Dionysia

When you came over to watch movies, you usually hugged the dolphin while Ren hugged the shark (he claimed he wasn’t hugging it, it was just “in a convenient place”). Sometimes you’d get the shark and Ren would have the dolphin, his hand absentmindedly stroking the tail. 

And on cold days (or when the heating unit broke down), you’d cuddle against each other, relishing each other’s warmth under the blankets and hoping desperately that the heating would get repaired soon. 

As your relationship developed, Ren’s room began to change. Some of your clothes were hung in the closet. He had a spare toothbrush. He placed a basket with tampons and pads in his bathroom. But the most notable change was that the cosmic dolphin plushie was now infused with your scent. 

But what you didn’t notice was that when you were on missions and couldn’t come over for an extended period of time, Ren was more prone to cuddling with the dolphin instead of his favorite shark. He didn’t notice he was doing it either. 

He was doing it unconsciously, burying his face in the fluffy pink and inhaling the sweet smell with a pang in his chest.

Harmony Sessions

When you were about 5 years old, looking intently at the needle on the vinyl player and wondering how could those grooves be melodies of every sort, you heard your grandfather say that music is a gourmet of sound. That genres do not define. That notes are soulful and poetic.

He himself was a poetic man.

And somehow Zenji reminded you of your grandpa.

When you first saw the biwa playing by itself, you thought, “What a cute artifact”. 

Until you met the artist behind it.

You’d spent countless hours harmonizing with him, going over lyrics, suggesting chords. You spent so much time with him that Saburo came to sit on your lap when you two were in what Zenji called “harmony sessions”. You loved the way he leapt up into the air, eyes sparkling with enthusiasm as you two discussed music.

One day, you invited Zenji to the music room in the Academy for a special “harmony session” after an idea struck you. Although you’d been playing the drums for years, you never really told him that. Maybe drums could go with a Japanese biwa… maybe.

You had been cleaning the dust off the drums and tuning them when you heard a faint knock. Opening the door, you found Zenji holding the biwa with Saburo floating next to him.

“Doll!! It’s been ages since I have stepped foot in here… my, it’s dusty,” Zenji remarked as he floated inside. He whipped his head towards you as he caught sight of the cleaned drum set. “You play the drums?!”

“Yeah, it’s been ages though,” you replied, flipping a drumstick. “I was wondering if I could like create a beat to your biwa… or maybe these two don’t go well with each other…”

“A beat to my biwa performance!! What a wonderful idea!! Let me try… something like this?”

Zenji started strumming the biwa, its traditional sound echoing through the air. You listened for a few seconds, then lightly started tapping the snare, creating a simple beat. Nodding along, Zenji continued, adding some chords. You reciprocated with some beats from the hi-hat and bass, adding depth.

The music seemed to be something like jazz, yet sounded traditional. It sounded like nothing you’ve ever heard, but it was beautiful and flowing, a wondrous creation between you and Zenji.

A Divine Reunion

1 year later

July 7th, 0:00.

A shimmery light appeared in your bedroom in Clementia, taking in the form of your love. 

You hugged him. He hugged you back.

“Your curse… it is healed?”

“Yeah. I uh, threatened the Academy and the Institute that you guys would invade Earth if they didn’t solve my curse, and they kinda lowkey panicked? Sorry if I shouldn’t have used your name or like—“

“It is fine.” His pale hand came up to your cheek, caressing it softly. “I was… worried? I believe that is the correct name for that emotion. I was extremely worried about your well-being while being on my home planet.”

“Well, I’m glad you’re happy and healthy too,” you hummed.

The Sky King chuckled. “My dear weaver, nothing can kill me on my home planet. You have nothing to worry about.”

Leading him downstairs to the couch (yes, you made Darkwick repair everything in your dorm), you sat next to him. He tried to hug you again while you were sitting down, resulting in a somewhat awkward position. Laughing softly, you adjusted your seating and cuddled into him, wrapping his arm around your shoulders. His hand hesitantly stroked your hair.

“Is this alright?”

“Mmm.”

“…you cut your hair?”

“Yep. Do you like it?”

“You are beautiful no matter what, my weaver.” 

He pressed his lower part of his mask to the top of your head and you froze. He anxiously peered into your face.

“Was that unpleasant?”

“No… it’s just… I didn’t expect that from you.”

“While I was on my home planet, I did conduct some research on how humans express affection, and ‘a head kiss’ was one of them. If you did not like it, I am always open to alternatives.”

Oh. Right. He was a “learning device”. A learning device… hmm…

You suddenly pressed a quick kiss on his cheek. This time, the Sky King froze. You tilted your head, blinking innocently, and then dropped the bomb.

“You know, if you could adjust the mask to expose the lower part of your face like when you were younger, I could kiss you on the lips?”

“I… I would like that,” he breathed. Waving a hand over his face, the mask adjusted to reveal delicate lips. Cupping your face, he leaned in.

You tilted your head, closing your eyes, and your lips met his. Cold, but impossibly soft, you instinctively gasped, which made his tongue slip in. Curiously exploring your mouth, it met your tongue in between, caressing it and making you dizzy. 

