If you’re following me on Tumblr, it’s probably for one of three things: Hermitcraft, Eurovision, or CATS the Musical. I’ve never made a proper sideblog, so this place is pretty messy … maybe hard to navigate, potentially … so here’s me trying for a little organisation!

Hermitcraft

Mob Fusion/Mob Glitch AU

Xisuma has spent years, and many server changes, collecting glitched players like himself, apparently. This AU features every Hermit as a glitched mob/Player fusion.

It already has a masterpost, as you might know if you’ve visited my blog anytime since twenty twenty, which can now be found here.

CATS

Jemima the Teenage Warlock AU

Jemima discovers that she has magic, and must contend with her growing power along with family drama, high school, and the threat of Macavity. This is a (mostly) human AU featuring Jemima as the main character, extremely loosely inspired by Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

The fic I’m writing for this is a very early stage WIP, but the art/ask tag can be found here.

I’m also a bit of a CATS non replica collector, and have a fair few archival/documentation posts of info and images from some of my favourite older productions, which I may try to organise to add to this post as well!

Electra

Similar design vibes, but CPAC Electra feels a bit older to me. Her overalls have a ‘Price & Son’ logo on it. Unsure if this is just a reference or an inherited costume piece.

Carbucketty/Pouncival

Both of these boys took their cues from Kilworth Carbucketty. Pouncival was a later addition to the cast following some ensemble members stepping down from the show.

Alonzo

CPAC Alonzo stayed a Boy Scout, but since Quaxo got Alonzo’s makeup, Alonzo seems to have gotten something based on Kilworth’s Coricopat. CPAC Alonzo is obviously a lot younger than Kilworth Admetus — I’d put him around the tenderfoot scout age range (they still used that rank in the forties, right). From what I can tell, his patch placement is not period accurate — based on his flag and World Scout Association badge positioning. Probably more like the eighties or something? He’s the other male character played by a woman in this prod.

Tantomile

I don’t have much to say on her — her makeup matches the concept art, the colour of her dress is the same as her final costume at Kilworth, but the style is obviously very different.

Coricopat

I do feel her costuming is at least somewhat inspired by the concept design for Coricopat, although she’s ultimately a very different character. CPAC Alonzo got a more clean version of Kilworth’s Coricopat makeup instead. CPAC Coricopat, on the other hand, has quite a few makeup and wig similarities to Jellylorum, so make of that what you will.

And that’s the last design comparison I have for you. A few other things, though!

Here’s my labelled cast pic. As far as I can tell, Hysperia and Victor both lack Kilworth inspiration. My question marked names are probably correct, I just didn’t want to be confident and wrong on main lol

Last thing:

This production featured Victoria as Young Grizabella. It’s hard to properly make out anything on the banner, but I’m fairly certain that Asparagus’ name appears on it.

Mistoffelees

Look, if nothing else were to convince you of CPAC’s designs being inspired by Kilworth, here’s Misto. Makeup is pretty much the same, and CPAC Misto even seems to have managed not to lose his massive mutton chops! And also, he’s a milkman! I’ll be so real, I don’t completely understand why Kilworth Misto was a milkman (I’d honestly forgotten until someone in the Disord reminded me while I was talking about the prod), CPAC agreed apparently!

Skimbleshanks

Colour leaked outta his hair and into his overalls! It’s not super clear in this pic, but he does still have a moustache.

Macavity

Nothing to say here, these two have almost nothing in common! The fur coat collars and the orange faces and that’s it. Macavity’s ensemble character, Victor, is also one of two characters from CPAC with no real Kilworth inspiration that I can see.

Jellylorum

Not got much to add here, they’re both housewife looking women and they have the same fringe. Unfortunately along with her added colour, CPAC Jelly also has an addition clashing pattern haha.

Demeter and Bombalurina

Not much to say here either. CPAC Demeter’s hair is real big!

Jemima

CPAC Jem has a younger look, but what’s really interesting to me is that where Kilworth ultimately chose to have her hair stick out from her hat thing, CPAC Jem’s hair remains hidden like the concept art. She also has the smudged under eyes from the concept that Kilworth chose not to go with.

Victoria

Hair and makeup pretty clearly use Kilworth as inspiration. I suspect CPAC Vicky may be a nurse. There’s not a whole lot of good pictures of her, but it looks like a nurses cap that’s pinned to the back of her head. If anyone has any other ideas be sure to let me know though!

Quaxo

If you know Kilworth at all, you probably know that Admetus and Alonzo essentially swapped designs — although obviously Alonzo received other changes to the costume that made him look younger. So, here’s CPAC Quaxo, aka ensemble Bustopher. He uses design inspo from the original Admetus concept, and Alonzo’s makeup.

Cassandra

Not much to say again for Cassie — fairly different costuming but probably the same general idea in terms of profession.

With getting my hands on some better pictures for most of the cast of CPAC CATS, I thought it would be fun to compare them to the Kilworth designs they were inspired by!

For those who don’t know anything about CPAC CATS: CPAC was a theatre group based in Melbourne, Australia. They’ve since rebranded to Upstage Theatre Company. Their production of CATS happened in 2024, and yet almost no members of the cast seem to have posted documentation of the show. I’ve been pretty stumped about it for a while, until I stumbled upon their photographer’s site, with all his photos of the production.

CPAC Cats, like Kilworth, chose the backdrop of WWII for their production. The specific setting, though, was moved to CPAC’s home of Melbourne. Something you’ll probably notice immediately when looking at these design comparisons, is that where Kilworth leant into the grittiness of their setting choice, CPAC’s costumer chose to go down a more colourful route with the designs. In my opinion, although this decision makes them ultimately look more costume-y, knowledge of the setting makes them come off as somewhat surreal as well. But that’s just my opinion haha!

About the Kilworth inspiration: I don’t have any information on why this decision was made, or if there was any discussion with/permission from Kilworth’s creative team, I can’t answer that one. Although I will say that with some of the other BTS stuff I’ve learnt, I wouldn’t be shocked if there was no effort made to reach out to Kilworth’s creatives about it. Up to your own judgement what you think on that possibility haha, but remember I don’t know for sure!!

Anyway, that’s enough yapping from me !! I’m gonna have the first of the comparison pics under the cut! Along with a few design observations for some of them.

My problem AUs

> Hermitcraft Redstone Apocalypse AU — semi inspired by Hello From the Hallowoods. The current synopsis is: Following travellers on the perilous journey through a devastated world, seeking the potential fiction of Hermitcraft — the last bastion of civilisation in a dying world. The only proof of its existence is strange radio broadcasts purporting to be from the country. I have some bits and pieces so far. Life Series is also partly incorporated, debating whether or not to add the rest of the Life Series members still. Some references to Empires so far, but mostly not in primary characters. No explicit ships apart from Joel/Lizzie, at least for right now.
