THIS IS WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS

Yesterday, my roommate, her boyfriend, and I took a break from finals and visited the Atlanta Zoo. I haven't been to a zoo in years, so it was a nice experience. We went to exhibit where you get to go in to a fenced in area with hundreds of birds. While we were in there we got to feed little Budgie birds. The otters being fed fish and worms when we got to their exhibit. They made the cutest noises to ask for food. The highlight for me was getting to be so close to the giraffes while they were being fed leaves by one of the zoo keepers. It was they perfect break from all of the stress of school.

Two weekends ago my dad and brother came to visit me here in Atlanta. We did lots of shopping and went to the Georgia Aquarium. It was great getting to see all of the fish and sea life. I love the shark tunnel. There were sharks, manta rays, and all sorts of fish swimming around over our heads. My favorite part had to be the crawl tunnel through the penguin exhibit though. You can poke your head up into the exhibit and be inches away from a penguin (with glass separating you , of course). My advice, skip the cheesy dolphin show. My brother's girlfriend warned us but we didn't listen. 

I've gotten a lot of compliments on my dorm room, so I thought I'd share it with you all. It's my little oasis. My home away from home here in Atlanta.

Surprisingly, this linocut project has been my favorite in printmaking so far. Its funny because It was the one I was dreading the most!

This picture shows my one of blocks with my second color on it, ready to print (on the left). In the middle is a print with my first color. And, on the right is one of my proof prints with two colors. I still have two more colors to print. Wish me luck!

I am truly blessed to have such an exciting experience.

Its been another good, but busy, week in Atlanta. Projects are picking up, and I've spent a lot of time in the printmaking studio working on monoprinting. Tonight I was working at a table that faced a window looking out over the Atlanta skyline. It was such a beautiful view, and became even more amazing after the sun set. The city lights were so bright against the night sky. I'm lucky to be here, and lucky to have such a beautiful place to do my homework.
