#1 - Sangatsu no Lion 2nd Season / March Comes in Like a Lion 2nd Season

It’s like every episode leaves me with a lump in my throat and chest, and tears in my eyes. I’ve gotten so attached to these characters that all I want is for them to end up happy. I can’t stop gushing about this show. I love everything about it; it’s charming characters, it’s depiction of real life social problems that hits me right in the heart, it’s beautiful and atmospheric visuals.

It’s a heartfelt, wonderful story and I love it so much.

#2 - Koi wa Ameagari no You ni / After the Rain

I love that the romance isn’t the central focus. Whenever it’s addressed it doesn’t feel forced or cliché. It’s more about Tachibana and Kondo re-discovering their paths as they’ve each hit a wall at different stages in life. I admire Tachibana’s personality and very pure love for her manager, who is a very sweet, awkward older man. Wit Studio really outdid themselves with the animation and visual storytelling.

#3 - Sora Yori mo Tooi Basho / A Place Further Than the Universe

A story about being brave and taking a step (or in this case, a boat ride) out of your comfort zone. Maybe it’s to make friends, or skip school for the first time, or prove to yourself that you can do anything you put your mind to… or maybe learn to come to terms with and somewhat accept the death of a loved one…

A charming and visually stunning adventure with absolutely wonderful characters and a story that’s not only funny but also incredibly heartwarming.

Another thing I’ve been drawing while I yearn for the sweet release of death.
