Dear Judith Woods,
I don’t have too much time to write this (well, in fact, I do) but I’d rather go to the gym instead of spending more than 10 minutes pointing out your ignorance, ridiculousness, and appearance (because you do that too).
However, it’s quite interesting how you refer to Madonna’s “increasing cultural irrelevance” as you write an article about her hand “refurbishing” as a fact - and not the ridiculous GOSSIP it actually is. And worse: you tag such bullshit article under the “mental health” tag! You mean, Madonna (among all the other horrible things she allegedly is) is crazy now too? Queen of reinvention, indeed!
I mean… is it just complete incompetence (on your part) or is this just the editorial line of the Telegraph? “Let’s write about an unimportant gossip about Madonna because she is culturally irrelevant”? You’ve convinced me about it right there.
Just kidding! You have not.
So, in your Madonna-is-not-relevant-anymore piece you point out how she has been wearing gloves in recent years to cover up her old hands (hence why she’s undergone said procedure to have them looking young again).
So is that it? Madonna woke up one day and read the news talking about her hands and decided to cover them up?
You see, I find it interesting because gloves of all types (fingerless, cut-offs, lace) have been part of Madonna’s several iconic looks since the 80s, when she was in her 20s! So was she trying to hide her age back then too?
It’s worrying how people like you still can hold a job - not because you don’t like Madonna (as it is evident), but because you simply cannot form a logical argument. It’s so-called “journalists” like you who also say Madonna works out like crazy because she’s desperate to look young… Like she hasn’t been a fitness advocate since the early days of her career?
It’s not like she woke up one day and decided to work out and be fit or wear gloves. She has always done these things!
Besides having always been part of her “look” on stage, in videos, in photoshoots, in public appearances, and on the red carpet, another possible reason for Madonna to wear gloves is to protect her skin - it’s as simple as that! No one can ever accuse the woman of not taking care pf her skin - and wearing gloves to avoid getting age spots is not a far-fetched idea.
[Red carpet pride: ashamed of her hands?]
What is a far-fetched idea is that she has an issue with her awesome, veiny hands (low body fat percentage, anyone?). If she did, she would never, ever, ever, be photographed with our gloves, but here they are, more evidence that, over the years, Madonna couldn’t care less being seen and photographed without gloves (and even make up) in several occasions:
[Natural beauty: no make up, no gloves]
[This week’s veiny hand: gloveless, out and proud - I guess this mythical procedure never happened]
So despite being a waste of human space who is holding a job that someone more talented should have, you, at least, serves a purpose: you’re the living proof that Madonna is still so culturally relevant that, in the age of reality TV and celebrities with no purpose, articles about her hands are written more often than about her philanthropic work in Africa - she couldn’t be more contemporary than that.
So thank you very much.
