I finished playing Kinder after a long, long time. To be honest, I didn't really remember a whole lot of this game. Probably because at the time I went through so many RPGmaker games and my tastes back then were wildly different. In terms of more surreal RPGmaker games, Ghost Suburb 2 was the one I ended up latching onto.
But playing this game today was like, wow. So much more impactful than I remembered. It's really a wonderful game. I'm really disappointed it never quite got solidified as part of the RPGmaker greats. Despite it being translated relatively quickly. I suppose the style of it was pretty out there for the time. Probably even moreso now.
Unfortunately, the RPGmaker scene has always been biased towards works which are conventionally pretty. Easy to swallow or to project meaning onto. Re:Kinder's story isn't particularly overly complicated but it definitely has that sort of discordance throughout its runtime that the mass majority finds more off-putting than intriguing. Which is sad, because I really love "raw" works such as this.
Its definitely not without its flaws however they are very understandable. Me personally, I would have loved to see more of the characters beyond Yuuichi. They're not terrible at all. I actually enjoyed them a lot more than I expected to. Especially Rei. But I do feel they're a bit lacking in some areas and really just a few more scenes with them likely could have fixed that. However I also understand that this game keeps itself pretty short for the sake of ease when replaying for alternate endings. I'll admit, had it not been for the skip dialogue button, getting the other endings would have been a chore. So in that sense, I can't be too hard on it for deciding against anything that might just look like padding for padding's sake.
But it does make me wish Re:kinder ended up getting a Light Novel adaptation like some of the other RPGmaker games of this era. Unfortunately, likely due to the circumstances surrounding it, that never came to be.
The gameplay can get a bit frustrating at times as well. Mainly because there's really no room for making mistakes and you'll likely fail if you have no idea what you're doing. And the answer is not always obvious or really has any sort of real logic behind it. You'll definitely need a guide if you want the true ending for this one. But since the game is so short, again I won't hold that too against it. It feels sort of fitting given the context of the story.
Honestly I think I might put this one over Heisei Pistol Show. Its also been a minute since I've played that game. And though I enjoyed it, I don't think it made me feel as strongly as Re:Kinder did. Who knows, maybe I should get around to replaying that one again someday.
Anyway, Re:Kinder is great. It might be one of my favorite RPGmaker games now. Who knows.

Hello everyone. I recently went out of my way to translate an old rpg maker game called Sweet Halloween into english.
Here's a brief description of the game: Sweet Halloween was released on December 30, 2006 by the late Parun, the creator of Re:Kinder and Heisei Pistol Show. You play as an airheaded witch in training named Lily as she moves to Halloween Town to make money to pay off her debts by making Horror Sweets from the screams of children while evading the Killer Cop.
I would like to say a few more things. I do not consider this a perfect translation, there are defiantly parts that either sound wrong or sound nothing like what Parun would write, so if anyone hates my translation and you're interested in making a better one, by all means go ahead. This is my first time ever doing something like this so don't go too hard on me please. And lastly, I do not claim ownership of this game or any of Parun's other work, I'm only making this translation so that more people in the english speaking community can enjoy this game.
Well that's basically all. Please if you encounter any bugs, mistranslations, typos, audio errors, or dialogue overlapping the text box, please let me know. I'll try to fix them.
Hope you enjoy.
Edit: I found glitches on my own after posting this and I had to change the link three times... I'm tired.
Edit2: I updated the file checking stuff that I missed.

I know I’ve been gone for a long time and I’m sorry about that, but I didn’t have any ideas or the energy to draw, so I hope you understand.
On top of that, I’ve fallen ill; my stomach hurts terribly and the medication isn't helping—so I’m doing just great right now! Don’t worry (even though just a day ago I was lying there dying of pain); I also suddenly caught a cold today—runny nose and a bad cough—but I’ll survive.
EVERYONE TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY!!!! I don't know what I have planned for tomorrow but all I can know is that my birthday is tomorrow :D
I don't know what else to say so have my drawing of my Self-insert OC I drew in AzPainter2:
His name is Otto (The reason why there are bandages around his eye is due to an eye infection).
--To clarify, even though he's a self-insert of me, the bandages on his eye did not actually happened to me in real life, so please don't take it that way--
I have returned! With playlists! So, I have started Chapter 16, and I pretty much have everything planned out; I just need to sit down and write it. I'll have a lot of time this weekend. The reason writing has been slow this past week is that I needed to take care of things around the house, plus work, and rehearsals for a show I am in. When I was home, I didn't really want to write; I wanted to play Persona 3 Reload (at endgame, by the way, should be able to beat it next week). But to compensate, I spent the last couple of weeks making playlists for the rest of the characters. Officially, everyone is done; I was just waiting for @thedrotter to make art of the other characters before I committed. BY the way, thank you very much for drawing the rest of them, dear friend; they were fantastic, and you can consider the playlists my payback (or pay forward?). Anyway, the only characters who don't have a playlist are Yuuichi's parents. And they'll get one eventually. It'll likely be a shared one, though. I will also be making the playlists for everyone else's parents at some point. But for now, let me show off the next playlist: everyone's favorite possible rich girl, Rei Suzumura!
As with the other ones, I will only be explaining the songs that haven't been explained already. I will also say that Hiroto and Yuuichi will be requiring multiple posts, since Tumblr can only have 10 songs from Spotify and YouTube each, and all three of them (especially Yuuichi) have way more than 20. I will also be making another post about songs I have added to other characters since then. I will also say that while I have made playlists for Mami and Reina, the playlists are titled their stories since the songs can apply to the game; they're more tied to my story than anything. So, listen to those with caution, as they will have spoilers for the direction I am taking both of them. If interested, I can link the playlists, but they likely won't be getting detailed explanations until after their arcs have passed or have concluded. Although in Reina's case, her story continues past the playlist. But I digress, onto Rei!
With Rei, I wanted to give her a bit more of a rebellious sound, but still have moments of vulnerability that comes with her character. So, with that said, while musical theatre is still prevalent, I want to give her a punk edge. I feel like she'd be into Avril Lavigne and P!nk, and while none of their songs are on there, she'd definitely listen to them. If you haven't noticed, my playlists are more about what fit the characters best rather than what songs they'd listen to (the answer would be whatever is popular in Japan at the time, though, and maybe some popular international artists from America and Europe). So, with that being said, her first song is...
Mama Who Bore Me. The opening number of Spring Awakening about a young girl lamenting the fact that their Mom isn't preparing them for the world effectively. If you want a show about parental failures, this show will definitely serve that need. In the context of Rei, I headcanon that she had a tenuous relationship with her Mom, and this song is basically her lamenting how her Mom is shaping her into who she wants her to be rather than encouraging her to be herself. Which leads too...
Reflection. Yeah... I've had to include this song after really thinking how Rei talks about how girls look or should look just by their name. And she is basically internalizing that thought process towards herself, wanting to be herself not just in her private life, but in her public life as well. While, ideally, she'd be able to be herself, and make her family proud, but not portrayed in the song is her willingness to be herself at the cost of her families love if need be. However, at some point, it would get too much for her trying to be someone she isn't, and this would lead to...
Pretty Funny... A song about a woman realizing she's been tricked into being a part of some sick game ran by men to see who can bring the ugliest date and winner gets some cash. But the woman are not aware of this. They are charmed by men to go on a date with them, only to be hurt. Made to believe they're pretty. I think Rei sees herself as unattractive, and this is only bolstered by the attitudes others give her for being herself. This song is her realizing that she'll never be appreciated or loved or seen as pretty no matter how much she likes the way she dresses. This is where she starts doubting everyone who is ever friendly in her life... but she moves on, she'll forget about it, and eventually stop caring. But for a moment, even for a little while, she believed she was pretty... funny.
