Why don’t you title some Bitches!

To be more detailed: first chunk of the film kinda clunky and meandered. Honestly, most of the flick tends to meander about until a certain point. Kara feels like worse Star Lord. I stress worse cause she’s more jackass than likable but we know she’s gonna have her little arc about being less of douche so whatever.

I genuinely don’t like how they doubled down on the weird stuff around Clark’s father from the first movie. In fact, I don’t like how they hijack a lot of Clark’s stuff for the sake of making Kara different. Stripping Clark of any and all care of Krypton(and stealing his dog) and lumping it solely on Kara is stupid. There’s also some unnecessary mean spiritedness to Supes between having the dog piss on a picture of Clark to Kara swearing Clark’s heart is “pure” cause she hasn’t lost what she has.

Kara’s little sidekick was kinda annoying, minus the scenes where she was calling Kara out on being a miserable pos and doing nothing about it, Jason Mamoa’s Lobo was p cool, overwhelmingly underutilized tho. Kara’s power levels were kinda up down and all around. Doesn’t bother me that much but it’s worth noting.

Whatever Aesop Kara was trying to hammer home about her sidekick not killing the big bad was muddied by her immediately murdering him in cold blood moments after the other girl walked off. Lobo shoulda just done the deed or dragged him off. Honestly a better plot would be Lobo and Supergirl effectively being the angel and devil on the girl’s shoulder swaying her to either kill the guy or let em go.

Honestly that’s a lot of what I think of this movie. “Coulda did this.” “Better if they do that”. It’s all potential and not enough living up.

Also the needle drops were p lame this go round.

And I stress “embarrassment” cause I was dogging tf out of this girl leading up to her release but now that she’s finally out I gotta say: she’s swell. She occupies an extremely rare niche in that she’s a benevolent cosmic horror. Her world tour stuff makes it very clear she’s got the Galactus thing(her appearance is in the eye of the beholder) and the Lovecraft thing(her true form is imperceptible to the human mind) but unlike either of those two she’s completely heroic. It’s neat. I like that she completely bitches out Bison in her arcade and I like that her “Code Holder” backstory. Overall would I have wanted someone else? Still yeah. Am I at least pleased with what I got? Also yeah. She’s probably gonna be the only other character in buy from Season 3.

Also ngl im not all the way fuckin with the fact her world tour stuff ends with Bosch death being undone, kinda made the one meaningful part of that story pointless. Though I’m also greatly amused cause it can now be extrapolated that meeting the Create-a-character is the worst thing that could happen to Bosch since a timeline where he doesn’t us leads to him becoming playable as opposed to getting kidnapped, experimented on and dying.

Like I’ll give them credit: at least she’s a hand to hand martial artist y’know? Like she’s more fitting to be included than anyone else in 7(and she doesn’t look madly out of place like Clive and Noctis did in Tekken) but a nigga’s just sick of the 7 favoritism. Like I know it’s Final Fantasy 7. Its name alone carries weight in the history of gaming but Eugh. It’s like if you’re a fan of Batman or Wolverine, you’re not gonna mind their overexposure that much but if you’re not much of a fan at all then like it’s gonna be kinda grating.

Several characters on the roster over the years were made to be backup bodies for bison if you were gonna bring him back at least they could have made him heavily different visually. Hell the devs clearly thought about going this way themselves if in game concept art is anything to go by.

Honestly any of these designs would’ve had me complaining way less when bison dropped last year but nah. Just put regular bison in rags and grow his hair out. Missed out on the “evil doesn’t die, it just changes shape” vibe.

Alternatively they could have had him act differently too. Make him generally altruistic with a the occasional bout of madness to show the writhing evil within instead of making him regular Bison with a slight lobotomy.
