okay so not to expose myself- but I don't know a lot about JPop.... I think I spend most of my Japanese music expenditure in EDM and bands (love my crashout music) but that's insane and I think it should happen more!! The Eastern music scene is really divided in comparison to the western scene (and by western, I'm not just referring to English speaking cultures, eg: the west has things like Eurovision), even with language barriers they work around it. I've found in Eastern scenes they're so focused on keeping themselves separate that you genuinely don't get a blend of the music.

so imma go look into Cutie Street (is their company kawaii lab cos they've got some new group or something my friend mentioned).

oh it's TOTALLY propaganda. all the shows have hosts who are hired by conservative associate entertainment companies. the whole baby thing, while very cute, is basically to counteract queer fan service. (that is a mixture of opinion and research!!)

also just the vibes it's like, stop trying to push the idea of motherhood on these girls who are 24 and in the height of their careers???

but I love sampling 'macarena' but idk about the cultural significance of that in Korea compared to the west? so it does lose some depth on that front

CELEBRATION

I don't think it should've been the opening single track, set the wrong vibe expectation for the comeback but maybe they wanted to throw us off. very edm now that kpop has moved from house (obviously it was y2k, house and now edm). even so, they do hit the mark well for edm but the sections aren't long enough? the constant repeat of the pre chorus is almost longer that the chorus and chorus breakdown (beat drop edm movement) it's self.

Creatures

charming, feels late 2000s- early 2010s esque. potential to be performed with a live band?? (tho unlikely with HYBE- only bnd gets that really)

OMG ITS GIVING END OF 2022!!!!! I LOVE IT!!! so cute- could be in a completely different comeback tho, feels like the new h2h direction or a fifty fifty song, definitely feels inspired by fromis_9 (which I fucking adore btw) or girlsday (WHICH AHHH LEE HYERI!!!!!!- I feel feral)

nice alternating verses, more western pop catering but plays our beautiful. I think you can really hear Sakura in this which is such a nice change (I know it's her request for less lines) but her vocal presence is obvious which is amazing!!

iffy iffy

feels very inspired by some 2nd/3rd gen ggs (which I love) but gives the same vibes as 2022 kpop which I eat up (yk fromis_9, fifty fifty, etc vibes) could totally be a h2h song

Yunjin and Lily must be in the same lesbian book club and sharing notes on yearning cos hot damn. not exactly on lily level of pure gayness but the fimmies are showing there true colours in time for pride #ilovelesbians

Yunjin must be my moot on a discord server cos why is this named the same as my favourite band. Has a nice display of vocals, more relaxed so hopefully no dance to give the girlies a break on stage! unfortunately definitely gonna be an unrated song but we are gonna be chae and yj hooting and hollering in the back for that bridge hopefully (channel nayeonie and mama jiji)

it's giving lockdown vibes, how everyone opened the songs and stuff with like recorded convos but it's a fun interlude vibe (but no one beats billy and Johnny at interludes) should've been made 3rd last but nice to close out the album with this (tho billy and sab are the western artists to take notes from in closing)
