I wonder how do the same people who came up with the second law of thermodynamics still manage to look around at all this decay and still tell us that we're evolving? I see a lot of regress. Our hearts stay shrinking in direct proportion to our morality. With chests bigger than ours, our ancestors probably where able to carry a lot more heart knowledge then that which we're still rubbing two sticks together to learn how to operate. And we still have the audacity to look back and call them primitive. Experts at layering our contradictions. And talking ourselves in circles in desperation to hold up our world views. Acting like post-modernism is our only timeline. Trying to convince us that we know everything and absolutely nothing at the same time. I think I know a lot by now which makes me smart enough to know that I dont know a lot. Or realize a lot. Or even just see a lot. But still I stay trying to pick out all my blindspots 1 by 1 until I need a nap. Hoping that the sleep will get me to time travel to a spot where I can just wake up to my accolades. I just graduated from 2years of a theology course which is actually me just trying to spice the name "bible school" to make it sound more academically credible. I'm also gradutating from "Rhodes". Hoping that my mind work and soul work will kickstart my body work into catching up to this "oneness" im trying to cultivate. But I'm always reminded it doesnt work like that. Everytime I try in my own might I fall in surrender to the only trinity that speaks back to me. I know that my God answers prayers. I know that if I was born into a completely different cultural context I would still believe that. I know that my God's preferred pronoun is 'he' and im smart enough to respect that but not smart enough to understand the complexity of what that indicates about his character. I know that academia isnt everything and that the hand that feeds you can also be the same hand that leaves you hungry. I've learnt what language to speak to get a seat at certain tables. I've learnt the politics of access and paraded my hyprocracy like the devil in a new dress. I've learnt irony. And honesty.