Which leads to Adrift, a song about someone having lost their way, and trying to find out what they want to do, and if they'll be brave enough to pursue. So, fun fact, this song is from the first musical video game called Stray Gods. An Adventure Visual Novel with musical numbers. The songs play in a way where depending how you respond, it changes the lyrics and instrumentation of the song. For example, this song basically decides the main traits of the protagonist, Grace, this version uses the Kickass verse, while you get different lines for choosing Charming or Clever.
For clarity's sake, the verse is, "Maybe if I paddled hard enough. I'll fight the waves, try to be tough. Can I belong to the sea."
This game has four albums on Spotify, one that goes over each path with these traits, and the fourth one being a showcase of a mishmash of choices, instead of choosing the one. And even that doesn't include all the possible verses and lines. It's genuinely incredible how the songs seamlessly flow, and some have more branches than others. I highly recommend this game, it's a good time, and it's honestly a more interesting take on the Greek Pantheon that would honestly ruffle a few feathers, but I love it for being daring enough to try.
This song is basically telling her parents off for trying to control her life. I imagine this happening days before the tragedy, but she's not the only one having this conversation... Another boy close to her age is having a similar talk with his own family. They just were tired, and needed to express their own emotions for once... Little did they know that they'd lose them days later... In a way, they get what they wanted, but at what cost. This song is obviously based off Alice in Wonderland, which is refereneced a couple times in the game itself, and Rei even mentions knowing a girl named Alice. Honestly, I am kinda surprised parun didn't consider it an inspiration, but I haven't experienced the story proper in a long time. But still... in a way, Rei is using this book to basically tell off her parents.
Speaking of video games inspired by Greek Mythology, I had to give her Good Riddance after listening to this song and thinking that this mood really fits Rei after the game and she loses her entire family, and all she can think is Good Riddance as suddenly the pressures she had her whole life washed away, but at the cost of her entire family, and complicated as her relationship was with them, she still misses them. But still... did things had to end the way they did?
Hey, a song from The Notebook Musical, it's been a while, old friend. This song is basically about Rei finally choosing for real to live her life her own way despite what others say. She's going to do what makes her happy and not apologize for it. Even if that means she isn't liked, so be it... She'd rather be herself, than be liked any day of the week.
Rei calling out injustices at her old school, taking any oppurtunity to defend those like Yuuichi... She doesn't want happened to her town to anywhere else on the small chance there were other objects that could grant magic powers. This is basically her entering her sukeban phase fully, which is basically a girl who participates in gang behavior in Japan. They were more common in the 80s though, but she basically adopts that style of behavior whenever she sees someone in her class being hurt and the teachers don't do anything even after she tries to get their attention. Naturally, they try to blame her for all of it, but she basically uses this song to call them out for their behavior, saying the adults who turn a blind eye to others getting hurt, but then get mad when she defends them are living in a glass house. And she's going to break them down to pieces.
So, this song, I originally envisioned for Shunsuke in my story talking to Yuuichi or Takumi. But since I wanted to keep the main characters playlist to the events of the game, I didn't include it. So, I decided to give it to Rei when someone in her class that she's defended before why she helps them, and she starts telling the story of her home town in a roundabout way, leaving it ambiguous on she's talking about. Shunsuke or Yuuichi... Even she probably doesn't know. I love this song to death. It's the shortest song in Epic the Musical, but it came to me at the right time after a really bad personal life event, and I really needed this song. And I think Rei would need it too after what she went through.
Rei being a defender of woman. Let's not pretend she wouldn't be. While this song is more towards people who'd harrass Sayaka and Aya, she'd probably feel similar protective feelings for Shunsuke and Ryou. She doesn't care who she scares, or who she hurts, as long as the people she cares about are safe. Rei, to me, feels like someone who cares deeply about the ones she calls friends, and is more than willing to punch a bitch if any of them are threatened. She may be called hysterical, but is it hysterical to protect the ones you love?
Her looking back to everything that happened in Kowada Town a year after the fact. It's weird that the pain is still there, but it's not as bad as it used to be. She's still alive. While she may have been meaner than she'd like, at least that was her choice... But as time goes on, the person she used to be around her parents fades away, and that hurts because she didn't want to erase her, but she's so far away now, that she's not sure she can reclaim that version of her... She doesn't necessarily miss her old self, but it's hard for her to come back from something when her body still remembers it no matter how hard she tries to forget... So... her playlist ends with her not necessarily being okay, but she's getting there... and sometimes that's all you can ask for.
So, this is the end. What do you think about it? Of course, I apologize for my empty promises about the bonuses, as I realized that I wouldn't be able to write them. I don't see them as text, and this au has been exhausting me. I just wanted to finish it, but the true ending didn't satisfy me.
I enjoyed this story despite its flaws. I put a lot of effort into it, and I'm pleased with what I've created, even though I couldn't fully explore certain themes.
How did you find the story? I didn't think anyone would like it, and I planned to abandon it as soon as I could, but you helped me finish it, so thank you. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about this work, the story, or anything related to it, please feel free to write to me. I'll do my best to answer them.
Now, it's time to focus on the hero syndrome, but I don't have any rush. (I just don't know what else to write to say goodbye to this little cruel tale.)

*How many days have passed since then? Actually, it's not that long, it's only been a year, and in the end, our wedding took place, so to speak... I was happy, I hadn't felt this way in a long time, but at the same time, I had a lot on my mind. Can I tell you how it went? Actually, there's nothing interesting to say: as usual, there were a lot of guests, congratulations, gifts, and wishes, which was too much, in my opinion, and it was too embarrassing for both of us.*
*The day was very long. Yuuichi looked particularly tense, and it was clear that he didn't like all the attention. It's not surprising, as he spent a lot of time in the library and was almost accustomed to such events. I often took his hand, which helped him feel a little more relaxed. Despite the fact that it was a joyful and happy day for our families, we didn't feel like celebrating. We just wanted to... Peace, loneliness, I wanted to be alone, finally to be more honest and "correct". The only thing that made me enjoy this day was Yuuichi, I liked how the wedding dress looked on him. It was soft red with a fullness and of course with beautiful decorations in the form of red roses, it was all as a habit: a veil, a lot of fabrics hanging down, a wig, without a wig he would look better in it. I've been thinking a lot about this, about him, and I've realized that I really like him, not just as someone I can be honest with, but as a person in general. I feel awkward describing my feelings here, so... Well... Take note of this. In rare moments, the guests would enjoy themselves by dancing and forgetting about us. That day came to an end, and according to tradition, we were supposed to have our wedding night. Guests and our relatives often mentioned it with a sly chuckle, which was annoying, as we weren't as perverted as our parents, although it was considered normal in society. When we were finally alone in the same room, Yuuichi breathed a sigh of relief, removing his wig and tossing it aside on the bed.*
— OH MY GOD, IT WAS HORRIBLE. No, come on, tell me. What am I wrong, all these grinning people, hypocritical faces, I often heard about how many gossiped about our parents and us, besides, they all bothered me so much. There were sooooo many people and it was too awkward, I hate being a star.
*The guy immediately collapsed on the bed in his too cute dress, his arms spread out, now he was truly free. I was also not particularly pleased with this day, but I calmly removed the extra items of clothing, listening to the exclamations of my now-husband.*
— My feet are so sore, I just recently recovered them, and now I have to wear heels because I don't have any other choice.
