so, with this proof, we know that they were dating when gus got teleported to the human realm. and like, it’s so sad, because they were dating in SECRET. NO ONE KNEW ABOUT THEIR RELATIONSHIP EXCEPT GUS AND MATTHOLOMULE THEMSELVES. so why is that sad, you ask? because mattholomule had to pretend like he didn’t care about his boyfriend’s possible death. he had to be all like “why would i care about augustus’ death? i hate him and he hates me!” in order to not expose him and gus’ relationship and possibly out both gus and himself. HE HAD TO ACT LIKE HE DIDN’T FUCKING CARE ABOUT HIS BOYFRIEND’S DEATH. HE HAD TO PLAY IT COOL. OH MY GOD DON’T FUCKING TALK TO ME
