On Collecting (Tribute to Robert Brady)

This .gif is inspired by a tapestry designed by Robert Brady, an American artist and collector who, after studying art, set out to travel the world collecting local art and becoming passionate about each culture he knew. When he visited Mexico in the 50's he settled in Cuernavaca in 'La casa de la Torre'; where he received his close friends such as the great collector Peggy Guggenheim, Octavio Paz, Hollywood actress Rita Hayworth, composer and artist John Cage among many other characters. As an artist, he produced a large number of portraits and mainly tapestries made in collaboration with the Rosales family workshop in the State of Mexico. animated .gif (3240x3240px) 2.37MB