*Yuuichi pouted, and his high-heeled shoes immediately fell off and scattered across the room. He disliked wearing high-heeled shoes, even though they were fashionable. After removing the extra items of clothing, I was left in just a shirt and pants, and I approached her, pulling back the hem of her skirt and sitting next to her. In fact... I still couldn't believe that we had done it, that we were now officially married. My eyes flickered between Yuuichi's ring and my own. I felt a mix of happiness and disappointment. No, don't get me wrong, I was overjoyed that this man had become my husband! Over the years, as we grew up together, we got to know each other better, and I was able to understand myself and my feelings more. But... Something is bothering me. After his marriage, Yuuichi will be forced to stay with us and grow up with me. He is currently 15 years old, and as time goes on, his masculine features will become more pronounced, although not to a noticeable extent. However, this will not last forever, and my happiness with him will eventually come to an end. Everyone will find out, and this is what bothers me the most. Will I be able to be there for him during this difficult time? Can I protect him? Yuichi fell silent for a while, but I didn't pay attention to him as my fists slowly clenched and my face darkened.*
— What are you thinking about?
*I turned to look at Yuuichi, who was propped up on his elbows and then sat up fully, staring at me. My hands reached out to his face, covering his cheeks, and I carefully examined every detail. Yuuichi was not expecting such a reaction, causing his face to quickly turn red*
— Ah? Eh? S-Shunsuke?
*I didn't respond, but instead continued to carefully analyze every detail and curve. In fact, I had exaggerated when I mentioned masculine features, as his face was neutral, less feminine than before, but also difficult to compare with masculinity, as it was too soft for a masculine face. However, as we grow older, many things may change, and people may become suspicious. Yuuichi could easily change his appearance with magic, he's done it several times before, but he said that he values his real cute face, so he only uses it when he needs to hide. In fact, it's not just about his face, what would happen if people found out about his magic? Things were simpler at home, and the servants simply accepted that their princess didn't want to go out, but their servants couldn't accept it as easily. Even if you tried to explain it to them, they wouldn't understand. It's like a completely new environment for Yuuichi. In the end, I just let out a disappointed sigh and let go of the princess's face, and he immediately stepped back, looking at me with confusion and even a hint of resentment. What's wrong with him?*
— I'm sorry for scaring you, but I was thinking that it would be too difficult for you here, and that sooner or later, everyone would figure it out or find out the truth about you.
— A
*I looked down at the floor beneath my feet, and I was actually happy about getting married to him because I wouldn't have to go far to see him, but now I regret it. Suddenly, I felt something warm and small land on my shoulder—his hand*
— Hey, have you forgotten who you're sitting with? I'm a sorcerer, and sorcerers are usually found and captured, but sorcerers are much more inconspicuous, and they're not as actively pursued. If I'm discovered, I can easily escape. You can distract everyone, and I can quickly run away.
*Yuuichi seemed so carefree, but I could sense a hint of deception in his words. Are sorcerers rarely caught? But it's not a fact that he will be one of those sorcerers that haven't been caught.*
— Are you sure?
—...
*He fell silent and removed his hand from my shoulder. Yuuichi has always been like this, it feels like he wants to be caught or something else, I can't explain it, but I can feel it, maybe it's because of our connection.*
— I'm glad you're worried about me
*Said the guy who was sitting next to me, looking into the distance, while I was looking at him*
— But can you promise me something? If I get caught, don't interfere.
— I can't promise you that.
*Did he really think I'd say yes? I'd rather cut off my own tongue than say something like that. However, not a single muscle twitched on his face, and he just smiled softly and gently.*
— I see, that's a disappointment. You're going to destroy what you've been building for a long time. I don't want your hard work to go to waste.
— It doesn't matter to me as long as it doesn't hurt you or my loved ones.
*I was serious about my words, and Yuuichi realized that I wouldn't back down. He let out a tired sigh.*
— Okay, you're determined. Let's see how it goes. Can you help me take off this dress? I'm afraid I won't be able to take it off myself.
— Okay.
*The Princess of the Red Rose turned her back to me, and I started fiddling with the laces on her dress. It wasn't too difficult or tiring, but the laces were tied very well, and I wasn't sure if I could untie the knot. Eventually, my husband was able to breathe freely after removing the dress. After some fumbling and finding something to change into, we got to work. I didn't feel comfortable changing clothes in the same room with him, we hadn't done this before, but we're both guys, what's the big deal? Even if I like him and we're married. Although Yuuichi looked very tense, pinched and tried not to look at me, he was obviously not used to changing clothes with someone in the same room, especially when we just got married today, it's understandable, but I didn't stare for long either. Of course, we weren't going to do something like what they usually do at this time.*
— Will you read something with me?
— Is there anything to read?
— Yes, I brought it in unnoticed
*I was lying on my side facing Yuuichi, who was calmly sitting on the edge of the bed, holding a book in his hand. The lights were off, except for a dim lamp on the same bedside table where the book was taken. I moved closer, touching the princess's shoulder, and stared at the book*
— I don't know what it's about, but we'll find out.
*I rested my head on his shoulder. Looking at Yuuichi, I realized that it wasn't a burden for him and he didn't even mind, leaving him staring at the book while the lone candle remained lit. I can't remember what the book was about now, I wasn't a big fan of them, but I read them when I was sad or lonely as a child, but now he was by my side, so it probably wasn't a big deal. I want him to stay by my side, yes, I'm terribly strange, but he's not a surprise either.*
*Have you ever heard the expression: "The truth always comes out?" Every important lie will sooner or later be revealed in the most brutal and unpredictable way we know. Because we hide this lie for a long time, it accumulates and eventually, when it comes to light, it leaves terrible and cruel consequences, such consequences that you can't help but think, "I wish I had told you about it earlier," but it can also be the other way around. Sometimes a lie that consumes you and you can't hold on to becomes so petty and insignificant that it doesn't have any serious consequences, but you've already imagined the end of the world. But when it comes to our lie, it falls into the first category. Seriously, how long could it have lasted? Did you really think you could hide it for long enough? It's ridiculous. Eventually, the maids started spreading rumors about the princess, as if she wasn't a princess but a terrifying devil, and why did they think that? The princess's behavior was too different from what the townspeople and the maids had imagined, and it was strange to them, but the maids, who were particularly curious, broke the rules and allowed themselves to do things they shouldn't, and they discovered the truth on their own, even though they couldn't see it. When the maids asked the prince about the princess, he told them that it was normal and that they shouldn't get involved, but no one listened to him. You know, it's normal for a society like this to accuse everyone they hate of witchcraft, even without evidence, especially when it's done by holy people who are innocent and pure, just to make everyone see how miserable they are. After the princess moved to their country, the kingdom's fortunes took a turn for the better, and they started wondering if it was witchcraft. Thankfully, they didn't consider him a boyfriend, as that would have been two problems. Other residents picked up on it, and eventually the people rebelled, and the king signed a peace treaty while he and his wife tried to figure out how to explain this decision to their son. They spent a long time thinking about it, especially the queen, but the king didn't seem to care about his own son. They sat at a table for hours, with a single candle burning in the middle of the dark room. On the one hand, they don't want to tarnish their reputation in the Red Kingdom, but on the other hand, their people won't rest until the White Rose is defeated. What if the rumors spread beyond the kingdom and into other parts of the world, suggesting that they are harboring a witch? The Queen knew what this would lead to, and she understood that her son would not back down, but... It was for their own good.*
*Yuuichi didn't seem to be rebelling much, and he also didn't intend to scare Shunsuke, after hearing about the impending execution while passing by the maids. It was strange to think about what this guy dressed as a princess was thinking, but he was trying. On the day of the witch's execution, it was quite late, and Yuuichi wasn't in the bedroom. Instead, he was sitting in the library with the prince's head resting peacefully on his lap. Yuuichi had suggested it, allowing the prince to rest as much as he could. Today, as usual, there were a lot of things to do, and there were some plans that needed to be implemented, but that's not the point right now. The door slowly opened, and the princess quickly reacted, glancing at the opening. The door was supposed to be closed, wasn't it?*
— Oh, are you two here together?
