Their mask doubles as glasses. They rarely wear them.

Yes, that is dried blood on the scythe. No, they have not used it to harm anyone. It came like that and they've barely been able to clean any of it.

Also, their cape was not made by a support agency. It came with the scythe.

Yes, that is an energy drink on their belt.

the top surgery scar-esque markings on their chest are not because they've had said surgery. They want it, yeah, but they haven't yet.

also, yes, they have a mask that doubles as glasses, but they don't usually wear it.

so while writing my novel I wrote a character who has a secret gardening hobby

And I may have developed a hyperfixation on gardening myself

as a result, I am redoing my grandfather's front garden. We spent almost $400 on flowers, pots, seeds, and soil stuff today.

I'm channeling my inner Xian this week, because summer school doesn't start until next Wednesday.

I would much rather someone be allowed to write the most disturbing, revolting fiction I’ve ever come across than be censored in any way, because any censorship at any time and/or in any way is a very slippery slope that leads to nothing good.

fiction will stay fiction. If you saw something gross in a fic, congrats! doesn’t hurt anyone in real life.

I will also say this: READ THE TAGS. HEED THE TRIGGER WARNINGS. IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, DON’T READ IT.

tags are there so you can understand whether or not you want to/are stable enough to read a fic.

If the author has tagged something that triggers you, even if there is not a dead dove: do not eat tag, and you decide to read it, you are reading at your own risk.

if you don’t like something in a fanfic, don’t read it. I, personally, although I am a multishipper, do not read fanfic about ships I like less. If a fanfic contains a ship you don’t sail, don’t read it.

I don't mean this in a self-hatred way.

I am a failure, specifically because I have so many in-progress fics that haven't been updated since 2023-2024.

Writer's block is a bitch, especially when you're trying to also write the rough draft of your first original novel.

I have exactly one (1) fic in the works, and I barely, if at all, have plans to continue previous fics. This one fic is not going to even be published until I know for certain that there are at least five chapters pre-written, edited, and maybe beta'd.

I'm contemplating whether or not I should release the first chapter of my novel. It's mildly well-written, but who knows if it's ready to be released.

it’s a queer dystopian high fantasy/sci-fi original novel. None of those things go together but it works. the five main characters are all POC and queer. Or they will be. And most of them are neurospicy.

there’s the autistic pre-transition rebellious traumatized wolf-kemonomimi mute crown prince (princess as of the first book) of the Japan-inspired country and their bipolar telepathic lesbian best friend who wields a greatsword that’s like a foot taller than her who’s of the elven race that’s based on South Asian/native American peoples.

we also got the non-binary vaguely bisexual (prefers fem ppl) albino dragon-hybrid (50% sky hybrid, 50% sea hybrid) audhd/cptsd fashion designer/wizard with crippled wings and the emo adhd devastatingly homosexual skydragon-hybrid sculptor who grows poisonous plants and flowers in his backyard. (Both dragon races are based on Korean and Chinese culture and peoples)

oh and also the black aroace deer-centaur scholar/scribe who speaks 7 languages (three of which are dead) fluently and is somehow the most neurotypical one of all of them.

I’ve been world-building for literally 4 years, and three? Chapters are done. Not beta read or edited, but done. Ish.