The Sky King pulled away first, drool creating a silver string between your lips. He looked concerningly at you. “Are you alright, my weaver? You became limp after a while.”

You breathed deeply, trying to ignore the blush creeping up your cheeks. “How’d you become so good at kissing?”

He tilted his head in confusion. “You tasted divine.” His fingers traced the pattern of heat on your face. “And that color is beautiful… I would like to see more of it.”

The Sky King leaned in once more, and you eagerly met his lips again.

i need time to process this.

but first what i wanna say is GET THE HELL OUTTA THE WAY JIN KAMURAI

like dude got jealous of a... ten-year-old?? i think that was the Sky King's age when we went back in time??

anyway he was SO GODDAMN CUTE and the way he ran to us and hugged us when we went back to the original timeline?? 😫😫😫 we love a yearner.

and like. when i found out Sky King has to go back to his planet even when we killed destroyed the Capturer thing, i legitimately cried 😭😭😭😭 this is like the first time i cried reading an ep to be honest, even in s1 at the end when Kaito died, i was more in shock and disbelief. but THIS EP???? im honestly getting teary eyed just thinking over that. the Sky King loves MC, she loves (i think? more like i believe?? lol cause i mean they would lose players if her feelings were explicitly written, that's why fans can self-insert, obviously) him back, but because the observations and shit can only be recorded back on their home planet, they can only meet once a year— hmm isn't that similar to THE TANABATA LEGEND OF ORIHIME AND HIKOBOSHI????

the Sky King loves her. HE LOVES HER GUYSSSSS. and he can only meet her once a year... im crying again 😭😭😭😭 he literally said that the fact that he met her was his greatest happiness... he called her 我の心美しき織女 (my weaver with a beautiful heart)... he fucking asked her if she likes men with muscles 😭😭 the fact that he actually brought out a wooden katana to fight with the Capturer contraption whatsamachit means he remembered 😭

what we learned from this ep:

Dante was not at the Academy last year

Dante said there's *someone (Hyde obvs) that misuses his right to give students special missions (to Romeo. and to Sho??)

Natori was apparently kind of a leader to the dissidents

Mio's stigma activation spell thingie is "Samrab" (or Samraab/Samlaab/Samlab idk how they spelled it in the eng ver)

Lucas's younger brother's name is Nox

so basically the Sky King came down to Hotarubi every year on 7/7 because he was searching for his one and only weaver. and although the past in which the Sky King met MC and the future in which they meet again were different unconnected variables but could connect, if MC and the ghouls weren't able to solve the every riddle (like in s1), the two past and future would stay unconnected. but because MC and the ghouls were able to solve the riddles -> go back in the past, they met the Sky King, and thus the Sky King could reunite with his love, ultimately changing the outcome.

Frost and Vaga are officially now a team for Jin to become head of the Japan branch (and attack the Institute??)

they do NOT trust Dionysia (more like Shion. but yeah i don't trust Elias "oh im not lying to you" Pratt either)

theories!!

so i did see a comment about this, but since in s1, they didn't succeed in solving all the riddles, that means the Sky King was merged with the core matrix and... died?? 😭😭😭 without meeting his love?? that's so sad 😭😭 and in this ep they also said that the Sky King blesses Hotarubi year-round, and that's why it's hard for anomalies to get into Hotarubi, and my silly ass was thinking like does that mean the rain is holy?? holy rain????

anyways as Tohma and Alan were saying, the alliance between Frost and Vaga could potentially expose the traitor, so i think we're gonna see more of that later on. i bet ¥666666666666 (taiga's money, ofc) on Elias. or Haku. and our girl has only two months left in this timeline... but she did get a promise from our dear Sky King and the Observer that they would see into the curse too, so that's some hope i guess...

The next ep is called 不思議の国の怪物, or The monster in Wonderland... im preeeeety sure they're referring to the Jabberwocky... and MC gets to be Alice!!

and as other people in the fandom have mentioned (i think @/tokutaiseichan ??) i do think that's its gonna be a inter-house mission. i miss Romeo. i miss his haughty ahh yelling.

The physician bit back. “She will be fine.”

Gilbert didn’t reply, staring at the young woman in the hospital bed. Although tattered and singed, it was obvious from her clothing that she wasn’t from this… world. Or universe. Her jacket was fastened with interlocking pieces of metal, and her undershirt— yes, they had to peel off a portion to dress her wounds— was made of a material that he was completely unfamiliar with. It felt smooth, cooling. And her shoes! They were fascinating. The way they were engineered for walking, the way the material supported the foot’s natural arch, and the cushion on the heel that made wearing them comfortable. Gilbert already had a prototype in mind.

Although it was your appearance that had surprised him.

Nobody would have expected a human to float from from the ceiling to the floor while he was in the ballroom organizing his thoughts. Everyone in the castle knew that the ballroom was off-limits. 

Except for the cleaning crew, but how does one defy gravity?

He was intrigued by you, your existence, everything. 

“She needs rest,” Walter said, looking at him. He had spent enough time with him to know Walter meant GET TF OUT YOU’RE DISTURBING PATIENT CARE. 

Gilbert didn’t care. For curiosity overtook him like when he was a child, and he couldn’t wait for when you woke up.