— Shh
*It was the queen, dressed in a simple nightgown, preparing for bed. The princess couldn't understand what she wanted from him, or why she had come here. In fact, during his stay here, the queen really did act like a noble and kind mother-in-law, she even seemed to be too persistent, as if she was trying to become a second mother to him. The princess didn't know how to feel about it, he didn't trust her, but at the same time, he felt a slight sense of security, which he didn't like.*
— Oh, is he too tired? It seems that my king has overburdened him.
*The woman, holding a candle in one hand, approached closer, closing the door behind her, to look at her son. Yuuichi was staring at her, and he could feel the tension around him.*
— Did you want to talk to him?
— Actually, I wanted to talk to you, if that's okay.
*Yuuichi was a little surprised, but he could also feel the growing tension. It seemed like it was urgent. Carefully picking up a nearby pillow, Yuuichi gently placed Shunsuke's head on it, careful not to wake him, and then gently patted his hair before stepping back.*
— Let's go.
*The woman looked at the princess with a heavy expression, but they peacefully left the library and went to the balcony.*
— It's very beautiful here, you know? Unfortunately, everyone here is rotten, even more rotten than my people.
*The princess said as she approached the edge, placing her hands on the railing and forcing a smile. From here, she could see the city clearly, with its small houses, shops where vendors sat during the day, and streets where children played. The woman remained where she was, nervously clutching her clothes and crumpling the fabric.*
— You need to run, they'll burn you at the stake like a witch tomorrow
*The queen looked nervous, was she really concerned about the fate of the princess she was sleeping with? It was interesting that she had ignored Yuuichi's words about her people, it was remarkable. The boy turned to his father's mistress, his expression slightly amused.*
— Oh, so you decided to tell me? Why are you so nervous? You know, I should be the one to be afraid, not you.
*The princess turned to the queen with a half-side, looking at her in surprise without her usual smirk. The queen was surprised by this reaction, but she swallowed and lowered her head, feeling ashamed.*
— I don't want you to die.
*This phrase almost threw the boy off balance.*
—...
*But he continued to look into the distance*
— Run, don't take anything with you, and escape, escape to a place where we can't reach you, or anyone else.
— Even if I escape, I'll be caught sooner or later, so what's the point? It's already decided.
— My son wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you.
— You could have opposed your husband, and then this sentence wouldn't have been agreed upon. The king has always been indifferent to him.
—...
—You're acting like a saint... Well, I have to go, I'm sleepy.
—Wait! I'm not a saint, I've never been a saint, I'm just a mother!
—A mother who sleeps with a man whose daughter is your son's wife.
*The queen's eyes widened, and she collapsed to the floor as Yuuichi made his way out. Right, you have to remember to address yourself as a girl in public, because the truth is not yet known to the extra people.*
— I'm sorry! Really sorry! I-I... Did terrible things, but I love my son, and you make him smile wider and wider every time, I've never seen him smile like that, and I understand that I'm partly to blame for it. I'm sorry... Don't leave... Don't die... For the sake of my son
*This made the princess stop, right, he can't die that way if Shunsuke is watching.*
— Don't worry, I'll just cause a little chaos and that's it, a scene
*The queen looked up at the princess, allowing her tears to dry.*
—... Really? This...
*The queen didn't know what to do. On the one hand, it was her people, and their reputation as a great empire could be tarnished, but on the other hand, her son would feel better if the princess survived.*
— You should have already decided whether you were a mother or a queen.
*After that, the door closed.*
*In the end, everything was ready, and Yuuichi resisted, but only for show, as he was tied to his usual post. The show was about to begin, and the sorcerer was looking forward to a fun hour.*
— WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!?
*Only today, only now, the Queen has decided to tell her son about the burning of the witch. Originally, what was the plan? The maids were supposed to distract the Prince. What for? Wouldn't it be easier to just tell the prince the truth about the princess being a witch? Of course, but the king wasn't a fool either, he knew that the chances of the problem escalating were high, and the risks were too great. However, the queen quickly sent her servants on their way, leaving her son alone with her.*
— Son, I'm sorry, but talking to the princess has made me realize that I'm doing the wrong thing. I... I'm truly sorry, sorry for everything.
— We'll talk later, not now.
*I said, in a hurry, I can't let anyone hurt him. The queen let me go, calmly and with confidence that she had found her way to redemption. Meanwhile, the fire was already raging as the sorcerer looked at the townspeople, who were clapping and cheering, but... Just let him burn? No, he didn't want to, he had promised a show, and he certainly wasn't going to die right now. Suddenly, the fire that was burning so brightly went out at the same moment, as if a large bucket of water had extinguished it, but it was dry. The ropes quickly turned into snakes, releasing their master.*
— HAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA GOD, DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU COULD BURN ME SO EASILY?!? IT'S SO FUNNY, FROM NOW ON!!! CURSE THIS ENTIRE COUNTRY, AND LET THE STATE ITSELF BURN IN A FIRE OF YOUR SINS, WHILE THE DEVILS SWALLOW YOUR BONES.
*The people, hearing the witch's hysterical laughter and curses, became alert and entered a state of madness. Below the pillar, near the celebrant, hideous creatures emerged and began a rampage. They attacked people, leaving them wounds and scratches, but without causing serious harm and did not kill anyone while people were trying to kill them and wanting to end the culprits of the celebration. Suddenly, one of the insane garages was able to slip past the monsters' gaze, attacking from behind*
— Oh! It was close!
*The princess quickly dodged while the man was dragged away by the monster. Seeing everything happening: his crazy show, the way people like madmen and hunted animals mercilessly and cruelly killed those who were truly harmless... It caused mixed feelings in the sorcerer, sometimes filled with rage, sometimes with disappointment, and sometimes with hope. He could have run away, teleported to another place, but... He couldn't do it properly, there was something holding him here, whether he wanted it or not, and unconsciously... Accidentally... He got carried away. Suddenly, the monsters became more aggressive, tearing flesh with their sharp claws and devouring particularly aggressive and irritating humans. The earth's surface was fed by blood, emanating a mixed scent dominated by the smell of metal. Men defended their wives and children, attempting to kill the "hellish creatures," while others fled, realizing they could not defeat them and dropping their weapons. The air was filled with cries of agony, blending into a collective melody of suffering. Some managed to fight back and escape, but not for long, as new ones appeared in place of the old ones, who did not feel as tired as humans. The army went into battle to protect the people and destroy the evil, and some died while others did not. In fact... Yuichi did not cast a real curse, and he wanted to pretend that the creatures were attacking the people, but... He became obsessed, and his selfish nature took over, consuming him completely.*
— HAHХАХАХАХА (Why does English laughter translate into Russian?)
— Yuuichi?
*Suddenly, a familiar voice called out to him - the voice that made him watch from below instead of above. Yuuichi turned to the figure standing not too far away. I looked at him in confusion and fear, unsure of what to do or feel. He had done it to save himself, but... It had turned into a hellish cycle! I needed to convince him to stop and run away as soon as possible, but... Suddenly! Amongst this rumble of sounds coming from the deepest of the torture chambers, there was another sound that I would remember for a very long time - the sound of a blade cutting through flesh and organs, splattering everything in its path, and the smell of metal that was more than a little repulsive. Something sharp, metallic, and brightly shining pierced the chest of the rebel and troublemaker. *
— Yuuichi!!!!
