sorry I actually have no time for anyone who’s only now posting big long things about how disappointed/annoyed they are at emmerdale and the emmerdale writers when a lot of us knew exactly how terrible it was about to be all the way back in september/october and we were told that we were being needlessly negative and to stop watching the show if we didn’t like it. you made excuse after excuse for what was objectively terrible inexcusable writing and terrible inexcusable storytelling and not only that, but you were actively praising the show where they deserved no praise and look where we are now. you yourselves caused it to get to this abysmal point. you could’ve seen it for exactly what it was when that character was introduced but you chose to close your eyes and put your fingers in your ears and say la la la and now you’re gonna have to just live with it. if you had actually complained, if you’d actually pointed out the inconsistencies, if you’d actually demanded better instead of falling for the propaganda and glazing the show and that character in particular, we might be living in a different world. but no, people weren’t just not observing what was clearly observable but they were actively praising the show and making up lists of positives and highlighting what was going well when there was nothing to praise or highlight. and you made us all who saw this clown show for what is was straight from the jump feel like shittt. so yeah zero sympathy. you made fandom awful for people who had genuine valid criticisms and now everyone wants to complain. not that it matters in any way, but I’ll hold my head up high knowing I didn’t fall for this shit and I didn’t excuse it either. saw it for what it was and called it out for what it was and I’m actually so glad I didn’t go to bat so hard for emmerdale of all things. play stupid games win stupid prizes
