I’m a Jewish artist. In particular, I’ve always wanted to get into storytelling. I used to be so creative. I’m still dedicated to my craft and passionate about Jewish representation, but after October 7th. . . it’s like my light went out.

What’s the point in creating anything? There’s no audience for the work I want to make. Forget fame, acclaim, or adoration. It’s getting harder and harder to even feel like my voice matters. I know I need to stand up; I know that Jewish stories matter now more than ever. But for every story I think I want to tell, I know for a fact that there’s millions of goyim who’d tear it to pieces with a smile on their face.

I just feel so stuck. Everyday is a repeat of the last: feel like shit, get treated like shit, shut down and spiral over how shitty it all is. I feel defeated. I feel like a failure. How the hell am I supposed to believe in myself when no one’s ever believed in me? How the hell am I supposed to convince the world I matter if I can’t even convince myself?

I just want to feel that spark again. I’ve only ever wanted to make art that matters. I just want to feel like I matter.

Yeah my mom always wanted a little girl but she got stuck with me instead. That wasn’t gonna stop her though so all my friends were opening up nerf guns and bmx bikes on their birthday, I was getting crockpots. 

(scene changes to the person dressed in a nice black suit jacket, bright pink dress shirt, and black tie) Yeah laugh it up! Take a picture while you’re at it 'cause this is the last time you’ll ever see me in a suit! How do boys wear these things??