*NO NO NO NO I CAN'T LOSE YOU, PLEASE. I immediately rushed to his side as the sharp blade exited his body. He was either in shock or I don't know... He swayed for a fall, but it didn't happen, and he steadied himself on trembling legs, clutching the wound with his hand as blood flowed down his body and he coughed, coughing up blood. One of the guards was wielding the same weapon above the princess's head, but I intervened, and his weapon flew to the side, embedding itself in a citizen who was peacefully fending off the monster. That citizen of the city lost his vigilance, for which he was immediately killed by the monster.*
— S... S... I'm sorry... I... I...
*I heard a short and quiet voice behind me, while I was blocking the person myself, it sounded depressed and really sad. There was a huge bloody hole in his stomach, while the same liquid was dripping from the corners of his mouth, it was clear that he was definitely not well. Why was he asking me for forgiveness? Instead of answering, I silently picked him up.*
— Your Highness! What are you doing?! The order was to kill the witch! Get away from her! Who knows what she'll do!
*All the troops were thrown onto this battlefield to stop the madness*
— Shunsuke...
*With a heavy heart, one of the knights said in the distance with a sigh - Mami, but I didn't have time for that, or for monsters, or for knights, or for the consequences. Instead of answering or anything else, I just gave everything a disdainful look and ran away*
— YOUR HIGHNESS!!!
— HIS HIGHNESS IS RUNNING AWAY WITH A WITCH! HE'S probably under HER HORRIBLE CHARM! GO AFTER THEM!!!
*The crowd shouted, continuing to fight off the monsters and trying to join a couple of guards in the chase. There were only four people, but Shunsuke managed to escape quickly. After all, he was no longer the same child who could be easily caught.*
— Ugh...
*However, the running had taken its toll on him. Although Yuuichi's weight wasn't particularly noticeable, the panic and anxiety were taking their toll. The guards were still nearby, and he needed to escape as far as possible.*
— Yuuichi, are you okay?
—...
*Only now did I look at my husband, and he looked terribly bad, with blood all over him, even on my clothes. He was silent, as if thinking about something, but his eyes were open and he was conscious. To be honest, it was terribly hard for me to look at him, until suddenly, we were in a different place!*
*We were a little further away from the forest we were hiding in, but we were still in it. There were no sounds of shouting, searching, or anything else. The place was familiar, so I knew how far we were. This made me look at Yuuichi in surprise and concern, as he coughed up blood, closing his eyes and covering his mouth with his hand. His hand was covered in the disgusting liquid, and it had also stained his dress.*
— Are you crazy?!
*He used up his last strength on teleportation instead of taking it to recover! He needs strength like no other with such a terrible wound! Seeing how the princess looks, you wouldn't say that for sorcerers it is a "utter trifle" or a "harmless scratch", so my blood was boiling with worries about him*
— Why?!
—... I'm sorry...
*He said it briefly but firmly, looking into the distance, while I decided to sit down and put him next to me.*
—It... Takes a lot of... T... Time to recover.... Without med... Medical assistance. But I won't die from this... Definitely not.
*The guy paused occasionally, finding it difficult to speak, but it was clear that he was trying to calm me down, and he was succeeding. It's true, Yuuichi is an unusual person, it's unlikely that something like this could kill him, it helped me relax a little and stop worrying so much, but... Worrying didn't go anywhere, in the end it was causing him pain.*
— But... With this... This hole... I won't be able to properly exorcise the monsters. B... But I won't create n... New ones.
*It was hard not to be angry with him when he used words instead of action for such useless chatter as "monsters".*
— I don't care about monsters, and you don't need to apologize.
*I could see his surprised look out of the corner of my eye, as if he hadn't expected to hear that, and it made me feel a little uncomfortable. No, of course monsters are a problem, but... It's not a priority right now.*
— The most important thing to me is that you're okay. It's their own fault for accusing you of being a witch without any evidence. And it's my parents' fault for agreeing to the execution without any objections. So you don't need to apologize. Yes, the monsters are a hindrance, but your condition is more important to me right now.
—... At first, I just wanted to... Put on a show... Create the image of a "terrible w... Witch" to be feared... But I... I got carried away... And I really became a terrible wizard... It's so embarrassing.
*He looked terribly depressed, and if it weren't for the wound in his stomach, he might have pulled his knees up and huddled closer to the tree, wanting to disappear from this world, consumed by guilt and shame.*
—Yes, but you still defended yourself, and that's what matters.
—I... I could have teleported...
—Will you ever shut up?
*I couldn't take it anymore, clearly annoyed by his attempts to take responsibility. HE'S CLEARLY NOT GUILTY, AND STILL HE BLAMES HIMSELF, IT'S SO ANNOYING.*
— Instead of shifting the blame onto yourself, you should save your energy first. Actually... I don't feel anything about what you did. I understand that I should be angry and stuff... But I'm not, so don't try to apologize to me for it
*My life was dedicated to these people, I did everything I could to become a good ruler and listened to my mother, but... In the end, it didn't work out. I don't know the reasons, I don't know why they found out, but it doesn't really matter to me right now, but what really matters to me is Yuuichi's health and well-being. I don't want him to feel guilty, lonely, or in pain, and the thought of it makes me sad. After looking at me with tired eyes for a while, he suddenly smiled and laughed softly. This laugh was heavy and more like a cough or someone choking, while blood also came out of his mouth*
— Yuuichi?! Is something wrong?!
*I quickly became worried, scared, but from the cough, the laughter became a normal laugh*
— Hahaha! It's all right! Just... We've switched roles
—?
— Well.. I used to scold you, but now you're scolding me.
*That's right... He used to do that when I did stupid things or when he wanted to help me learn to say "no." But now we've switched places, and it's my turn to scold him for saying stupid things and doing wrong things, which made me smile easily.*
— Yes... You're right, I didn't notice, I think I should take advantage of this.
— You're already taking advantage of it.
— That's right... I'm glad to see that you're doing better.
*He's smiling so carefree despite the hole in his stomach and the amount of blood, it makes me relax and realize that nothing can stop the princess's genuine smile, at least not physically. However, I'm also worried about where we're going and what we should do. We need a temporary shelter where Yuuichi can recover and rest properly. What kind of place could this be?*
— Yuuichi... Do you know of a place we can escape to? Until you can recover?
— Of course, in my country... There are a couple of places. But I'm... Afraid I can't teleport us... There, it's too difficult and far away. And here, in the village or... Or somewhere here, it's not possible... We've probably been put on the... W... Wanted list
— That's right.
*Yuuichi was right, there didn't seem to be anywhere to go, but I had an idea. Even if our escape couldn't be left behind and we'd be searched for, there were places where we could hide and live safely.*
— I think I know where we can run... Just one more thing, Yuuichi... Do you mind... If I carry you on my back?
— Of course... Do whatever you want
*On the one hand, I was glad because it would be much easier for me to protect him in case of danger, but on the other hand, I was worried about his wound. But looking at Yuuichi, you wouldn't think he was bothered by it. So, he carefully climbed onto my back, even though it wasn't easy for him, and every time he sighed in pain, it made my heart ache because I was the one causing him to do something like this with such a wound, but I just held him tighter and continued on our way.*
— This time on my back... M ... maybe you could put it on your shoulder?
— I can do that, and I can see that you're already fully recovered, so you're talking so confidently. Are you sure your wound won't hurt?
— Okay, okay, I get it... I just wanted to lighten the mood...
*Despite the wound, he's really acting and looking more alive than ever... Apart from the blood, he's getting better, and I'm really happy about it. Despite this, I continued to walk through the treetops, knowing where I could go and where we would be welcomed. The birds continued to sing their songs, and the scent of blood coming from Yuuichi slowly attracted local predators that caused problems, such as bears, wolves, and others. While this was not a significant issue for me, I usually gave him a stern look during these moments.*
— Just hold on tight and don't do anything.
