Have Courage and Be Kind

-Born and raised in Newark, NJ until early adult hood.

- She was raised devoutly Seventh Day Adventist but she’s since renounced her faith and considers herself to be somewhat spiritual. - Her parents were well off enough that she never wanted for food or material items. She was closer to her father, who was better at expressing his emotions than her mother who was often closed off and unaffectionate. - Other than a lack of affection her childhood was a good one. She had lots of close cousins and spent a lot of her time volunteering in her church. - In highschool she was seen as energetic and outgoing, making a natural fit for cheerleading. She was also something of a teacher’s pet, taking on leadership roles in the art club. - She’d built a pretty good life for herself… Then she met Vanessa. Vee, as she would call her, instantly captivated her. She was the daughter of their nanny who would come to help her mom after school. Vee and Missy became friends and then quickly crossed that line into dating. - She was outed when she was seventeen by a cousin she’d trusted. This lead to her mother giving her two choices. Missy could either dump Vee, enter therapy (that her mother approved) and change schools or she could leave. Missy chose to leave, moving in with Vee and Vee’s mother. - Together they saved up and moved to New York City where Vee persued her dreams (leaving vague so I can post a wanted connection) - They dated up until Missy was 22 when Vee confessed that she’d fallen out of love with her a while ago and had only stayed so long out of guilt. - She found a new apartment with three other roommates, now heartbroken and without a family. Despite this she’s doing her best to turn her life around on her own. She doesn’t know what else to do but move forward and try to stay positive. - Because of the events in her life she’s deeply insecure and very eager to please. She puts a lot of pressure on herself to make the people around her happy with little regards to her own feelings.
