Yay - I remembered an anniversary for one of my characters:) (It doesn't happen very often). On this day in history... the death of Æthelflæd, the lady of Mercia but what happened after her death? Read The Lady of Mercia's Daughter duology, where I return her daughter, Ælfwynn, to the historical narrative she's been 'lost' from (I won't go so far as to say she's been purposefully written out of it, but it is highly possible she has been). Fans of the Brunanburh Series, will encounter a younger Æthelstan. I think we all have favourite audiobook narrators. Aside from the narrators of my own books (and I honestly tell people that Antonia Beamish, who narrates Meddi in the Dark Age Chronicles, terrifies me), I also adore Indira Varma's narration of the Witches in Discworld. I listen to them on constant repeat. AND, more importantly, this helped me answer a quiz question on Friday night about which Shakespeare play doesn't have a ghost in it. But I love audiobooks for allowing me to relisten to my favourite stories when I am busy doing other things (and very importantly, for getting me through those horrible middle-of-the-night moments when I wake up with my characters misbehaving in my mind, and I can use my fav audios to banish my characters for a little while). #AudioBookMonth #BoldwoodBooks #ReadBoldly #GoAllIn

Discussion time..... As you know (obviously), I read all of my book reviews, and there is a new one that says that releasing this book has restricted the actions of the fab Icel in the earlier two series. I am super curious about this. Do you think it has? I mean, I've known where The Last King books would go for a long time AND, I do have a story that needs to culminate at some point in The Eagle of Mercia series, and so I don't believe I have aside from, obvs, The Last King was given that title for a very good reason. It's time for my May update. May is always a tricky time for me, as I don't write full-time during May, and this year has been no different. I've remained busy, working on 758 and Dragonbound, and I've also managed to start a short story I need to write. I had hoped to find time to work on my next mystery, but not yet. It's looking like it'll be a July project at the moment. So, I've been in eighth century Mercia, on my fantastical world from the Ice and Fire series, and even spending a little bit of time in September 1066. Watch this space for more news.