*It was clear that he was ready to help, but when I said such things, he calmed down, holding on tighter as I held him with one hand, as I had to hold the sword with the other. Therefore, the predators were not a serious threat. I tried not to kill them, but simply wounded them so that they retreated on their own, as there was no time for killing. During our walk, he suddenly addressed me, and the princess's voice was more confident and less exhausted than before.*
— I have something to tell you
— Can't you tell me later? When you're feeling better?
— If I don't tell you now, I won't tell you ever.
*I realized he was serious, so I didn't argue and listened carefully.*
— I'll die in five years, maybe ten or two, but I won't live to see 30.
— ... What?...
*This news... Made me stop, my feet firmly planted on the ground. How is that? Is that possible? He usually doesn't joke about such topics, so why is he saying this now? When he's not in the best of shape. Why? What for? How? For what? There were a lot of questions in my head that made my blood boil-not from anger, but from fear. Is there really nothing you can do? Is there nothing you can change? Surely there is a way to save him or prolong his life at least? It can't end like this... He can't stop because of death... My hands were shaking and he could feel it.*
—.... And why?
— As far as I understand, witches or sorcerers who reach the highest level don't live long... Yes, they have access to all-powerful magic, but in exchange, it consumes their vital energy and years of life.
— Maybe you should stop using it?
— If only it were that simple... Witches who gave up magic to live longer only lived for a maximum of 20 years, so it's rare to find someone who has reached that level nowadays. Even if I give it up, it won't make much of a difference, I'll die whether I give it up or not, it's just a matter of a few more or fewer years, and besides... I can't give it up, especially now, especially after what happened, and even now I'm using it to recover, I can't live without it, it's become a part of me.
*I didn't know what to say, but I continued walking, holding him tightly. It was difficult to argue, but even so, there was a glimmer of hope that he might survive for a little longer.
— I can't do anything?
— No, the only one who can do anything is me, by giving it up, but you know that's impossible.
— Right, then... Can you promise me something?
— I'm all ears.
*I felt his arms tighten around me as his head rested on my shoulder, his gaze piercing through me. I exhaled.*
— Promise to use magic only in extreme cases, at least. I don't want you to die so soon, if you're even dying... Okay?
— I promise
*He answered quickly, unaccustomedly, as if he had known in advance that I would ask him such a thing, but he promised, even though you wouldn't say, but he is a man of his word, so I believe him. Smiling, I nodded.*
— Good. A, and something else
—?
— You knew about this before, didn't you? But why did you decide to tell me now?
*He paused for a long time before answering:*
— Yes, I knew about it before, but after I found out that I would be executed as a mage, I decided to take advantage of the situation. However, I thought it would be unfair for both you and me, so these events occurred.
*Soon we reached that place, an old and unattractive house among towering pillars in the sky. There wasn't much there, just some boxes, a strange thing - covered with white linen, and an old bed. There is no dust here, although there are very few signs that someone lives here. I calmly sat Yuuichi down on the bed.*
— How long will it take to recover?
— I think I'll be fine tomorrow.
*I nodded as I started going through the boxes and looking for something. Meanwhile, the princess was looking around the modest house*
— What kind of house is this? It's a very nice place
— Ryo and Sayaka and I used to run away here to escape the boring and rich daily life
— Oh
*There was no sadness or regret in my words, I had already said goodbye to them and accepted their deaths, but even so, as a tribute to my friends, whenever I had the opportunity, I would come here and clean it up, feeling nostalgic, which is why it's so clean. I had told Yuuichi about this place and its memories during our gatherings, so he wasn't particularly surprised, but he definitely didn't expect us to come here or for it to look like this. Finally finding what I needed, I took out a clean bandage.*
— Take off your clothes, I need to bandage you.
*I helped him take off his dress, and then I started bandaging the wound. The wound was quite large, but I covered it with several layers of bandage. Of course, there was still blood on the dress, but it didn't matter as long as the wound was covered. I wanted to leave to get some food and change my clothes, but... It's risky, after what happened, suddenly someone will come here or something will happen. Another hand touched my arm, which caused me to look at Yuuichi in surprise. Instead of that dress, he put on old clothes that I could find for him among these boxes, at least something to keep him warm, besides those clothes he was also wearing a wig, the one he apparently forgot to take off.*
— You're taking on too much responsibility, man, let me help you... Ugrh
— Well, no, you stay here.
*He tried to stand up, but feeling discomfort and heaviness, he sat back down. It's cute that he's trying to help me and doing his best, but he needs rest, and I don't want him to use magic to make my life easier. I knew he wouldn't give up, as it was difficult for him to look at his own vulnerability and realize that he couldn't help. So, I foolishly and gently grabbed the back of his head, pulling the wig over his face and chuckling.*
— Hehehe
— HEY! what are you doing?! stop it!
— You should take it off already, I like you better when you're yourself
*He did take off the pointless and useless thing, awkwardly looking away and... Blushing? It's funny, it made me smile widely. Instead of a fake princess, I saw a too-shaggy-than-usual guy who just likes unusual things. But I like this guy, his too-shaggy hair from wearing a wig for a long time, his awkwardness when he's too open, and his honesty.*
— Then can I at least come with you?
— I can't leave you alone, so you don't have a choice.
— Phew, I was afraid you'd lock me in here.
— So you can see me?
— Pfft
*Neither of us was serious, we just exchanged barbs and sometimes mocked each other, having fun and laughing along the way, as if we weren't being chased by a horde of people and we weren't wanted. After bringing everything we needed to the river, we worked together. Of course, he tried to put the cart in front of the horse, but I constantly discouraged him by giving him simple tasks. Of course, Yuuichi was displeased, but he didn't say anything against it. The wild predators didn't attack as actively because my husband's wound was bandaged, and we had disposed of the blood-soaked clothes, as it would have been unsafe to keep them. Together, we successfully prepared the food. I hoped that the search would not reach this area of the forest, knowing how far it was, but despite my hopes, I tried to be cautious. It was getting late when we returned, chatting about meaningless topics, until I heard a rustling in the bushes. It was tense, and he seemed to notice it as well, but he didn't say anything. Instead of going to the house, I turned around, and we continued walking in the opposite direction without stopping. 1... 2... 3.... Fast sound*
— Be careful!
*Yuuichi suddenly pushed me to the side, causing us to almost fall, but the arrow didn't hit us*
— Shunsuke, just give up and let the witch go- stop
*A girl named Mami came out of the bushes... I don't want to fight or run away from her... A chill went down my back. When she saw Yuuichi, she stopped, and it seems she didn't expect him to be a guy, because he wasn't wearing a wig.*
— Yes, I'm a sorcerer, what? Am I surprising you?
— Mami, I'm sorry, but I can't stop... I can't turn back.
*I was more talking to myself than to her. She was still in shock, and then Yuuichi realized who she was.*
— Oh, was that her?
— Yes... Mami, I have to go, I hope you can understand me.
*After that, I started running away. I didn't want to leave her, but if I didn't, she would probably betray us, even though we were childhood friends and she had been protecting me since I was a child. I can't trust anyone right now.*
— SH-SHUNSUKE! wait! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!!!
— You have to understand how risky this is.
*I couldn't see her face, but I could hear the sound of armor clashing and running behind me.*
— Stop! I won't shoot you
*The running stopped, so I stopped too, looking at her. She just stood there waiting, and I swallowed*
— Mami...
— Shunsuke, you've grown so much, and I'm glad that you've grown up this way. I want to give you some advice: go to the northern edge of the kingdom, where there's a small town that few people visit. It's not taken seriously, but I have some acquaintances there who can help you.
