Hey Angel could have more writers. The only database it’s listed on is APRA AMCOS, which didn’t credit Ed Drewett (he tweeted that he cowrote it) and might have left off others.

Drag Me Down, Perfect, and Infinity are all 100% complete lists as verified by official releases.

All the other songs should have complete credits, although for accuracy’s sake I’m only calling it 99% certain until we get the liner notes.

Hey Angel is now on BMI, but it only lists Jamie/Julian/John, so WHO KNOWS WHAT THE TRUTH IS RE: ED DREWETT. Someone leak the credits from the album booklet, I’m tired.

If you don't mind me asking what songs were the boys left off of the last album?

It’s just APRA AMCOS that drops credits, so some of these songs had correct and complete listings up on ASCAP or BMI all along, and everyone was properly credited on all songs when the album actually came out, but:

Fool’s Gold was missing Zayn

Night Changes was missing Liam and Zayn

No Control was missing Liam

Clouds was missing Zayn

Change Your Ticket was missing Harry and Zayn

I think that was everything - all the lists I posted used multiple databases to avoid leaving anyone off, so it’s hard for me to go back and figure out which omissions APRA AMCOS made when I was only posting credits after I’d filled in as many blanks as I could. It was clear right away that Fool’s Gold, Night Changes, and Change Your Ticket were 5/5 and that Liam was on No Control, but I don’t think any of us knew about Zayn on Clouds until Sugarscape published the songwriting credits as provided to them by Syco.

For No Control and Clouds, this has had led to the annoying cycle of “fans scrounge together incomplete lists of songwriters —> fans treat these like they’re complete —> fans update Wikipedia with incomplete information —> fans then point to Wikipedia as proof that the lists are complete —> eventually the lazy-ass web team 1D hired used Wikipedia when putting credits up on the website —> EVEN THE 1D WEBSITE DOESN’T HAVE CORRECT CREDITS FOR NO CONTROL OR CLOUDS —> fans point to the 1D website as proof that the lists are complete.”

Hey, just curious where you found the credits for "Hey Angel"? I noticed on APRA AMCOS it was listed as "BUNETTA J/BAYLIN J/RYAN J" or am I looking at something wrong? I know Ed Drewett confirmed he wrote it on twitter. I know you mentioned the tendency for that database to leave off writers, I just found that weird when I looked it up lol. Thank you for doing this list again this year!

My list’s a mishmash - Julian Jamie and John from APRA AMCOS (Jamie Scott = J Baylin), and then Ed based on his tweet. That’s why Hey Angel is on the “could go either way” list - on APRA AMCOS it’s got a short enough entry that it seems like it should be complete, but clearly Ed got left off so it’s possible more people did as well.

Hey, just saying, you're right about them most likely cutting people off of the writers lists but I highly doubt they'd cut off any of the boys' names. That's a top priority. You can see in the lists that they give that the boys are always listed before any of the other writers, so I think they'd only cut out people that could be considered insignificant to it.

Nah. APRA AMCOS is the same database that last year omitted one Harry credit, two Liam credits, and four Zayn credits. APRA AMCOS is the reason so many people still think Liam didn’t write on No Control and Zayn didn’t write on Clouds. Even on this album - the first set of credits we got for Perfect was from APRA AMCOS, and it didn’t include Harry or Louis. The first set of credits we got for End of the Day didn’t include Liam or Louis. I’m being as clear as possible about where the boys might have been left off, because in all likelihood, SOMEONE got left off SOMEWHERE.

Also, “the lists that they give” are actually the lists I typed up based on what I saw, and I put the boys first because obviously, that’s what we’re most interested in. The APRA AMCOS list for A.M. is “BUNETTA/DREWETT/HECTOR/RYAN/STYLES/PAYNE” and for History it’s “BUNETTA/DREWETT/HECTOR/RYAN/PAYNE/TOMLIN,” where they didn’t even finish his name before they ran out of room. It’s an arbitrary cutoff point imposed by a software limitation, it’s not a deliberate omission of insignificant contributors.
