. Drawing from firsthand perspectives of shifting demographics in Grand Rapids’ manufacturing district, the hyper-renovated factory town of East Williamsburg, and Hamtramck, a Detroit neighborhood with a long history of coexisting arts and commerce. The LP is a narrative response to the commodification of culture and the fallout that occurs when lifestyles are turned into brands in order to sell real estate.

Westside Industrial includes a 17-page digital booklet of photography, handwritten program notes, discourse between voices, and journal-style reflections compiled and produced by M.O.T.H. Get it HERE.