— Why...
*Mami made a face and grabbed her head with her hands, pretending to be in agony*
— OH NO, DON'T GO INTO MY HEAD!!!!
*....WHAT?*
— HAHHAHA, YOU'RE A PITIFUL PERSON
*ಠ_ಠ*
— I'LL SHOW YOU!!!!
— Come on, let's run
— Ah... Yes...
*It was still hard for me to understand what was going on, why did Mami pretend that Yuuichi had entered her head? Unless... She wasn't being followed, and no one was watching this conversation... And if they were, why didn't they intervene or attack? Were they testing her to see which side she was on? Maybe. Then we definitely shouldn't go North tomorrow. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed arrows sticking into the treetops.*
— Okay, I tried to give you a chance, Your Majesty, but I'll get a lot of money for your heads.
*It's much more dangerous now, as an arrow could hit me in the back at any moment. Knowing Mami and her sometimes harsh methods, she might do it for a more realistic game. So I focused on the sounds and dodging, as if it wasn't a game but a real chase from danger, until I felt someone moving. I looked at the princess, and he took my sword from my belt.*
— Hold it tightly, uggh...
— What are you doing?!
— Don't worry, I won't use magic. I want to protect one of your backs.
*After that, he moved and peeked over my shoulder, still holding the sword. I couldn't help but worry, yes, it's for realism, but isn't it too much?*
— Are you sure?
— Yes, have you forgotten? I'm your arms, and you're my legs
— Not in that sense!!!!
*But it seemed like he wasn't listening to me, so I used my hands to support him so he wouldn't fall, hoping his wound wouldn't get worse. During the chase, I dodged from time to time, while also hearing the sound of metal hitting metal from behind. Ahead, I noticed some bushes that were quite dense and tall*
— Yuuichi! Is she far away?
— Yes, or she's hiding very well.
— Good
*After that, I quickly ducked into the bushes with him. There was silence, except for the sound of gunshots, and then... Someone came running and stopped*
— Damn it! Yes how so... Eh...
*After that she went in an unknown direction, but I was in no hurry to leave, only after an hour or so we came out, all covered with leaves and mvnly sticks.*
— Damn, she's good at aiming, had to sweat...
— I didn't think you had experience in beating arrows
— No, just my reaction is good.
*The sword was stuck on my belt again, while I myself was holding Yuuichi in my arms again, my heart was heavy after meeting Mami, but we must put our feelings aside and concentrate on survival, she is on our side, we are not alone. When an hour had passed, we came out of hiding, the leaves were still in our hair and on our clothes.*
— I think she's gone...
— No, she let us go, let's go.
*I looked at Yuuichi, then nodded, and we headed towards the house, which was finally completely dark. There was a strange bundle on the bed, and when we unwrapped it, we found two black cloaks with spare clothes for cover and a few small items like food and water.*
— Did she know about this place?
— She caught us once when we were running away, so yes.
— I see, you have good and loyal friends.
— You're right.
*I owe you, Mami, thank you. We'll spend the night here, and tomorrow we'll start a new life and figure out what to do next. We prepared for sleep, and there was only one bed. I offered to sleep on the floor, but he insisted and forced me to share the bed with him. Although we were married and slept together in the same bed, it was designed for one person, not two. In the end, we lay half-facing each other, about to fall asleep, but Yuuichi seemed to want to discuss something with me.*
— Shunsuke... Look, remember when I made you a promise that I would only use magic in extreme situations?
— Yes.
— Then... Can you make me a promise?
*We were talking in whispers, which made no sense since we were alone, but it didn't stop us from chatting quietly. My husband took my hand and placed it on his heart, and I could feel its beating, which calmed me. He continued:*
— If I leave, don't follow me.
*I was frozen, how could I not follow him? How could I not go with him?*
— I can't make that promise to you.
— Why?
— Because I have nothing left but you. I decided to give up everything and take your side, so I have no choice but to follow you to the end, even if you leave, yes, I will follow you.
— And what about your friend and your mother?
— If they accepted my decision, then they will also accept the next one.
*I was as serious as possible in my words, and for greater conviction, I removed my hand in order to gently take Yuuichi's wrist and kiss it - just a sign of eternal devotion, an old custom used by knights to swear their loyalty to the royal family. Of course, I'm not a knight, but... I still made the oath, because it's the oath I'm willing to follow*
— It's... It's unfair, why did you give up so much? Why are you now pledging your loyalty to someone like me? Who might die soon and who would try to kill you? I... I don't understand.
— Because with you, I feel like a human being, like myself, and I can be honest: I can talk about my frustrations, my joys, my sorrows, and my happiness without having to choose my words. I want to be with you always, and just being close to you makes me happier. I understand that you might not live long, so... I'll try to make sure you don't leave without regrets, and then I'll follow you, no matter where you go.
*I couldn't hold back a smile, and although I couldn't see his face in the dark, I could swear that he blushed.*
—... Yes, I also enjoy spending time with you... Very... Grh!!! Let's go to sleep already!!! And you shouldn't talk about such things at night anyway
— Really? You started it, by the way!
— Shut up!!!!
— Hehe🎶
—..... But thank you, thank you for being here
*He died at the age of 22, I remember those days like yesterday. Back then, he was particularly active and affectionate, but he also said sad things, he was preparing me for his departure, I understand that, but even so... I wasn't ready. Then.... He left, just left, I was looking for him all over the village in which we were settled on the edge of the kingdom in the South, afraid that he was captured, but it turned out to be worse - he died of natural causes: no wounds, no infections, no fractures, no poisonings, nothing, is this how sorcerers who have reached a high level leave? It's been only 7 years since our conversation. I have been fulfilling my vow and living with him as if every day could be my last, so... I just hope that when he left, he had no regrets. I was going to follow him, but... I learned something that made me move on. The king of the red rose, Yuuichi's father, has died, and there is no one else to lead the kingdom, since there is no heir. I thought: Can I just leave it all like that? If I don't do something, then nothing will change, and perhaps this is the only thing I can do for him, knowing how dear this place was to him. I went there, of course, they didn't believe me right away.*
— Who are you anyway?! You can't be his husband, because His Majesty and his spouse have escaped and they still can't be found!
*It was enough to whisper a few words for me to be believed. A little trick he taught me: before leaving, he used little magic for this, despite its power.*
— Oh, yes, you're right! I apologize, Your Majesty.
*Of course, I couldn't escape the questions:*
— Wow, is this His Majesty the White Rose? He wears dark clothes, oh...Really?
— Oh my God, is the princess really?! He might have done magic, but... The King was ready to receive him
— It's terrible!!! Poor white rose
*Now I understand why he hated the servants, it would be necessary to replace everything and refresh his memory for the board. I'm not worried about the white kingdom, the truth about my father eventually came out and one of his sons will become one of the heirs. Of course the kingdom was unhappy, but does this old man care? He chose it himself, and he should have thought about the consequences of his betrayal, but it doesn't concern me. The news of my ascension to the throne spread throughout the land, and many people wanted to meet with me, but I refused, as it was unnecessary. My mother also wanted to meet with me and Mami, or at least see me, but... I'm not ready, and I know what she'll say and what we'll discuss. I can't handle it, at least not now. The people accepted me calmly, and the conflicts over the succession subsided. This job wasn't as demanding as I thought it would be, and as my father raised me, I always did everything early, maybe because I'm young? Most likely. When I had free time, I preferred to spend it in the library, the same one, learning new things and just... It was peaceful and comfortable there, perhaps because of the time I had spent there in the past. As time passed, questions about my family and heirs began to haunt me.*
— Your Majesty, you still walk in the dark, and I understand the tragedy, but we need an heir, or else we may end up like the previous king.
—... I understand, then I think I need to go to the orphanage.
— You want to adopt an orphan?! But how can that be?! What will the leaders of the other kingdoms say?
— I don't care about their opinion, but this is a chance to give a lonely child love, and I'm confident that you can handle raising them.
—... You really are more suited to the red rose than the white one. It will be done.
*It was a boy and a girl who attracted me with their quietness and reserve, I personally made sure that they were not burdened and were not treated badly, but rather with respect and kindness. Of course, in my free time, I try to give them love by spending time with them, but it is a bit difficult for me. If you are interested, people reacted to this news in different ways, some supported me in my willingness to give love to other people's orphans, while others viewed it as a personal insult and jealousy. As a guard for them, I chose the most familiar person here - he was no longer as cowardly as before, but he was not the bravest person either. He had shown progress and had risen well in the ranks*
— Takumi, is it?
— Aah!!! Oh, yes, Your Majesty! Have you summoned me?
— Yes, don't worry so much. Can you take care of these two children to ensure they are well-treated and everything goes smoothly? Well, and teach them the art of the sword?
— Of course, I will take this duty upon myself with honor! I will try to stay close to them.
— Excellent, I am glad of this.
— Also... Your Highness
*I was surprised that he addressed me, but I turned around*
— I think he is happy... Seeing how hard you are trying... But you should rest more, because if you go to him looking tired, he won't forgive you. He wants you to be happy and not in a hurry.
*He looked nervous and uncertain, as if he was afraid that I would think he was an idiot or that he would be expelled from his position. I was surprised by his detailed wording, but I only raised the corners of my lips slightly.*
— You're being very detailed... Don't ever mess with dark magic for the sake of your life. Well, thank you for the advice.
— O-okay...
*I still miss him and can't forget him, he gave me so much that I didn't have before. He taught me to say no, to be kind to myself, and I'll never forget him again. Even though I'm alive, I'm still loyal to him, but I just need a little more time to meet him, and I can't wait for that day to come.*
— Why is it so hard? I can't get in!! What am I going to tell the maids?!?
*The boy complained about his helplessness and the fact that he couldn't hit the fireballs in time. Meanwhile, his only friend, a flying book, flew around, trying to cheer him up, while the entire library was destroyed*
— Mmm... If you're very tired, we can take a break.
— Why are we even doing this?! I'm studying magic to get my mom back. But in the end, I end up studying meaningless spells.
— You see, every wizard needs a good reaction, and this spell is too powerful. You need experience.
*The boy didn't just sit on the couch; he positioned his legs upside down, with his head pressed against the seat.*
— A good reaction? Experience?
— Yes, a good reaction and experience. If they don't exist, you won't be able to stop in time, remember what happened?
— Are you talking about the moment when I couldn't control myself and killed a child?
*The boy looked sadly at the book that was lying open on the table*
— Yes, a sorcerer must know when their powers may get out of control in order to regain control over themselves.
— Do you think I can bring my mother back?
— I don't think so
*The boy let out a disappointed breath as he sat up properly due to his dizziness.*
— No, then?...
— No. I'm sorry
—... Okay, so when I learn more useful spells, for sure I'll be older and I'll have more chances.
— You're learning magic to save your mom, right?
— Well, not exactly.... It's fun with magic, I feel at ease, like this is where I should be, it helps me not to despair and to live. For sure if it weren't for her, I would... All this is insanely interesting, as well as what spells there are, how they can be useful or not.
— You do understand how dangerous it is to do this, don't you?
— Yes, but I don't care.
— Okay, and what if you can't resurrect your mom?
— What if I can't? ... I'll be sad, I'll be sad, but eventually I'll give up and keep learning new spells, no matter how painful it is, because it won't bring her back. But I have to live, at least to make you happy. You're my only friend.
// I DID IT!!! OH MY GOD!!! I'M EXTRA DROWNY AT 2 AM BUT I DID IT!!!! I set out to finish it today to post it and I did it, I'm proud of myself even though I'm sleepy and I want to sleep, it's weird, I usually go to bed at 3 or 4 am. This part of the story is average, I don't think I was able to fully convey everything I wanted to, but I wrote everything I wanted to add, so it's okay, even though I wanted to make it very sad. It's not like I originally planned to kill Yuichi, no, it came as a surprise. You see, I was afraid of making him too powerful, I didn't want him to seem like an all-powerful being, so I decided it would be fair, knowing how often he used it. Also, as you may have noticed, I tried to involve not only the main characters, but also Shunsuke's mother, Mami, and Takumi. However, I feel disappointed that Takumi received less attention compared to the other two characters. I couldn't think of a more significant role for him. I don't know what else to say about this, so I'll leave it at that. I'll write a separate post about everything you need to know and don't know, but I'm too lazy to do it right now. Thank you for reading!

I've decided to take on myself the task of translating Gote to Handa :D!!!
When attempting it I'm presented with issues decompiling and accessing the texts. If anyone has experience with translating games on live maker or extracting game files using python please contact me, any and all help is appreciated. 🩷
(Btw i want to translate the game in English and Spanish for everyone ^^)
Hello everyone I know it's sudden, but you know, I love different weird spikes that aren't canon, but they look interesting. Therefore, this is my top 5 weird spikes that I like, from less weird to more weird.
5 - Shunsuke/Re. Of course, it cannot be called strange, so it is located at the bottom. They're acting like insanely cute friends, why not? And after the dark room scene, they got into my heart as a duo and shipp. They would have a very nice activity and I even wrote a minifanfiction on this ship, it's also worthy of peering!!! 10/10
4 - Rey/Aya are a rather interesting duo that complement each other, the strict but honest Rey, who is ready to help, and the quiet, introverted Aya. I know they could be best friends, no matter how different they are. 10/10
3 - Sayaka/Aya АОАОАЛЛАОАЛАОВООАОАООВОАЛАЛЛВЛВЛАЛЛАЛВЛЛАЛАЛАЛЛА MY LOVELIES of АВАВАВАВАВАВАААВАВАВАВААААААААААВВААВАА. I think they would be insanely cute, Sayaka would run and jump around Aya like a rabid dog, and Aya would stand and watch it. Sayaka would understand Aya without unnecessary words, she could literally be like a dog, which is usually given to the blind, but Aya is not blind, but still, it's enough for a mental flow. 10000000000/10
2 - Sayaka/Takumi is an interesting ship for me, it's only inspired by the song, but I still think they could be very nice and good friends. Sayaka would have followed him like a mountain while he thought about how to repay and cried (He is afraid of Sayaka) 10/10
1 - Shunsuke's mom/Yuichi's mom. - YES, YES, YES, I KNOW IT SOUNDS AND LOOKS STRANGE, BUT LISTEN, LISTEN, I LIKE IT. THAT'S WHY HE'S AT THE TOP. YES, IT ALL LOOKS AND SOUNDS CRAZY, BUT I BELIEVE IF THEY HAD MET UNDER DIFFERENT CONDITIONS, THEY COULD REALLY BE GOOD FRIENDS/COUPLE. YOU KNOW, IT'S SOMETHING LIKE, "My husband is shit, so I'm going to leave him and go to a woman." IT'S FUNNY, BUT I LIKE CAMON. THEY WOULD BE THE SAME GIRLS WHO DRINK TEA SWEETLY AND CHAT ON VARIOUS TOPICS DISCUSSING THEIR SONS AND ALSO DISCUSSED VARIOUS TV SHOWS. LET ME SHIP TWO BEAUTIFUL WOMEN IN A FENDOM, I'M CRYING 10/10000000/10000000000000000/10000000000
So that's it, short and clear. I don't know what else to write, do whatever you want with it, bye
